Wally with the one I have you just slide that sleeve off and you have an open end tube with seal exposed. The only rocking I had to do was to get the tube off the base ;) The sleeve IS the top cap and drip tip holder. :)

Thanks for clearing that up yiddle. Like I said I don't have that model and was taking a stab in the dark from the picture I saw.

This worked! Thank you so much! Almost everything came off like you said. Except I was not successful getting the tube off but was still able to clean it. Must be extra glue on mine, haha. Made sure all was dry, was very careful on my dry burn, reassembled, filled and fingers crossed... omg...it's so good again. :)
Apparently, as in my case, if it's still firing it may be worth trying to save.
For the top drip tip sleeve. Use the screw on cap that came with your sleeve. Does not have to be the cap. Anything with a matching thread will work. If you bought the sleeved version use the screw on cap that came with it. Screw it on tight and then rock it back and forth gently while pulling it out. Next use the same syringe tip you fill it with to remove the silicone plug. Insert the needle then kinda slant it and lift the seal out. Next remove the inner metal tube. I use a heavy paper clip with a hook bent on the end. Hook it under the top sholder and give it a tug. Most times you will need to attempt this a couple times from oposite sides before it works loose. Actually you may be better off removing the base with the tube attached and removing it later from the base assemby. Either way will work. For the base, screw it on tightly to an ego battery and get back to rockin gently and pulling apart from the tube at the same time. Some tubes are tight the first time apart, They may have used a drop of glue at the factory. I then rinse everything in hottish water. Dry everything off. Dry burn the wick. Careful not to do too much dry burning at one time or you will ruin the coil. At this point you can check the ohms if you have something to do it with. I have a gripper and a pro vari that do this. If all looks back to normal reassemble and vape away.

Thank you yiddleboge6 for helping me as well. I've learned some new lingo on what is what on my phoenix, now it makes sense.
My sleeve is metal with a black covering. It connects the drip tip and then slides on and covers the tube. You can't put a drip tip on mine without the sleeve. From what I've been reading in the threads, that's been changed. It sounds as if the new sleeves are just a cover.

And reading all this is when I get nostalgic about the fluxos... They are sooooo easy to take apart. Oh, wait, the modular Stardusts are even easier! Heh... You Phoenix guys have to wait until they come out with a modular Phoenix. :p

  the xl phoenix are even easier to take apart than the fluxos and the sleeved tank was just as easy until they changed it :D I'll settle for a Raven if I can't have a modular phoenix.

So glad to see ya around posting Briar. I miss seeing your input as often as it used to be. :)
