what did you smoke before you started vaping?

Djarum Specials before they got banned (and turned into "cigars") Then Marlboro Smooths. Without trying to find a replacement flavor for either I discovered Halo's Kringle's Curse which bears a strong likeness to the Smooths. Haven't found a good clove flavor yet (though I haven't looked very hard either).

I smoked camel lights/blues, black and milds and various pipe tobaccos. I stayed away from tobacco flavors from the start and went straight to fruity/dessert flavors once i made the switch. Ive tried a few tobacco flavors here and there since and they've all sucked. The only exception is a spiced pipe flavor and its pretty good. Doesnt taste anything like a cig though.
I started with Marlboro Lights but loved Marlboro Black when this came out a couple of years ago.
I'm with you on the clove situation
Used to get the occasional pack of Djarum Blacks, especially satisfying in the winter months. Would love to find a kretek juice that isn't all clove(most reviews complain about this). Would really bring back some good memories. I'll keep in touch just in case something rolls my way 
I started off about 20yrs ago with Marlboro Red, Camel, Winston, Lucky Strike and Salem for menthol. Than it's getting expensive so when down to Newport for a while and love the menthol. Years goes by and getting more and more expensive so I found a new love that's clove cigarettes and cheaper too. So went on with a few Gudang Garam species like Surya, Djarum, Dji Sam Soe and finally stick to Sampoerna Menthol. Years went by and Sampoerna getting expensive too and finally settle with Gudang Garam Signature Menthol.
And now I found a new love Vaping but than its illegal here in SG. If I can't go on definitely will be back to my analog days because my SG country do not want a smoke free country. They ban e cig altogether because of their greed with money.

Newports for 20 yrs and Newport mediums(blue box) for about 5 yrs. Spent at least $100 on 5ml samplers looking for the Newport of ejuice and never found it. Found a good menthol and fell in love with the bakery and fruit juices. Never looked back
I used to smoke du Maurier and before that Djarum Blacks once in awhile, although now I've been finding that they smell awful not to mention they had way more tar and left me feeling like I had no lungs

I always used to smoke camel wides then marb light 100's and it took me a year and a half to finally get down to where i was vaping exclusively but that was mostly because i wasnt the only smoker in the house and no i havent found anything that tasts like a cig but i love menthol to vape and i used to like about any menthol and thats what i quit with
I used to smoke Camel Wides, never found another cigarette like it, and I doubt if there's an e- juice similar. But I'm moving away from things that are similar to analogs. I think of it as trading one thing for the other, as opposed to replacing.
Never posted here so here goes..
Many things over the years from Lucky non-filtered (some of my first 25 years ago) to Camel wide's but with the tax hikes over so many years I spent the last 10-12 years smoking RYO American Spirit tobacco. Cheaper, a bit healthier if you can believe it (all natural from the preserves) and heavy on the nic. I'm just now hitting some 36mg juice I just got in and the 24mg wasn't keeping me from the cravings and started to chain vape me into always having a battery charging. 36mg is doing me well and I've only tooted a few times here and there and find myself not grabbing for my eGo as much today.

marlboro 27s, and switched between that and reds. Always hated menthols though.
I used to smoke Marlboro lights but since the price of cigarettes have gone up, this past year I've smoked pall mall menthol. Unfortunately right now I'm smoking pall mall menthol white as I'm waiting impatiently for my replacement yj vv mod to come in the mail. I really want to get off the analogs completely and I'm hoping this will help.
I smoked Parliament Menthol Lights for 10 years. Never found a liquid like it and now I'm at the point where I don't like anything tobacco flavored so I'm not too worried about ever finding it.
