Basically, it's the vendor's "property" - although they are "leasing" it from ECF and as long as they abide by the rules laid out in the 'contract' by ECF, they should be able to do anything including deleting and editing posts and threads.

But Toby's way of handling it is the best, imo. Sunlight disinfects, and free expression shows all sides and people can decide. It is why the Nazis should have, and did, march in Skokie Illinois, a largely Jewish community. Same with any demonstration that takes place as long as no rights are harmed. It shows to all who they are, and what they stand for, and our founders and some of Toby's even, ;-) believed that the people can decide on what the facts actually are when free expression allowed.

Still, the vendor still has the right to delete. Their choice, nobody else's except perhaps, ECF, who is the ultimate property owner here.

Deleting though........????

Have a mod move the thread to a different Sub-Forum at most. We are talking about people who cover up bad service by deleting the opinions of the people who do business with them. That is NOT right and should not be supported by ECF even if Vendors pay for their Sub-Forum. Payment gives no right to allow dishonest vendors to hide their dishonest practices. That is like ECF supporting crooked vendors.

Hey 420smiles,

I know your not happy with me after last night and I would like to make a public apology to you for jumping on your thead. After much thought over this whole situation I have to say I agree with you on your matter with Jay at Great Lakes Vapor. As an owner of a business myself and thinking about the whole thing, I think Jay could have made himself look like a hero and just taken care of you over such a small amount or no matter the amount and gained way more respect doing so and probably could have gotten 50 referals for his business between you and the people in that thread last night. I just wanna be a stand up guy and say I was wrong for jumping in again and saying what I did, you sound like a good guy and I would rather make a friend out of this with an ECF member than any enimies.I hope you accept my apology it is for real and so am I.

Thank You
Matthew Ahern

Do you really think that if a vendor were dishonest all the time that deleting posts would hide that fact? There was just a vendor that was run off due to poor business practices. This was done through word of mouth on this very forum.

Your assertion that ECF would condone this practice is baseless and ridiculous.

You have had your say on this issue (in more than 1 thread). I suggest you contact the vendor to work it out or let it go and move on.

I didn't say ECF supported that......I said it is "LIKE" ECF does. There is a difference in "ARE" and "LIKE"

Things are being taken care of, and as soon as they are I'm done with the subject. But not till the end of it.

But that last comment you made seems threatening. Like I might get banned for voicing an opinion. Forums are for expressing ones self in an open forum......right? Am I risking being kicked out of ECF for discussing my experience with a vendor who is here too?

My last comment was a factual statement. You have started 2 distinct threads on this issue. If there are any other threads started about this issue, you will be beating a dead horse and you will receive an infraction for doing so.

Is that clear enough?

Like I said...I started a thread to dicuss the issue. He is threatening to delete it......that is the only reason I started this thread. I'm not trying to be difficult......I'm trying to voice my opinion. When my opinion was threated by deletion, I started a thread with a different title and different subject matter. I only mention the other thread once and have never slandered him as a person.

But when the people in control tell you to shut up.....you got no other alternative but to shut up.........right?
