What does everyone think of the Kanger T3 at this point?

My T3s date back to early October and I've been very pleased with them. The 2.4 ohm heads are the original 2 hole version. Only recently I had to retire one of the originals due to careless cleaning and resultant disappearance of the coil wick. As a matter of course, I replace the loose wicks with a single 1.5mm or 2mm silica wick which has worked quite well with my 60/40-80/20 juices. I dry burn and change out the loose wick every dozen fills or so. A few weeks ago, I got a couple of the MT3s and with the loose wick replacement, they perform as well or better than the T3s. Not sure why however because the guts appear to be exactly the same. I did super glue one of the 3 holes shut on the MT3 due to the over airy draw.

Performance has been excellent on both my Vamo and Spinners. I'm a chain vaper and the M/T3 is the only clearo capable of keeping up with me. I tried a Vivi for a couple of days and got tired of the tip swirl and toot routine very quickly. The Vapeonly BCC, thus far has been a huge disappointment with burning and dry hits at just about any voltage/wattage I've tried. So, yeah, the T3 is my hands down go-to device. At least until I try out the Kanger ProTank.

I picked up several of these things. I have had just horrid luck with them. Scratchy throat, gurgling, dry hits, leaking, muted flavor, juice in the mouth, crazy inconsistency from one to the next, and I think that sums up just about every single thing you would not want out of a clearomizer.

I know these things got super high praise from some people at first. I am just wondering if there are lots of people like me out there that got these things and are thinking double you tee the funk are people raving about? Or do I just have the worst luck?

When I got my T3 I really didn't get on with it. Airy, gurgling, juice in the mouth, bad tastes and general "ick". However, right now I love it.

Originally I tried it on an Ego-C battery. Then I tried it on a Provari. Then on the upgraded Ego-C battery. I used various HHV juices so take that to be a fairly good constant. I also got some replacement bases.

The only differences I can think of between the bad and good times are:
Voltages
New bases
Me not being so much of a newbie :)

With a slightly higher voltage on the upgraded Ego-C battery and the Provari the T3 has really come alive and there's a better taste. Also, the new base seems to have eliminated the gurgling. The other thing I am now doing is filling up the T3. Previously I was trying it with just a little juice. After a good full tank through it, it's better.

Finally, I noticed that I did get a funky taste. This also seemed to contaminate new juice. Turns out is was the mouthpiece- flush some soap down there and give it a good rinse.

Overall the T3 has improved with age. My preferred choice is still the T2 with the long wicks though.

I always fill it all the way up, and vape it straight through to the bottom. Thanks for the tip on the mouthpiece! I use a pipe cleaner to clean it thoroughly.

I switched from the straight eGo style set up with a twist, and later a wider tank style ....to the Kanger T3, and a Spinner, and I love it to pieces .....no problems at all .....I still have taste go in and out, but I think the fault lies in my taste buds, not the Kanger.....

and what's more they're much cheaper than Joye set up ....the cheapest I ever found atomizers forthe eGo was $5 each, and the ones for the Kanger are $2.50 each, ...and the Joye ones were unreliable as all get out.....some lasted only a day or 2......

and the Kanger itself is cheaper by about 1/2 than the Joye collar and cone .....

altogether a much bettr deal ....

Onze more thing ....I used to have to use a strip of fine sandpaper to unscrew the cone a lot of the time when I needed to replace the atomizer, those knurls make it much easier to take apart ....

( same for the twist vs the spinner ....the knurled knob is easier to turn and the markings are easier to see ....

They tend to work best if you top them off when they get about a 1/3 full. If they get below that point some of the gurgles and leaks seem to have a better chance to surface. Try topping off at that point and see if there is an improvement.

I've found this to also be the case with me.

I try to fill at 1/2, When I have a rare gurgle, usually after it being horizontal for awhile or just refilled, I put a piece of tissue over the mouthpiece and draw on it a couple times. I also plugged one of the air holes with a piece of toothpick when I found the draw to be too "airy".

I've filled it probably 10 or 12 times so far. Cleaned it a couple days ago and replaced the flavor wick with .3mm (disintegrated when I dry burned). I really like the T3, especially after Cearomizers. The Clearomizers were ok, but the flavor and vapor on the T3 are outstanding. I use a Spinner at 4.3v. When I receive an adapter, I plan to use on a Vamo I just purchased.

I've ordered a few more and materials to re-coil and re-wick them. I found the following videos interesting:

I watched these videos a while back and wish I had found them earlier. Very very handy! I got some wire and silica wick The wick I found was 3.5 mm and 1.5 mm, so I got a coil of each. I could not find the 1 mm, but that is OK because I don't have one of those wire needles either.

I made the coil with the 4/40 bolt with NO problem, then wet the end of the 3.5 mm wick in my mouth and threaded it into the coil. Getting that sucker back together was a bit of a challenge the first time. LOL :censored: I used the 1.5 mm thread as the "over" thread on top of the coil. Next time I will use 2 pieces over the coil. BUT it works great the way it is. No leaks and only a tiny bit of gurgle from the air going in.

Hats off and much gratitude to VapingwithDave for the videos, AND to NickSteel for reposting them! :toast:

Just got my T3 and Mt3 no leaking or gurgles on either one but the flavor is better on
my CE3's. Will try to rewick with cotton from another post by floatingtrem on ECF and see if it helps.

The flavor you may be having is probably coming from the primer juice they put on the wicks. That stuff is nasty. ONE of the replacement heads came with it on it, the other one did not. I tried to wash it off but the wick came out with the water running over it. Luckily I had more wire and wick to make a replacement. I won't have to worry about that any more now that I can make coils and wicks.

I brought two Kanger T3. Both produce little vapor. If I take longer drags or increase the voltage, I get burned taste. Maybe mine are knock-off? Maybe I should try the T2 from another vendor and see if I can get a better luck with these Kangers.

I took out one of the flavor wicks and filled 1 air hole with the end of a toothpick. Also, I set on 6w, don't let the tank fall below 1/2 and draw slowly. If I vape rapidly or increase watts, I also get burned taste. For me, slow even drags result in better flavor and cool vapor. I find similar results with clearomizers and vivi novas. If you get it just right, it's very nice. If not, it's not so great. I don't find it necessary to produce large amounts of vapor to have enjoyment. On the T3, I continue to draw for a couple seconds after releasing the button.

Maybe they did, better now after using for awhile but still thik the CE3's give better taste.
Bottom line is I like and will use and buy more.

OK Now, I just finished playing around with this thing after re-wicking and re-coiling it. There was a good amount of gurgling with the new set up using the 3.5 mm wick and an overlap of 1.5 mm wick. So I took the overlap out of it and am using only the 3.5mm wick. The gurgling stopped and I am getting an increase in the vaper, and a reduction of pull on the draw.

I did find the very tinyist bit of juice on the top of the center post of the battery, but it was just the tinyist bit. I am using it on a Volt X-2 that has the sealed eGo post, so there is no problem there. When I have to re-coil it again down the road I will increase the wick to 3 pieces of the 1.5 mm wick and see if it stops the leak. I also will be looking for 1mm silica wick and try 4 layers of it. If I can not find a bead wire needle I have some heavy duty quilting thread to use in pulling it through the coil.

This time I used a 4-3 wrap with the coil, the next time I may increase it to a 5-4 wrap just being sure it is not touching the coil post. That should not screw up the resistance very much. BUT all in all, I am very happy with the tank and see no problems with it.
