I'd been trying to quit for over twenty years with no long term success and a friend showed up with some cigalikes. He said they'd worked for him and I figured I'd give it a shot. Fortunately, he'd already done some research and steered me to ECF, so my first vape was actually a mod (Janty stick). I did wind up trying cigalikes later on, but if I'd thought that was as good as it got, I never would have stuck with it. Now, I'm a modder, make my own juice and am getting ready to order my first rba

It all comes down to heath benefits for me. Getting on 50, my subconscious recognized that if I didn't quit soon I was really, really risking dying of some horrible, disfiguring, lingering disease. My conscious saw a cigalike in a drug store and was intrigued. Tried it, liked it, was given a 510 kit as a gift, never looked back

What made me start was the best friend dragging me to the local B&M.
What made me continue was the health and money-saving.

Okay, the money saving hasn't really hit yet, even after over 4 months, but I swear, it will!!!
Thought I was the only one. She also bought me my first eGo kit :)

To the OP: What got you into vaping?

Morning cough
Sore throat
Burnt car seats, recliners, clothes
Nasty smell on clothes
More frequent colds and upper respiratory issues along with longer recovery times
$6+ a pack @ a minimum pad

To celebrate our 20th anniv. my partner informed me that 20 years living with a smoker and all its negatives was all she was willing to do. I had no desire to be single, so I knew I had to finally quit. But, man I loved smoking.....I was spending more on nic. gum then I ever did on cigs and wasnt very much fun to live with. I heard an ecig commerical-ordered a disposable from Volcano ecigs and instantly knew it was ALOT better then the gum and it was something my partner could live with. To make a long story short, I found ecf, bought a good entry level ecig kit and fell in love with all things vaping. Havent had a cig since. The best part is that each years anniv. I get any new ecig I want. Just got my 4th Provari and celebrated our 24th anniv.

I love to tell this story. it was My Mom. She had a few nurse friends who used them and she passed it on to me. She sent me a few magizine artical clippings at which I first disreguarded. But one day I had a real bad bronchitis. I looked up eCig on the net and found this place..... Now 6.75 month off and all the joy of you people! I use eGos with what ever works for me.

Years ago I had a guest at work have me try hers. It was intriguing. I bought a Smoke51, which I returned unopened after I read the reviews. Found ECF and TW and picked up an eGo kit from them. Well, the cartridge system sucked and I couldn't get the hang of dripping. Tea bags and blue foam were prevalent, but I never tried them. I went to smoking. Then last summer I was using my original setup in a situation where I couldn't smoke and decided to see if things had improved. They had. Got an eGo T kit and that got me down to about 1/2pad. Discovered Vivi Novas and the Twist and I've been vaping full-time since I got those.

Once cigarettes hit $10/pack in NY I knew I had to quit. I've quit several times, for as long as a year but kept going back to smoking. I bought a V2 kit, which got me off of them, but it was a very frustrating two months with them. I finally found ECF and read everything I could. I'm at almost a year and finally have a setup and juices that I'm happy with. If I hadn't found this forum, I'm sure I would have just given up and gone back to smoking again.:)

One of my sons friends has been vaping along time and he told my son about it. He asked me and his dad to go and I got a ego kit that night. That was on June 4th. My hubby has had a lil tougher time than I have. Its crazy cause usually I make a date and plan on quitting. This time I just did it and its worked great for me. I'm so glad I found out about vaping. I feel so much better. :)

I tried it before a few years ago with stick-styles. Hated it. Recently by buddy got into it with an eGo mini style. He has stage 1 throat cancer. A month of watching him vape got me interested in the cartomizers and such... Went out and invested in a TW Tornado-T mini rcs. Then I was hooked. Had to get a bigger mod, went with the itaste svd and a protank. Don't ever want a cigarette again!

Some folks in the "smoking pit" at work. I asked about their devices, benefits of vaping etc. All very helpful people that didn't try to evangelize - just the facts. Then I went up three floors worth of stairs one day - very tight, very vertical stairs - and that cinched it.

I don't try to preach about vaping... but I catch myself spewing out my experiences of it. Once someone preached to me... I didn't even look into getting a device until over a month later. I regret not getting one sooner. I was one of those, "I've been smoking for 9 years, I might as well keep smoking" type of guys. Now I try to tell people that say that to me, that I was once like them. I didn't plan on quitting. I walked into a shop to check it out. Walked out after spending $50 I was saving for a tattoo. Ended up being the best thing that's happened to me in my life. I know a quit smoking. I bummed a half of a drag yesterday off my favorite cig. I choked, it tasted nasty, it smelled awful, and left a horrible after-taste. I just wanted to see what I wasn't missing out on.

Not only have I already noticed a huge difference in my breathing and sense, I gained the, "I just beat cigarettes, I can do anything" attitude.

I'm a very active guy that loved to smoke (a pack a day). I enjoy the outdoors and love to fish, hunt, and spend time with my dog. I had to go get my dog after chasing a rabbit to my neighbors house (dog don't listen to ..... after in "hunt mode"). I walked back up the hill (about 2 acres) and was out of breath. I'm not over weight (145lbs) and my blood work comes back excellent at every checkup. I felt like I had no reason to quit until I had to run after my dog on a bitter cold morning and was gasping for air. Worst feeling of my life. A friend at work had a Blu cig. I decided to try it. I went all night without a cig. Found this forum and have not lit up for over 4 months now. Feel 10 years younger. Had no idea how much cigs were dragging me down. The first three days after quitting, I noticed my pee and skin had a funny smell. I'm sure it was from detoxing from all the poison in the cigs. I LOVE to vape. Ordered a Provari and should be here Thursday. A friend of mine (same friend that turned me on to the Blu) let me try his w one of my Pro Tanks. I was sold. I still have my enjoyment and my health. Win win.

Like so many others, I smoked too much for too long. 1 - 1.5 PAD 30 yrs. I was tired of coughing my self to sleep and waking up coughing. For my 45th birthday my brother was going to buy me the pricey dueling quality lightsaber of my choice so i could take a lightsaber stage choreography class. Yes, I am that guy. After spending weeks deciding on the perfect saber I told him that I wanted an e-cig instead. Best decision I ever made!

After 25+ years of smoking, a cancer battle, and turning 40, I decided on a lifestyle change for the better. Started with those crummy NJoy cig-a-likes and ended up getting my first kit....then my second kit, then my third kit. I'll freely admit that I still hit the "analogs" every now and again but my consumption of them has dropped dramatically. Was a point in my life where I'd burn through 2 cartons of "analogs" in 2 weeks, but since I started vaping, I might smoke at the most 3 packs in 2 weeks if even that. Vaping is my main source of nicotine but there are times where your battery dies and you didn't grab the car charger, forgot your back-up juice, or just have one of those days where you would rather choke down an "analog" rather than choke out whomever is just grating on your last nerve. But as I continue vaping, my "analog" use is slowly diminishing and hopefully gone for good.
