Wanted to smoke but hated cigs. When I found out I could vape candy flavors in 0mg nico I was sold....

Same with me. The only times I got to smoke is when fishing. When the smell wouldn't stick to my cloths. Now I can vape all I want, with no worries about smelling like an ashtray!

Needed to quit, did.
Wanted to save money, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Well 1 out of two ain't bad.

^That is so full of win.

Long story short, my doctor told me I was in the early stages of getting emphysema, so I knew I had to quit. I had a grandfather who died of emphysema in 1982, and it was a slow, ugly, painful death. I visualized the same happening to me, I was frightened out of my mind. Fear can be a powerful motivator. Plus, after 31 years, I was just sick of it anyway.

I actually got started by passing one of those kiosks in the mall. I did try the ecig there & was surprised to find that it actually felt like smoking. I had been considering my smoking habit at that time & was thinking that I wished I could still smoke but not smoke cigarettes (lol) because I actually like the act of smoking. I just don't like a bunch of other secondaries that go with it.

So I'm not the type to impulse buy really so after trying the ecig in the mall I did some research about it. I bought 2 starter packs, very different types, and 1 I used a lot (the blu) and the other I ended up abandoning pretty quickly (volcano's whatever it was with an ego style battery, tank & other nonsense). I did end up changing my main device to an ego with vivi nova mini tank but I still like my cigalike.

I had no intention of quitting smoking when I started vaping. I started so that I could "smoke" in a lot of places that I couldn't. I work in a large mill, there is only 1 place in the plant that I could smoke, that was a big PITA for me. So I figured I could augment my smoking with vaping. But the more I vaped the less I wanted to smoke, and eventually I just quit smoking all together :) WINNING!

For the last three years my youngest boy has been after me and the hubby to quit smoking. In the last year I started getting a smokers cough. I wanted to quit but knew from the last three times I wouldn't be able to unless hubby quit too (there's a reason this is my fourth try. With hubby smoking it was too easy to start again). A little over a month ago the hubby came home with a starter kit. The next day I got mine. I smoked a half pack the next week instead of two PAD. My counter shows how long since my last coffin nail. After 20 years I'm finally off analogs. Even if hubby starts smoking again I know I wont. The smokers cough is gone, I can breathe better& my sense of smell and taste is starting to come back. I don't have to go outside anymore when I want a nic fix. The best thing is my son is happier and I'll be here for both my boys a lot longer. Also they're no longer exposed to second hand smoke. My only regret is I didn't start sooner.

The constant trying to quit, then sneaking a cig here and there. FInally my daughter asking if I was smoking again and in tears....chantix keeping me from sleeping and upsetting my stomach...I started buying the disposables from the stores. Then went online to find an e cig store-found one at a mall kiosk and never really looked back (Have had a couple cigs here and there every few months but even that has stopped). It has now been over a year and a half....and I discovered this forum. ANd now this past month I have been like a kid in a candy store...ordered juices from at least 6 vendors, and bought a new vamo. Also have 2 iTaste SVDs in the mail and have been trying all the different types of cartos.. New addiction-what fun and my daughter is very happy! Also have had Drs now asking me for more information and very intrigued with the idea.

Ive tried quitting cigs so many times and ended up buying a pack the same day i was supposed to quit. I actually quit cold turkey while in basic training but the day i got out of basic i lit up. I came across a Blu disposable about 2 months ago and bought one. I didnt like it very much but i thought it was neat. I had this plan to buy like 10 disposable Blu cigs because i didnt even know you could get the rechargeable starter kits lol. Well i was on you tube and i typed in electronic cigarettes and i found Grimm green, pbusardo, indoorsmokers and smokenjoey. Those channels opened me up to a whole new world. I finally quit for good this time and ive been telling everyone about it.

My aunt was telling me how I could save all this money by switching to vaping. ( Couponing/moneysavingaholic here!) So I started to check it out and then spent way too much money on crappy starter kits. In the process of this, my dad suffered his second bout with congestive heart failure and his kidneys shut down. He almost died. Scared the holy living bejeezus out of me and my family. While he was still in the ICU, I was talking with his doctor trying to find out what it is that I could do to help my Pops, and he said it might be possible to give him a kidney, but only if I quit smoking. I OFFICIALLY hit my three month mark like 11 days ago, and I'm trying to now talk my dad to start testing with me since his fistula just cured enough for usage, so I can give the man an organ. He's stubborn as crap, though. (lol. It runs in our family.) Hopefully soon we can get our testing started and underway so I can give him the kidney he needs to stay around a WHOLE lot longer ( he just retired about three weeks before this happened.) and I can have my Pops around a lot longer. It seems like this has been the slowest three months that I can remember, though.

I got into vaping in the fall of 2010, mainly out of curiosity's sake. Started out with a vaporkings starter kit...cigalike kits with manual batteries. After a couple days of killing both batteries and resorting to my emergency pack of Marlboro Reds, I got a PCC. After the PCC crapped out in about December 2010, I gave up and didn't order more. Spring of 2012 I got back into it again with eGo predecessor batteries. It was pretty good. Discovered Vaporbomb at this point and had a lot of flavors. After my e-cigs were confiscated by cops (ugh!!!) I didn't order replacements.

I'm back into it now, and am grateful that there's more affordable and reliable stuff out there you can actually depend on. Vast improvements. I'm convinced this time around and want to stick with it. Overall I prefer it because it's better than the best of both worlds at this point. Switching over the third time I was able to cold turkey from analogs ASAP. that's a key sign. Once I get my sense of taste and smell back, I'm looking forward to vaping the most flavorful stuff out there. Seriously. About time! This is so much better than analogs. The comparison is like using Cups with strings vs. an iPhone.

Ironically, I started vaping as a punishment for the many failed attempts at quitting smoking. I figured, well if I'm going to smoke, I'm going to smoke something a little healthier, despite how bad it tastes and how quick the battery dies (I made a snap judgement after borrowing my friends cig-a-like for an afternoon).

To my surprise, I fell in love with vaping. I started six weeks ago with an eGo, just got a Vamo, did a lot of research and have found juices/tank combos that taste amazing ...

However, I will say this, after six weeks, it's still a love-hate relationship. Love being healthier, love love the taste of some juices ... Hate the inconsistency with mods, tanks, cartos, etc ... Hate that I have to buy everything online except for juice ... Hate waiting for vape mail...SOOO wish my local B&M's were more reasonably priced on equipment ...

for a while i was pretty fed up with my decision to take up smoking. i started smoking relatively late (19), and i did not smoke for very long (5 years). i recognized for over a year that tobacco was an unsustainable habit. i was also smoking 50g of hand rolled unfiltered tobacco every 4 days pretty consistently. i was a gymnast for 13 years and a coach for 5 years, and the state of poor health i was in was startling. i would wake up each day coughing uncontrollably, and my hair and hands would smell like stale smoke. i was kind of a jerk and smoked inside my home, and i only had myself to blame for my cat's wheezing.
i came close to quitting altogether, but i started a couple jobs in an environment that was too friendly to smokers. i knew, and was jealous of, a couple i knew who quit with ego-t's. once i looked a little into the concept of bulk liquid and rechargeable batteries, i spent my entire tobacco budget on e-cig stuff. it wasn't my intent to quit tobacco as fast as i did, but i'm glad it was a natural transition for me. i don't really have very many fond memories about my first kit, but it got me started.

Well i started smoking when my fiance died. She passed away in my arms in a coma and i pulled everything out of her pockets looking for her id for the ambulance driver and the hospital staff she had marbro cigs as she was a smoker. At the hospital waiting to see weather they could do anything for her and i started smoking the cigs they came out and told me they couod do nothing and that she had passed away before the ambulance arived and i had smoked ever since. Two years total. Finally i came out of my depression and went back to work and started to get counciling. It was my counciler who told me about vaporizers, so i asked my regular doctor about personal vaporizers and she gave me the ok and said it wouod be the best thing for me. So i went on the internet and did some research and found this site then did some more research and found a vape shop right near my house that is honest and fairly priced. They carry ego kanger products itaste iclears mechanical mods and even provari along with mbv and diy flavor shack vape juice so i set myself up with an ego tw
ist 2 boge cartos tanks and a mechanical mod the k 100 with the agi. The vape shop has nice leather couches and two flatscreens so you can chill and vape, needless to say i spent a lot of time there chilling and vaping and the owner taught me to build coils drip and how to wick a genny. That was a wiles ago now i only go there for mbv juice when i want to try a small bottle of something before i make abig order .

I sort of turned vaping into a hobby to keep my mind off things. I dove right into mechanicals and rba's right off the bat and got ahold of it real quick with the shop owner helping me every other day .

Edit. . . Iam 31 and i smoked for two years of serious deprssion i stopped when i started vaping a year or more ago.
