I've been "collecting" for a while. I collect backups for my backups' backups' backups.

so far:
3 SX350J Boxer mods, a Renegade X SX350j & an SXM M Class (retired)
6 or so RX200s
A few P4U dual 18650 mods - retired
3 or 4 Crown tanks and over 100 .25Ω coils
I only use them when reading in bed and when I hike so Crown coils last me about a month.
2 MT RTAs, a Mutank and a leaky AF VCMT - retired
Aromamizer V1, V2, Supreme & 2 Augvape Boreas
2 Velocity clones
about 5 Provari V2.5 and 4 more for Mrs. M
about 5 nautilus & mini tanks for us + a boatload of coils, parts, spare tanks & bases
A Hypebuki Kabuki for some odd expensive reason
A few KFL+ clones and a Russian91 - retired
About a dozen enjoyable drip tips
Extra o-rings, glass, screws, etc

I DIY very good juice so I can barter for hardware & repairs as needed
I'll continue to collect RX200s & other awesome mods/rebuildables for 2018+ barter if needed
I'll load a large Priority box with refillable beginners gear & ego batts before the feces FDA rules strike

Learn to build/wick coils for yourself & friends.
Learn to make good DIY for yourself & friends and to barter with modmakers

CYA & fight like hell for future generations of vapers' right to vape

Not stockpiling at all. I am going with what I have. Think I have enough to last my wife and I a lifetime. Not worth even worrying about right now. All negotiations you shoot for the moon and settle for the launch pad. I think things will settle down considerably when the new rules are enacted upon.

Just think it will be easier for you to buy a pistol or a rifle than vape gear. To me that is scary! After all you do not want an uneducated person to blow off a couple of his own fingers with a 18650. LOL

CHEERS!
wonder if there will be a waiting period for batteries and box mods lol

Hi folks,

Just curious about what tanks and mods everyone is planning to purchase for their hardware stockpile, and in what sort of numbers?

Vapocalypse? ... I'm good to go

I'm planning for 10 years. Longer feels neurotic. The Pico and vtc mini do everything I need. The only atomizer I use any more is the SV rda clone from FT. The wear points on mods seem to be the 510 threading and the fire button. Sincee I only use one atomizer I'm not removing it very often. 400,000 clicks of the fire button is 2 years of use for me (if you track daily clicks on the vtc puff counter you can get that number). The magnets holding the vtc battery door will loose force over time so those need to be servicable. The battery door on the Pico is threaded. I charge the battery on board so I won't be wearing that very fast. I'll keep both mods in silicone sleeves. Sv rda clones are $9 each. The threaded parts should last at least a couple years each, may be longer.

My DIY uses only 1% flavoring so I don't need to replace wire more than once every 2 weeks or more. I've settled on 28 guage stainless. 50m roles of that from FT are about $5. I'll get a couple more bags of cotton. Those are so cheap why mess around?

I don't know if I would go back to smoking. I hope not but I don't know. 10 years of smoking a carton a week would cost me $30,000. I thinks it's just as important to save that money as protect my health so I'm not over spending on this process. 'Time is money' takes on a new meaning with vaping vs smoking. There is a documentary coming called A Billion Lives. May be it needs to be renamed A Billion Criminals.

For rebuilders, there's only three main things to worry about: Mods, Attys, and eliquid.

18650s are used for all kinds of applications. They'll still be available. To be on the safe side, companies may slap on a "Not for use in ENDS", but they'll still be available.

Same thing for wire. Specialty wires packaged / designed just for vaping may go away, but kanthal, nichrome, ss316, etc have way too many applications outside of vaping. They'll still be around.

Likewise for cotton - there's no way the FDA can stop anyone from selling cotton balls or cotton pads.

Eliquid - most premixed juice is gonna go away, but there's always DIY. Food flavorings, PG, and VG will still be around. Some suppliers of liquid nicotine base will probably still be around, but prices will probably go up. I'm gonna stockpile 100mg nic liquid over the next 2 years just to be safe. It'll keep nearly indefinitely in the freezer.

However, most mods and atomizers are certain to fall under the ENDS category. For the next 2 years, I'm gonna be buying devices based on how likely they are to last or how easily they can be repaired. If all else fails, I have a couple mech mods and variety of RDAs. They're not likely to break, and if they do I can probably repair them.

I have about 10 of my fav tanks and 20 some spare glass, several replacement bases, RBA decks and lots of oring sets. Enough wire for prolly 50 years. Enough NIC for 15 years. And Saveral mech mods and parts to build more.
Several regulated mods, which can be converted to mosfet mechs or Hexohm style VV mods if the regulated mod goes belly up and I can't get parts to fix it.
Enough flavorings and PG/VG for a couple of years on hand.
And enough batteries for a couple of years.
Have also several Drippers and prolly 40 clearos I can rebuild the cols for.

I have 10 assorted regulated mods and 3 mech mods, 4 RDAs, 9 tanks of which 5 have RBA sections and another 2 that I can order RBA sections for, I have ordered 2 more liters of Nic so I will have at least 5 liters of 100 mg. I also ordered a couple of RTAs. I have plenty of spare parts and supplies for both my RDAs and Tanks and my DIY.
I want to order another couple of my favorite mod just because I love it and maybe another mech mod just in case. I will also order the RBA sections for those 2 tanks and spare coils for my tanks without RBA sections, just a couple of boxes for each for emergencies, so I am almost done. Now I have to work on improving my brother's vape stash and getting him to order some nic too.;)

If anything I'll get a few more EVOD BCCs and eGo/Vision batteries. Maybe another RDA since I don't really care for the Plume Veil. I got nicotine in the freezer and a spool of 28g Kanthal; my needs are not overly sophisticated or demanding.
I think that electronicstix still have evods for $1.50.

Fortunately, aside from additional concentrated nicotine to store in my freezer, I've been stocking up for a few years already and there's nothing more that I need. I have enough high-end mechanical mods and RBAs to last several lifetimes. I have a bunch of spares too - o-rings, glass, screws, etc. Although I don't really use KFLs anymore, I have a slew of them with spare parts a plenty if I need them. I'm not worried about being able to get batteries, cotton, or Kanthal for my no-nonsense single coil builds. What I will miss the most are the commercial eliquids that I currently enjoy. I'm capable of DIY, but my stuff just doesn't taste as good as my favorites (yet).
