Ok, I did it. I opened up my RM2 to 1/16th. I kept the same coil 30ga Kanthal (1.34 ohm) around the same 1/16th drill bit and wicked it with Cellu-cotton (I have plenty if anyone needs some). The issue is, the incredible flavor I was receiving with the stock hole has all but evaporated. I am getting excellent vapor production and I love the draw, but the flavor went from outstanding to meh. The flavor on my p-device with a carto-tank is currently putting my beloved REO/RM2 combo to shame.

What have I done wrong and do y'all have any ideas to get my flavor back?

I took mackman's advise and put tape over the hole and used a paperclip (small) to open the hole and the flavor did not improve dramatically, so I am thing my real issue is my build. When I get home from work, I will rebuild coil and play with the the wick.

Thanks for the quick response guys!

I enjoy real smooth flavors but a real tough and heavy vape. I love large airholes and YES, the flavor is muted. I find that the lower your ohms, the better the flavor.

You might try placing coil/wick closer to deck than before.

Less air = more flavor, More air = more vapor.
I drilled my REO cap to 3/64" and found it just right as the stock was a bit too tight a draw and 1/16" and was to airy for me. Just a little difference in size makes big difference! Always better to go smaller, try then enlarge little by little.

I really did think I was taking baby steps. Oh well, I might just wait until Rob puts the new RBAs up on the site and go that route.

Can you post a pic of your coil? Maybe the coil just needs to be moved is all. Up, down, forward, or back... I found when I coiled my Trident for the first time the other day it was a very anemic vape. I thought I had everything in sync, but after a little fiddling I found that because I had larger air holes I had not raised the coil enough and the air flow was going right over top of the coil. Didn't realize it till I put it up to the light. Couldn't even see the coils through the air holes. Long story short, moved the coils up about 1/8" and BAM....vaping bliss. The world fell back into alignment...

Vape quality is balance of air flow, coil ohms, coil size and placement relative to air flow. You changed one of those without the others, so now you have to play with the others to try get close to what you want. Move the coil closer to the air hole and lower the ohms. IF you got it go with a 28 ga wire

With all of this talk about moving coils, I just want to throw out there that I like my coils as close as humanly possible to the little hole the juice is coming out of.
Try moving the coil out to right in front of the air hole, take a wrap off the coil to make up for the longer legs (who doesn't like longer legs). you might be surprised at the change in the vape.

Thanks to all! I have basically performed all of the suggestions with the exception of the JB Weld. I rebuilt the coil to .64 ohms (7 wraps around a 1/16th drill bit) with 26ga Kanthal, re-wicked with the Cellu-cotton (love that stuff), raised the coil height to approximately level with the air hole, placed it closer to the outside and it is working like a champ. Copious amount of very flavorful vapor, however I do have to go directly to the lungs for it to be comfortable. I will have to fiddle around a bit to determine which technique solved the issue, but thanks to everyone for the suggestions. The combinations of suggestions won the day!

I am probably going to buy another RM2 (or perhaps beg Rob to let me buy just a cap) for the standard air flow, as well. I quite like the new setup, but I like to semi-stealth vape at my desk at work and this setup is nothing close to stealthy, impressive, but not stealthy.

How long have you been using Cellucotton? First, second, etc.

I have been using it for about 2 weeks. It has worked very well for all my builds. So far, I have wicked 3 different KFL (original and clones), the RM2 (of course), and an iGo L. All in all, I believe it is the best wicking material I have tried. I have enough that I am giving some of it away to friends that vape and a couple of folks at the local B&Ms.
