Congratulations PRISM!!!!!!!!!!! Party party!!! let us know how you like the food NUMMY!!!!

and now for a couple bacon recipes... :)

7-layer salad

ingredients:
BACON (cooked crisp and cooled)
lettuce
garden peas ,celery, red peppers, green onions (I leave out sometimes)
whatever "salad-type" thing you like.. just so you have 3 veggies in addition to lettuce
dressing (instructions below)
parmi cheese

To layer: get a big bowl and add layers IN THIS ORDER (very important to preserve freshness)
lettuce
veggie choice#1
veggie choice#2
veggie choice#3
BACON (break into pieces)
Dressing: spread mayo mix on first covering as much of the salad as possible, then spread the sour cream mix on next covering as much as possible. Do not stir the two together, but it's important to cover any holes (size of bowl is important here.. tall and thin is better to make this work)
Parmi cheese to liking

Can be made a day ahead (actually better that way!) DELISH!!

to make dressing: mix 1 cup mayo with 1.5 tsp vinegar, in separate bowl mix 3/4 cup sour cream with 1/4 cup sugar

and

Old World Sauerkraut Supper (like a Reuban melt)

in crock pot

3 (plus) strips of bacon, cooked and cut up
1/4 cup onion
2 Tbsp flour
1 can sauerkraut (I've used fresh cabbage too.. just flash it first)
2 Tbsp brown sugar
5 links Polish Sausage (I like the Hillshire cheese brats for this)
1/2 cup water

1. Sautee' onions, boil sausage 5-1o mins, fry bacon till crisp, drain, reserve drippings
2. add flour to bacon to flour drippings (make roux) stir in bacon, onion
3. drain and rinse kraut. Layer in cooker 1/2 kraut, bacon mix
4. add sausages, then remaining kraut and bacon mix (water if needed)

Cook on high 3.5 hours Serve on kaiser rolls (good with melted cheese and thousand island dressing too!)

As weird as that sounded at first, it has me curious... a smokey maple chocolate...??
I would LOVE to try it, if you don't mind  (since Lox didn't seem interested... lol)

Kitty, PM me your info and I will send you a bottle. Then you can report to Lox what an adventure he missed! ;)

I have already thanked Jan for sending me the sample, and I'm sorry I haven't posted my 'review' sooner... :?:
I had to hunt this thread down because I thought this would be the perfect place to post it... plus I wanted to get that recipe for Chocolate Bacon Bark... LOL!!

I was expecting the flavors to be stronger, but they are really quite mild... at first I could taste the Chocolate and another sweetness, not too much Maple, and then a smokey hit in the back of my throat. It seemed like I could taste more of the bacon on the exhale... and it leaves a very faint, pleasant taste of maple bacon lingering in your mouth!!
I vaped almost 1/2 of the 3ml in the 1st sitting... :vapor: and am saving what is left for when I make that Bark (nothing like bacon overload... ha!!).

I wanted to thank Jan again for giving me the opportunity to try something new and different that I never would have thought to try on my own... and believe it or not, I would actually buy this juice... I only wish that they had a flavor boost option.

I would recommend it to even non- bacon lovers... I bet if you vaped it, and nobody told you what it was, that you would like it!! :p
