The State of Confusion
I have read many of these posts and we do have to worry about the government!

They few will screw the masses!

It's all about control and money, nothing else!

If the government had any sense they would legalize the :censored: and tax it, everyone would have the munchies, we would have no deficit, and no one would care about e-cigs anymore because they were intoxicate!

But seriously we cannot just sit by and let ignorant people dictate how we want to live in a FREE country!

Our founding fathers are all rolling over in their graves over what this country has become!

While we do preach Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness, and open our boarders to everyone we are slowly killing ourselves by misinterpreting our own Constitution!

You know what parenting has taught me?

No matter what you do, no matter how hard you work at it, no matter how you control the environment your kids live in...sometimes things still go wrong. Some kids still do bad things, some kids still make bad choices. As parents, we do what we can, but ultimately, the kids still have to do the right thing when we aren't looking. I used to be the first one to say, "My child will NEVER do X". Ha! What amazing pre-parenting arrogance!

My kids do stuff all the time I swore I would never let 'em do. All I can do is hand out the punishments when they break the rules.

I have four sons. This song is perfect for how I feel about all four.

Exactly. I'm the oldest of seven and my dad is an Ex Vietnam Vet..when rules we're set, we followed. Did we sneak out and do stupid stuff, yes. We were teens and that's what we do. If we got caught, did my dad blame stores we bought alcohol in, the govt., others in general?? NO. He blamed us, he taught us better and we knew better. So we got in trouble...big trouble. No one else was blamed for our own stupidity.

Made us think twice from doing dumb stuff. Today's parents seem to treat their teens like their 5 yrs old. No one gets in trouble, it's always someone else's fault. It just drives me insane how some teens today are so spoiled, entitled and not held accountable. Instead, lets take rights away from other adults because people can't control their own kids. PPFFFFF

That is EXACTLY what my doctor told me- that medically speaking, nicotine is about the same as caffeine- in fact, they are very close as far as effects, risks, etc. And you don't see people freaking out about coffee, or caffeine in sodas.

Double standard in a big way.

Yes--there are those out there that are on that bandwagon too! Actually most everything that you can eat--drink--or smoke, now vape is under attack by some.
IMO--it is due to all the 'studies' out there that are paid for with MY money as the government hands out grant after grant after grant for stupid "studies" that are then reported as gospel by the media.

Actually if you listen carefully--something that is loudly declared 'evil' will ride out for about a year or two...and then another study 'disproves' the old one and the ingredient (caffeine, sweetener etc) is actually good for a certain 'thing'--or for people under or over a certain age. UGGGGGG

No one listens to facts--just hype.

Don't get much response from people when I vape in public... Mostly because when they do start negatively, I come off as a complete ....... to them and they basically leave me alone at that point. In four years of vaping, I pretty much don't have anything to say one way or another to "antis" or others unless they are nice, polite, and truly interested. If someone asks what "that" is, I tell them an e-cig or personal vaporizer, and do not offer anything more. I don't care what their opinion is either, and will tell them that if they start offering. :vapor:

It's all about the revenue stream .
Governments love to use misinformation , and divide and conquer to get their own way .
Eg Weapons of mass destruction ... or weapons of mass detraction .
Bomb the Middle Easts non-existence nukes , and get our hands on the oil .

It seems the worst of the worlds scum and villainy are actually in government of the western world .

Hmmmm a 5'7" 134lb woman isn't getting too much flack either. I've not come across blatant ignorance.......yet.
There are those out there that have their own agendas. Unfortunately they have a loud voice and are getting the attention, for now. We are fighting back which in turn is scaring them. They weren't expecting a fight I'm sure.

We must show a united front in the face of strong opposition. As DC has pointed out, CASAA is an organization for vapers. We are only as strong as our membership. The more members the stronger a voice we have. Join and you will not be fighting alone.

We have managed to stop some legislation from going through. We might have a better chance in others if we had had a louder voice.

Actually, I do remember seeing reports, studies, and warnings over the years about the health hazards of caffeine, around the time all the decaf pop and coffee became popular. Then research found health benefits of caffeinated coffee, (fist pump from this coffee drinker) and suddenly it's not a health hazard any more.

Will there be a parallel path with nicotine? We're in the hysterical phase now. Zero nic vaping is sort of like no-caffeine pop or coffee, continuing the habit without the part deemed dangerous. What happens when long-time nicotine use is found to have health benefits? Research IS finding memory benefits for long-time nicotine users! So now were have a way to help prevent dementia, without the harmful effects of cigs. That research needs more press!

The gateway drug debate is so played out. Everytime something new pops up, that argument is used. According to the gateway theorists, EVERYTHING is a gateway drug. Hell, soda is a gateway drink to all those atrocious energy drinks if you want to put it that way. People have a problem with understanding variables which makes them end up with a false dichotomy.

"You smoke this, then you're definitely going to smoke that"

What about the kids that tried analogs and never touched one again because it was nasty? What about the possibility that the kids who are trying these substances already have a natural inclination towards exploring substances? A kid who is passionate about playing sports is already naturally inclined to try many different ones. They start with kickball... do we call that a gateway sport? What if you've always been a curious person who seeks to learn everything? You take a biology class... is that a gateway class? This argument is so silly when you replace with other activities. Oh, the kid jumped off the jungle jim and had an adrenaline rush. That's a gateway to parkour!

Well I wrote to my MP and he stated he is waiting for some European studies .
I sent him the Igor Burstyn study , and it looks like he is on our side .

Gateway , flavors for kids etc..... all of that crap is the same old stuff they use to outlaw anything they wish .

Give it a month and you can bet that it will be Grand Theft Auto that is a gateway to violence .

It's such a shame that the majority of people are just sheep , blindly following where ever they are led :(

Hey everyone i been a member for a lil while now not that long but I am even doing my own DIY for my flavors... tonight i just wanted to do some searching on the net and checking out any new blogs or posts people are making all over the web (Google searched) and i see so much hate and people calling the e-cigs or as i like to call them "Vaporizers" the gateway for underage smoking ----- Hello! welcome to 2013 america im 29 even when i was in highschool I was smoking cigarettes omg they are acting like this is some sort of epidemic or something.

I see some other ads saying their not safe when there is plenty of blogs and interviews by doctors and scientists and even chemists saying its safer than cigarettes........ And for those of you that disagree because i know your out there based on facts from the CDC cigarettes kill 5 MILLION people yearly.... doubt me? CDC - Fact Sheet - Fast Facts - Smoking & Tobacco Use So i am in a bit of amazement that more and more people aren't just accepting e-cigs / vaporizers. I know a lot of people are for it so thats awesome but i just felt like sharing because I just read some posts for people saying oh it's leading younger people to smoke -- news flash...they already do! and some others just trying to hit points as if this is a perfect serine world without any tobacco or alcohol or ..........

Just thought i would share, more like venting on the subject but i just really dislike people talking out of their @$$ sometimes.

Live long, free and forever Vapor community!!

Most of our population are nothing more than good sheep.
Or better yet....they are Parrots.
They don't stop to give independent thought to the words coming out of their mouth. They simply ECHO or mimic what they hear in pop MEDIA in order to be CONTRARY.
Had a Wal Mart cashier act this way early this morning while having a discussion in line.
None of what she was saying was even close to the reality.

That's why our society is going in the toilet.

Hey ITtechy!!

Edit that post, they do not allow drug references here at all. There is a very good reason for it, too. Just put the :censored::censored: emoticon over the actual reference, okay...

The mods will appreciate it.

Thanks!

It didn't even dawn on me.....

Does it look ok now.....sorry

Sadly, the sheeple have been conditioned to a negative response to the word nicotine in any context. You should see the disbelief on their faces when I inform them that nicotine has not been found to be a carcinogen. Their response is typically "But nicotine is in cigarettes and cigarettes cause cancer".

I recently had some guy tell me how he had heard that "they" are now reporting that ecigs are causing cancer. When I pressed him on exactly where he had heard this he couldn't really give me an answer, but he refused to be convinced that it wasn't true. I then broke the news to him that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny aren't real either but he had every right to believe whatever silly nonsense made him feel good about his little world.

You don't have to agree with me, I can't force you to be right.

If I was enjoying an evening out and some old dude plopped himself next to me and then proceeded to rant on me, he'd quickly earn a "If I wanted or even cared about your opinion, I'd ask, but I didn't. Mind your own business." I'd then move to another seat in the bar. If he continued after that point, or followed me, I'd ask the owner (if he's vape friendly) to keep the old coot away from the other patrons. Otherwise, I'd leave.

There have been almost 400 members view this thread. I sure hope that everyone who reads this thread and isn't already a member of CASAA takes Robin's advice and takes the time to join. And just as importantly, WE have to support CASAA. Even a $1.00 a month will help.

And the more of us who add the CASAA banner to our posts, the more new members will learn that they have a voice against the anti-vaping lies. We just have to use that "voice" by joining and supporting CASAA. Keep up the good fight.
