So I currently use a Volt with an auto battery. Last night both of my batteries died and while I was recharging them I used a USB passthrough to connect my cartos to. The vapor was warm and I noticed a lot more vapor production. The passthrough is manual and has a button, but I think I am getting more voltage than with my auto batteries. Have I lost my mind or is this possible? It might make it easier for me to select my next pv as the flavor and vapor production are greatly enhanced. I appreciate any responses.

Thanks!

Yes its likely that what your experiancing is a constant voltage now. The charged Batts Start off at that level and after 10-20 puffs will settle in several points below whatever the stated voltage is. And then another sharp drop off at the end of the battery cycle. You only actually get the "stated" voltage fresh off the charger for a short time before it diminishes. Passthroughs stay constant.

The older batteries get, the more "worn out" they are and the less performance you get from them. The smaller batteries suffer from this more readily than the larger ones. Also, assuming that the PT has a battery in-line, is it a larger battery????

It's really about amps and volts. The PT is more likely to deliver the needed amps.... if it has a larger battery in-line in particular.

You could also double check that the threads on the batteries are clean as accumulated oxidation/gunk adds resistance and reduces performance.

Guesses. Good Luck!

There are two types of PT's.... with and without battery inline.

Usually, the without-a-battery PT's are 5 volts. That's not 100% guaranteed tho. The one's with an in-line battery are usually 3.7 ish and you vape off the battery, while trickle-charging it via the USB connection.

The 5 volt PTs require a high-amp USB port without a battery and can be hard on the port. Get an AC->USB adapter that can output 2.0 amps or more (that's the important part... there's lot's of em that are only 500 ma [1/2 amps])

Got a link to the specific device and/or kit?

Retriever sir volt batts being gen 2 actually stay at their same voltage until the very last puff (in which it will come out at 3.2v or so on a multimeter). So the voltage should be constant in the range of 3.56-3.71v (3.64v is the average from the 15 I've tested). Sounds like your pt is running hotter than it should. Heard someone else comment on that in the volt thread, they were getting 4.4v instead of the 3.6v it's supposed to be regulated to.
