Hi e-cigarette community, I haven't built coils for a while and just wanted to be on the safe side.

I've got 5 wraps(3mm) on each post(that's the most wraps I can do due to sidewall limitations) And I'm stuck with Kanthal for now(Nickel allergy). When I put in the values on ohms calculator it's showing as I'm pulling 19.74amps which is very close to my battery's amp rating. Is there anything wrong with my setup?

mod: Voopoo Drag 2
tank: Geekvape Zeus ZX RTA(25mm)
Battery: 2x Samsung 25R 18650 2500mAh 20A

Thank you!
:)

Hi and welcome,
Since you are NOT using a mech, the resistance doesn't matter.

Your regulated device has an upper and lower ohm range.
Stay within that range and the device will do the rest.

Hello and thank you Izan.

Should I not worry to exceed my battery's amp rating then? I'm confused..

Nope, not with a regulated mod.
Set the number to what you like and vape until the batteries are dead or the tank is empty.
The device will handle the batteries and work within their capabilities.

Rest assured that unless the chip in the device fails, it will safely fire any coil within is operating (Ω) range.

Vape on!
Cheers

That's a dual battery mod.
Two 25r can handle what you're giving it.
How many watts do you use yours at?

Just use a married pair of the same model. Keep the same pair together from brand new. No cheating.
When you use an older batt with a newer one or different ones it drives the resistance up which drives the heat up. Married and together, No breaking up and getting back together.

I run dual 18650 mods with married Molicel p26a.
Zeus X dual 3mm ni80 tri-core claptons read about .18 ohms. At 69W it's about 3.5v. it's fine.

I've been using ZX tanks almost exclusively for about 2 years and this lineup from June is typical.

Here's Mooch's Blog. It's the battery Bible as far as vaping's concerned.

This is Steam Engine - use it and read everything you want to know about until you understand.

Absolutely. Mechanical or regulated, you have to be mindful not to exceed the amp rating of your battery because a mod does not know what battery you are using in order to limit current. So for those Samsung 25R batts, using 2 of them in a mod, you should set the mod no higher than 100W (17.4ish amps per battery) in order to have some headroom. Resistance of coil makes no difference.
