I quit smoking analogs 8 weeks ago, but had slipped a few times. I didn't want to go back to smoking a 1/2 pack a day, so I went looking for an alternative.

I am so new to all of this, just got my 510 today....but I so agree with the posters about taxes and paying for others health care:mad: That in of itself is enough to keep me away from analogs!

The taxes got me interested. I was just fed up. I had switched to Roll Your Owns after the tax hike on packs. Then they went and upped the tax on Roll Your Owns so I went looking for an alternative.

Less taxes and I get my lungs and taste buds back. Works for me.

Dittos on that. F-E-D U-P. Got tired of being a cash cow for the government, so screw 'em.

Bronchitis. Nagging, horrible bronchitis. It started with the "fire safe cigarettes." Up until then, even after 42 years of heavy smoking, my lung capacity was still above average. Within a year all I did was cough and wheeze, and I could hardly walk across the room without stopping to catch my breath. I HAD TO QUIT SMOKING!

On 2/1/10 I saw a commercial for BecomeAnEx.org and in desperation checked it out. Somebody was talking about e-cigs on the forums and suggested suppliers. I poked around a bit and ordered a kit and juice. Thank God it was a 510 and Johnson Creek juice, because I didn't have a clue what I was doing and hadn't found ECF yet. I got my bewildering array of stuff 2/4 and smoked my last analogs 2/5. Cough and shortness of breath went away within a week. It's all good!

I wonder if the powers that be know/care that FSC's still burn? So what was the point?

To end smoking for a lesser evil. I'd rather not go out like some relatives before me if at all possible...

And I was sick of being the social pariah as well as funding the crooked government. Sad thing is that the majority of smokers (not me in particular, but statistically speaking) are in the bottom lower class. This is who the government preys upon, the weak and the poor.

Think about it:

Tax breaks for new gas saving car owners - what poor person owns a new car?
Tax hikes on gas - how many poor people own old gas guzzlers?
Sin tax on alcohol and cigs - how many poor people fit into users of these two items?

You ask me, the governments efforts are to make the poor poorer (or maybe to snuff them out completely using their own addictions?)

Health all the way for me, over two decades of smoking were taking their toll on me, I am now more than half a year into e-cigs and a non-smoker...I look better, feel better and smell better.

They've lost the novelty value now as well, so I am not spending money on tons of different flavours and messing around with different e-cig models - I have a core of two or three flavours that I am consistantly happy with, so I am now savng money as well. :toast:

Most people reason is health.but i think e cig most fun is you can try so many flavor.you can finally find your favor taste.

Do you smoke cigarettes, Sam_Kun?
Do you vape electronic cigarettes?
I do not want children to be using electronic cigarettes because of the flavor. It's a great device for cigarette smokers to do less harm to themselves and the people around them.
Yes, it is very much about health.

It goes even farther than that how bout those rebates on the tax payers dime for those who bought new cars dont think to many poor people will be buying new cars.

Here what I think, I really dont think many kids will go through the hassle of ecigs. I really think ecigs will only be used by smokers who cant quit. Think about it charging batts

For me it was being tired of the stink. My job has physical requirements so I always had to make sure I was fresh out of the shower before work, and didn't smoke again until after work. Smoking began to feel like a "dirty little secret" and I don't like having to hide things. I've also been an athlete for my entire life and I started to feel the decline in wind, truly shameful for me knowing *I* was responsible for doing this shameful thing to *myself*.

Vaping since January has changed my life in a very positive way. I still have the occasional regular cig, but nothing like before, and I can feel the difference BIG-TIME.

When I woke up the morning of 1/15/2010, I had no intentions of quitting with the cigarettes. That is the day my first PV was delivered. I didn't buy it to quit smoking ... I bought it because I like gadgets, and I viewed it as such. Until I got the battery charged and took my first couple hits off of it. With that, my decision was made for me. I've inhaled cigarette smoke several times since then. Gladly, it tasted horrid to me. So, in a nutshell, the switch was kinda an accident ... but, I'm so GLAD of it. For health reasons.

I smoked 1 to 2 packs of MORE Reds for at least 35 years, ending 1/15/2010.
