This seems to be a rare occurrence, but certainly not unheard of around here.

So if you switched over to vaping completely, and then for whatever reason went back to smoking again...
What happened? Can you explain the circumstances? The reasons?

Once I get a good number of responses, I will make a poll to dig deeper into this question.
So consider this preliminary research for a soon to be designed unofficial study.

Its only been a few days for me of vaping, as of right now I still smoke but I'm down to 2-3 analogs a day.
I still need my morning smoke first thing, with that said I think its a whole change that is my problem but once I get it
figured out I will be done with the analogs forever.

Vaping is the only thing that seems to help me, I have went 18 years of smoking without missing a day,
I have never went a full day only smoking 3 analogs so this has been doing the job pretty damn good....:)

As I stated in the other thread ... I can't honestly remember.
The only thing I can possibly point to is the lack of juice and equipment I had on hand at the time. It's got me thinking ...

All these discussion we have about spending tons of money on pvs and mods, or constantly experimenting with new things. Maybe that actually HELPS keep you off analogs. You get a new toy and of course, you HAVE to play with it. Can't help but think this helps you move forward with vaping rather than starting to smoke again because you get tired of your old vaping setup and decide to smoke that "one" cig.

It happened once, long time ago. I was visting friends in their hometown, which was quite small. My e-juice had run out and I had to go back to analogs. It was only for 4 days and I swithced back rightaway when I came back home, but I sill think it was a very close call for me. But this was my last slip, I haven't had an analog since :)

I think the biggest thing for me was not thinking about it. Every time I tried to quit smoking before, I was always thinking about having a smoke. E-cigs kill that thought for me. So while I may have me a big fat stogy or a smoke every once in a while, it's no longer what it used to be. The cigar or cigarette every once in a while is actually the novelty now. The e-cig is my main squeeze now.

It happened in early 2010. I evolved from 901s to KR808D and was buying directly from China and the US. Suddenly that year everyone started getting sick in my family so all money was needed to pay medical bills. I no longer had 200 bucks I spent every month to buy supplies so I went back to smoking. I missed vaping so bad that when I ran into an Argentine supplier I started looking into going back. My needs have changed, now vaping isn't as satisfying as before, but I'm determined to make it work!

Good question DC2 :)

I've never had a relapse to smoking so I can't answer your question but I had to comment on Tc1's statement because I've given this a lot of thought recently now that I've lost my burning desire to try different things. I truly believe the hobby mentality played a huge role in my success with vaping and staying away from any relapses. My mind was too busy researching and playing with new toys to give smoking any thought. :) I may not have wanted to go back to smoking in that first year and said I wouldn't but in all honestly looking back I'm not all that certain it couldn't have happened fairly easily. Now past two years of vaping I have no hesitation saying that returning to smoking just isn't an option for me anymore and at the same time that I have total confidence in that statement I also no longer have the desire to constantly try new vaping toys. :) (that doesn't mean its not still fun to try something new once in a while, just no longer a huge deal to me :D )

Good questions DC2.
I quit for over a year, minus 3 puffs here and there when frustration with bad atty or whatever would drive me to light up, but I could never choke down more than 3 puffs ever.
But, when death comes a knockin, I not only choke down the 3 puffs, I choke down cartons.
Stress & depression are my main enemies.
I've been able to go one full solid year without smoking. and without anyone close to me dying.
Hopefully there's another full solid year ahead of me sometime.

My biggest fear when I dropped analogs was my EC would quit. I now own several, with extra batteries and lots of supplies. Interesting the fear of being without drives an almost panic feeling. I do not want to go back to analogs but don't think I am ready to go without any nic delivery.

Agreed.
I have a pack of smokes still chilling around my house, a couple smokes in my car also.
It gives me a bad feeling being out totally if my PV craps the bed on me.
I only have one PV right now (the telescope) but have a extra battery for it, this PV has been great so far, has
not missed a beat, its basically a no nonsense PV and I like that, put a battery in and push a bottom shaft up to the battery.
I like that its really a simple design and has know settings like 5 on 5 off or digital stuff to deal with, just runs tough for a
good day or two with a 18650 AW battery and IMO that's a killer battery to go with, I'm also gonna pick up some 18350's to
make it a lighter-smaller unit.

Well I was off smokes for 3 months completely then one ego died from me accidentally throwing it on concrete the my other ego.just died 1 day later so instead of grabbing some disposables I grabbed a pack and didn't gape for a month or so. Then I got a LT and still did both. Only about 1/2 a pack vs 1 pack per day. After a week I ordered the provari but I made a promise to myself that if I ordered it I wouldn't buy anymore smokes. It worked had my provari for 3 days no smokes, hell I can't afford them

I vaped without smoking for a solid 4 months maybe, then went back to smoking a pack a day for about 3 1/2 months before coming back to vaping. Long story short, I was using 78mm volts, mostly prefilled cartos and a few juices and wasn't prepared when a family member went into hospice and passed. High stress + not enough charged batteries and or time to fill cartos = back to flick the bic and suck it down.

When I came back to vaping, I stocked up. I have 4 78mm autos, 4 Volt X2 650mah batteries, cartos, clearos, God only knows how much juice, and a Zenesis mini with 8 18350s and a charger that can handle 6 of those at a time. If I put all my gear in a bag with a bottle of juice and a syringe, I could get through about 4 days of moderate vaping without needing to charge.
