I just got back from the local flea market, where while I was standing at one of the vape booths there I became aware of a tall older man watching me with my vape from the next booth over. Just as I was exhaling he strode quickly up on me, went into a fake coughing fit and angrily said "Don't blow that **** in MY face!"

Wow... just... wow...

I've run into a lot of that attitude over the last couple months just around town here, and in places where vaping is allowed too. It would seem that the anti-smoking zealots have a whole new group to hate and harass now, and they are coming after us with great zeal. There's been just too much of it to write about in one post here.

I read an online news story about how America is in a crisis of anger. Yeah, no kidding! I see it all the time, and some will do anything just for something to get all over the next person about. If they have to make up a reason they will.

It's getting so I'm afraid to vape in public anymore...

First we had smoke nazis. Now we have vape nazis....

I'm sorry you had to be subjected to this. That guy typifies a kind I've seen before: they will intentionally sit or stand as close to smokers as they can, and then start their rant (when simply walking away would solve their problem...) I've thought of lots of really great snarky comebacks for folks like him, but usually common sense (and fear of getting arrested) prevails and I just give them my "I've killed for less" stare...

Vape on, and vape proud, Vasovlik, and don't let the b4st4rds get you down!

when using my provari with a glass tank on it in public I have had multiple people ask me if i was,"smoking #### in that thing!"
I don't know what these people are talking about. I don't use any illegal substances but even I can smell them 100 yards away.
Do these people see vapor and see something that isn't a cigarette and just assume I must be doing something wrong?

Its seems more and more common that I notice people speaking up/getting offended by things they have no knowledge of, not just vaping. With something like vaping though these people do nothing but hurt our image with the general public. I think in situations like this it is best to try and be patient and friendly about it. I had a pretty similar situation in San Fransisco a few years back at AT&T park. A lady turned me in for smoking to security when I was using my vape. Security came and talked to me about it, I was very friendly and explained exactly what it was. He apologized and walked back over to the lady. Not sure what he said to her but they both walked away. In the end I would like to think that approaching it in this way helps people's perception of vapers.

He probably thought it was something else, unless you were using a cigalike.

Nothing like a cigalike, it was my mech and RBA, and this was at the vape booth he was hanging around. I'm quite sure he was there just looking for someone to get on. If it hadn't been me it would have been another person there. After his outburst at me he walked away fast, I think to avoid any response on my part after he'd scored his point.

I'm betting he came back to the vape booth after that and repeated his performance with others.

Oh yes!!! I saw that a lot when I smoked! What's so disturbing is that now I'm seeing them do the same thing about my vaping! All I can think is that there are just people who desperately need someone to hate and attack for something. What spiritual darkness they must be engulfed by!

Vamo with Protank - large outside venue downtown - had a police officer approach me laughing, some people insisted that he arrest me because I was using a "mini m*th lab" in public, Let him try it, got him set up with a new ego/mini vivi nova set up with 10ml 18mg ry4 I carry around to give smokers that are serious about switching to vaping, walked over to the upset people with him, educated them on what it was I was doing, gave them a list of websites so they can try to get their kids (adult kids) to switch from smoking.

I have a wonderful response ready for those special kind of moose twits ... "I guess if a bit of steam makes you cough like that, then showering is out out the question...that would explain that smell". Smile and wave my hand in front of my nose.

Honestly, if a vape shop is permitted in the market then when your lease is up move over a row.

ETA Politely ask me to stop if I'm bothering you = I will smile, apologize, cease and desist.
Act like an ...... and you will find out why in our house Rule #1 is Never piss off the red head.

That is when you yell..."Stop that man, he stole my wallet\purse" and then make your own hasty retreat. lol

I agree, be patient, and friendly if possible. One thing for sure, I'm NOT about to let them provoke me to a response they can use against me, because that's really what they are after.

They attack you for vaping in hopes you will blow up at them, tell them off, or even more. Then they can really come after you, vilifying you and everyone like you in a zealous campaign of social shaming and self-righteous condemnation involving the police if they can manage that. It's what they constantly hunger for, a person or a group to attack on any halfway good excuse, or purposefully manufactured excuse.

Its seems more and more common that I notice people speaking up/getting offended by things they have no knowledge of business sticking their nose in, in the first place... period, not just vaping.

This country has gotten far and away too PC. Too many people think they're "entitled" to be able to make anyone-and-everyone-else do what they want them to, and to demand that they do so. Sad, really.
