I do believe I've run across that pervert in the comment sections of news articles. Tell him "you're welcome for your exhalation of influenza free exhales rather than germ laden exhales he's providing the world with. Wave his nasty germs away with your hand and threaten to call security on his rude obnoxious and POTENTIALLY dangerous behavior".

I had an old guy do that to me the other day at the farmers market. He was all like "Hey butthead, I didn't survive two wars to have you blowing that smoke in my face!" So I said "Thank you for your service!" That threw off his anger. Then I stole his walker and ditched it in the alley. Score: Old Guy 0, Haunted 1.

Its seems more and more common that I notice people speaking up/getting offended by things they have no knowledge of, not just vaping. With something like vaping though these people do nothing but hurt our image with the general public. I think in situations like this it is best to try and be patient and friendly about it. I had a pretty similar situation in San Fransisco a few years back at AT&T park. A lady turned me in for smoking to security when I was using my vape. Security came and talked to me about it, I was very friendly and explained exactly what it was. He apologized and walked back over to the lady. Not sure what he said to her but they both walked away. In the end I would like to think that approaching it in this way helps people's perception of vapers.

You have to remember that the general public has been trained to demonize tobacco and smoking. For a lot of people, I think it's just habit, or a passive aggressive thing. Educating people to e-cigs and vapor is an uphill battle, and you'll always have the stick-in-the-muds who will insist the second hand vapor is bad for them, even if the Surgeon General knocks on their door and tells them face to face it's harmless.

Or they just need someone to hate for some specious reason. The zealous nazi-like anti-smoking campaign gave them that, but it wasn't enough and the hate fed on itself. Now they are consumed by it.

I just want to move far out in the wilderness away from all of them to a modest little cabin with a good dog and be left alone by them. Dogs are better people than a lot of humans anymore.

I like the way you think. Give me two german shepards and a decent internet connection, and I'm good to go.

I just got back from the local flea market, where while I was standing at one of the vape booths there I became aware of a tall older man watching me with my vape from the next booth over. Just as I was exhaling he strode quickly up on me, went into a fake coughing fit and angrily said "Don't blow that **** in MY face!"

Wow... just... wow...

I've run into a lot of that attitude over the last couple months just around town here, and in places where vaping is allowed too. It would seem that the anti-smoking zealots have a whole new group to hate and harass now, and they are coming after us with great zeal. There's been just too much of it to write about in one post here.

I read an online news story about how America is in a crisis of anger. Yeah, no kidding! I see it all the time, and some will do anything just for something to get all over the next person about. If they have to make up a reason they will.

It's getting so I'm afraid to vape in public anymore...

Interesting reaction from this guy - I wonder if he smokes himself. It's interesting how it's ok to smoke analogs, and definitely be killing yourself and others around you, but it's definitely not ok to vape because there's no stamp of approval from the FDA.....

Yeah... analogs are ok, we know they kill you and others around you, but this vape stuff is definitely something really f#$^ed up because we still don't have a judgement call from the FDA.....

Some people really can't see beyond their own nose.....

Don't get too upset, you can't transplant your own brain into everyone else's head.

Vape on! :vapor: :2cool:

i have a very short fuse when it comes to ignorance. not sure i would be able to contain myself that's why i don't vape anywhere indoors for everyone else's safety and for me not being led away in cuffs, last thing i need.

Agree, sometimes it's best not to even provoke a reaction in order to avoid your own "bad reaction".
I don't vape in the place where I work until everyone leaves just so that I don't have to tell them to "go somewhere unpleasant" because they have no idea what it means to smoke for 20 years a pack to 2 packs per day and then finally give it up for something else that will allow me to live longer and actually be able to smell something.

Yeah, ya know what? I had the guy who came over to do maint on our AC here at the house give me the big rant about that when he saw me vaping, all about how no studies had been done on it, and how it was worse than cigarettes, blah blah blah blah... etc. Seems we are just another handy target of the haters, who all just desperately need someone to hate.

Vaping is relatively new and something different, and the haters are johnny on the spot with their hate. They never miss an opportunity.

The problem is so many people these days have a short fuse to ANY kind of inconvenience or irritant - and think they have the right to act badly if they feel in any way slighted, annoyed or bothered. Dealing with the public these days is like walking on eggshells half the time - and I'm the kind of "Live and let live" kind of person, so I can go out of my way to be as little of a problem as possible (without being taken advantage of, of course.) One of the nice benefits of vaping is not bothering people with cigarette smoke. I was always a polite smoker, I tried to be aware of my surroundings, and didn't smoke if it bothered someone, so I'm the same with vaping. And, i know, that with some people, that won't matter. LOL. What are ya gonna do? :)

Okay, I'm generally not rude, but that crosses a line. My ONLY response to that would be "I'm not paying you for your opinion", and if he persisted, help him LEAVE my property, post haste.

Oh yes, the decent internet connection too, definitely. I so very much miss my giant malamute, the haters forced me to part with him when I moved here into an HOA. They will come after you for your dog just as fast as they will for your vape. Buddy was my only friend in the world until the haters came after us. Now I really have no one.

It's why I want to get far out in the wilderness and away from all of them.

Beautiful dog. I'm sorry that you had to part with him/her. I'm a dog person

Yeah, right. If they so much as SEE vapor they are bothered. It doesn't have to be smoke and it doesn't have to stink. they NEED someone to hate and will immediately F' with you any way they can. You become a target as soon as you exhale vapor, and it makes their day, until they can find someone else to go after.
