I record audiobooks, both commercial (audible.com) and for LibriVox, which is a great group of volunteers who make audiobooks available for free to the public, check em out here: LibriVox

And if your curious about what I sound like, you can check out my contributions here: https://catalog.librivox.org/search...age=&date=&reader=Arnie&bc=&mc=&action=Search

Otherwise I vape and mess with my electronic gadgets. My brother says I am "a man of leisure", but I am not sure what that means.

Mathematics professor at a southern California university. Wish I would see more vapers and fewer smokers on campus. We seem to be few and far between.

My educational background is in mathematics. Both my father and mother were mathematicians. My son is heading to college... with the intent on majoring in mathematics. I told him, "You were genetically doomed to take this path."

Journeyman Union Sheet Metal Worker and proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 3, Omaha, NE.

I install commercial and industrial HVAC systems. (Sometimes redesign the stuff the HVAC and Mechanical engineers mess up on. Just because it looks good on a computer doesn't mean it will work in real life.)

Also, a father of two (6 years, and 20 months), and a husband to the best wife in the world.

I got into my line of work as a tin knocker. I went from sheet metal, to Test and Balance, to Commissioning work.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I was asked when I was a fourth year apprentice if I wanted to switch to testing and balancing because of my ability to work with numbers. I had to tell them no. Although balancing is an important part of the job, it just seemed to boring to me to want to do everyday. I prefer knocking tin any day of the week.

I've been doing a lot of outside metal since December. It's kind of nice not running duct all the time.

"Tin Knocker"- I really haven't heard that from anybody but myself or DH since we left NY 20+ years ago, where the sheet metal guys called themselves tin knockers. For some reason in KY they seem to think it's derogatory or something. To me it's no different than calling electricians "Sparky".:)

I am guessing Owen Illinois? There are only 3 major companies; one French, one Irish and one US owned. The corporation I work for owns one of the other two.

Correct mate. OI Brampton Plant 31. 22 years of service now. 14 years of service prior to that in the plate glass industry, tempering mainly.

I believe there is a plant is Scotland.

No worse than what they called me when I was in TAB, which was "those damn TAB pukes". I wear my former title of "tin knocker" as a badge of honor.

All my children seem to have avoided it. I have a physicist son, a chef son and an daughter studying biology. No one to follow in my footsteps. Oh well. :)
