I've been a member of ECF since April 2013. So i realise that most members here are from the United States Of America. Given that the new regulations, which have been imposed by the FDA, are set to wipe out the vaping industry in the US, does that mean no more new members ?, therefore no more Ecf community in the not so distant future ?. I don't know how many new members join on a daily basis or how many existing members still frequent ECF. If the industry is stifled then ECF will in turn suffer, right ?.

ecf will still be around even if the current deeming sticks IMO. Current vapers will still need information I would assume ECF would be even more valuable then.

I'm being optimistic. There is just no way the current regulation will stick 2 years from now...I hope.

Americans are a big part here so changes are coming.

I think its unlikely any actual laws with have any affect on the forum itself.

Starting this August vape shops will stop the break neck expansion and whats out there will start closing. Vape shops are the core of vaping. At least around here. For every innerwebz vaper using a Provari and Kayfun there are 50-100 people still sucking on a iStick and Atlantis stopping in every week for juice and a coil. As the walls start closing in some may learn to build and make juice but by far most won't. Some will quick out right but most will go back to smoking.

Then over the next two years states will start taxing this stuff back to the stone age. It will be in 50 different ways with all being bad. Without the money savings fewer people will become interested. We are gonna continue being hit with disinformation about health so the one-two punch of vaping being in fact expensive and perceived as unhealthy growth will stall to near zero.

During this period very few people will be joining the innerwebz. Of those already here people will start disappearing. Normal attrition as people move on, go back to smoking, lose interest or simply find what they want.

Those still here will not be able to speak very freely. I don't think our DIY operations are in any danger so we can talk of how we make juice and buy modz and atty's but as soon as a noobs asks where we got the stuff --->crickets chipping<---. Most things will be handled by PM and noobs will be ignored. Online we won't answer questions because you might be from the government and in person we won't because we are one of three thing:

1. Feeding off our stash in which case you can't have any.

2.Know how to buy the stuff but don't wanna get involved with bootlegging for others.

3. Are in fact the actual bootlegger and only willing to sell you finished product at 1000% markup.

So vaping will live for those of us who have prepared but talking about it and helping others is DEAD!!!

I don't see vaping going away at all. My hope is that the FDA deeming fiasco will expose the fact that government is favoring big tobacco for the billions it has been required to pay the states for the first 25 years of the agreement. Ecigs are cutting into BT revenue and the FDA is actually stomping on vaping to protect a product by BT that kills. BT must survive to make profits to pay off the Master Settlement Agreement.

America has always been about free enterprise. Vaping is magnitudes safer than smoking. How else does it make sense that a safer product is being stepped on to preserve the profits of a deadly one?

Again, it all depends on what transpires down the road. We're positioning ourselves to continue, regardless of what the final outcome is.

That's interesting.

I've been listening to recent debates over Britain's departure from the EU. People such as our Prime Minister saying why we should stay. He himself has made no economic plans if we leave though. Our own Prime Minister has made no plans at all for our economy if we leave the EU.

I'm not sure whether existing legislation such as the TPD, as it stands, will still be in force in Britain if we do leave. Along with a multitude of other rules and regulations which have been imposed on us from the EU over the years.

I digress !.

It's good to plan ahead though.

Speaking as someone who participates in forums discussing vegetative substances much higher up the prohibition chain, your statement is completely inaccurate.

Imo, we cant let them win on these counts. It will take mass dissent. I wish everyone would stand up to these oppressive regulations together, then they would fall.

Otherwise you risk being treated like a criminal for having an alternative to cigarettes that the government makes mega taxes off of.... A pack of marlboro still costs 2-$2.50, the rest is added sin tax!

The amount of money our corrupt government makes off cigarette smokers is probably in the billion$.

Well we would talk about the good ole days :)
Yes, we could do that. Sounds depressing. I know you and I are among the "prepped" people. Some just won't do it. those will be the ones scrambling around the forums trying to get their vape back.

I know that is going to be rough, it is almost like warning people of a tsumani coming and some are like it's ok I can swim! LOL

It means, i'll see you in the deepweb. Just like anything thats illegal...
Really we need to tone down the melodrama. Needing to access the deep web is poppycock.
When I first became interested in 'exotic horticulture' I used Google to seek info. Info for the rank beginner to the most sophisticated participant in the activity is ALL right out in the open and instantly available.
Vaping will be no different.

I did buy extra things that if someone gets in a pinch I could sell something last minute for a frantic vaper :)

If you do sell to someone else after August 10, 2016, then you'll have to register with the FDA and have the BATF come knocking on your door at 3:00 AM.
