It's not that they have control, the issue is, why would we want to participate anymore if we have to go underground basically.

Because no matter what the cat is out of the bag and there will be people who still vape and want information. Also, stuff like how to build and repairs.

A very few of us make it into a hobby.

Yea, I gotta say, I hear a lot of people refer to "the hobby" of vaping. For me it isn't a hobby but a way to be able to continue vaping. It's a long story so I'll spare you all the details but, i have very limited funds right now and so I've learned to make juice at about $1.00 per 30ml
and rebuild protank atomizer heads at .05 per.

Not a hobby, just keeping away from tobacco.

Agreed. I actually started vaping as a way to save money.
Wife got me a cigalike kit as a surprise so I figured what the heck and tried it.
Immediately figured out that prefilled cartos would cost me as much a ssmokiing so refilled cartos.
Then figured out that much of the commercial juice was not agreeing with me and started DIY within 6 weeks of starting vaping. I figure I can make a gallon of ejuice for around $50 now.

Vaping has also become a hobby though and I have built up quite an inventory over the past 1.5 years. Mostly from super cheap deals on clearance and such.
I have yet to pay over $30 for a mod.
almost all of them were $20 or less and many of the mechs $10 or less on clearance.
Considering all of that I have still spent less than 1/3 of what I would have spent on smoking and the cigs I was smoking are still under $35/carton here.

IF they can buy nic concentrate.

That is exactly why we are all stocking up and trying to warn people to grab it before August 9th when the regs start. It is so cheap too, the price of a couple "premium" juices. There's going to be a lot of angry upset vapers come this fall. I think there will be a backlash then.

I mean if these vapers who aren't aware of the situation now how do people figure that those vapers will pony up with us and fight.

Apparently they don't know ECF and the advocacy groups exist so how do they come around once the regs kick in?

And the next round of the Deeming regs kicks in at the end of this year and into the first couple of months of next year. I expect the mass exodus of retailers to happen then.
Nicotine will very likely become very problematic on 8-8 though.

Americans are a big part here so changes are coming.

I think its unlikely any actual laws with have any affect on the forum itself.

Starting this August vape shops will stop the break neck expansion and whats out there will start closing. Vape shops are the core of vaping. At least around here. For every innerwebz vaper using a Provari and Kayfun there are 50-100 people still sucking on a iStick and Atlantis stopping in every week for juice and a coil. As the walls start closing in some may learn to build and make juice but by far most won't. Some will quick out right but most will go back to smoking.

Then over the next two years states will start taxing this stuff back to the stone age. It will be in 50 different ways with all being bad. Without the money savings fewer people will become interested. We are gonna continue being hit with disinformation about health so the one-two punch of vaping being in fact expensive and perceived as unhealthy growth will stall to near zero.

During this period very few people will be joining the innerwebz. Of those already here people will start disappearing. Normal attrition as people move on, go back to smoking, lose interest or simply find what they want.

Those still here will not be able to speak very freely. I don't think our DIY operations are in any danger so we can talk of how we make juice and buy modz and atty's but as soon as a noobs asks where we got the stuff --->crickets chipping<---. Most things will be handled by PM and noobs will be ignored. Online we won't answer questions because you might be from the government and in person we won't because we are one of three thing:

1. Feeding off our stash in which case you can't have any.

2.Know how to buy the stuff but don't wanna get involved with bootlegging for others.

3. Are in fact the actual bootlegger and only willing to sell you finished product at 1000% markup.

So vaping will live for those of us who have prepared but talking about it and helping others is DEAD!!!

This is Singapore, right?

Even tho I understand why, it really upsets me that the vape shops keep their customers in the dark. They don't want their customers anywhere near the internet. These customers find ecf, internet vape vendors, it's bye bye to the shops business. Bring up ecf to a vape shop employee, and you get a blank stare. I used to visit a shop a once in awhile, but don't go there any longer. Most of em, not all, deserve to go out of business.

On the other hand vape shops expose many folks to vaping that are not internet savvy.

There certainly does seem to be a huge division between the online vape community and the local shop patrons. Vaping is very big in Central Florida, second only to maybe SoCal. We have vape shops all over the place, and more opening all the time. Even with the recent release of the Deeming Regs, I know of at least two shops that have opened in the last couple weeks. Most of the shops seem to double as 'hang outs', complete with juice bars. The shops are social outlets, as well as supposedly retail establishments. I rarely enter B&M shop. It's just not my thing. But on the rare occasion that I have, the hanger arounders seem to be oblivious to the online vape community; which is surprising, considering how technologically savvy most young people are.

Speech is still free, and neither the FDA nor anyone else can ban it. (the Bill of Rights, remember?) But how ecf gets funded may change a lot, because a lot of sponsor businesses may go out of business. It is in everyone's interest to become a sustaining member and keep this forum alive, especially in the turbulent times to come.

What is the purpose of the 'Deeming'?
To protect BT & Tax streams.
Why would they allow the exchange of knowledge on ECF,, when it would aid the proliferation & popularity of vaping?
My guess is just a guess.
On August 10, the FDA will pull the tarps off. We will than see the weapons pointed at us..

I'm also concerned about all the instructional videos on YouTube that I may not get a chance to watch by then. Is there a chance those could be pulled?

I fully believe that too, and also we have only two months to get nicotine to mix with. It is going to get crazy.

They may be determined to look them up or rant online, email their congressmen, etc.

No offense to young people, but a vast majority took up vaping because they think it's cool. I'd rather them vape then smoke however.
