How do you become a verified member anyway?

Oh there's a ton of hoops to jump through & some back alley activities you really don't want to know about. I'll be washing myself over and over with steel wool for weeks! But if you really want to put yourself through the trauma, go down the rabbit hole. You've been warned. You will not emerge the same.

I remember it was fairly easy but took some time before you noticed you were a verified member above your name. They don't contact you, it just happens when you fulfill a couple items through PayPal I think or eBay...just search in site help and it will explain it to you.

I went the ebay route, since it was the only way that would work for me. I put in my application a day or two ago. They got in touch with me this evening with further instructions & a few hours later I had the fancy new title.

I use paypal every day, even have the paypal debit card. thanks for the link.

No worries. I used to until I had a pretty severe issue with their service. I called them up, verified everything they wanted to know & they still refused to acknowledge who I was or correct their mistake. I suppose telling them precisely where they could shove their service & closing my account didn't help much after I was fed up with that call. It's handy, but I just won't deal with a company like that anymore. They're fine until you have a problem or need to talk to their 'customer service' for anything.

Sorry to hear that. I've been using them steadily for about 7 or 8 years with no problems. I use them at least once a day, sometimes dozens of times a day.

Yah... I've been with Paypal for years too, before Ebay bought them even, and never had a single problem with them. BUT! I've heard horror stories that some people really get screwed by them, so I don't know.

I think if you don't actually have a paypal account, that's when the problem happens when you use them and then need service. I've had the same account for years. They know who I am. Also, some people get scammed by fake emails and then try to get help from paypal. Those fake paypal emails look really legitimate but if you look closely they are usually written in incorrect grammar or if you slide you mouse over the link you can see it's not really a paypal link.

I think the KEY with using Paypal is to NEVER EVER EVER click on a link for Paypal. Anything Paypal would contact you for you will see if you log in by typing www.paypal.com.

I remember a few years ago, I got an Ebay notice that said I had sold something. Er... I didn't sell anything. So I clicked the link and it took me to a log in page. I backed out of the page, typed in Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectibles, Coupons and More Online Shopping | eBay, checked my account, and lo... nothing there about selling anything. If I wasn't paying attention, I would have given a thief all my Ebay info!

The Paypal phishing is the same thing, they say you added an email you never heard of, click this link if you did not. And people click the link and lose their account. If you NEVER click a link from Paypal or Ebay, you can't lose your account. Anything you need to see you can always see by logging in on the https page, after verifying that the .com always comes after the paypal or ebay. I've had people tell me that they've never clicked an email link ever and still lost their account... but I can't see how.

If paypal sends you an email for any reason, your full name is going to be at the top of it. The phony emails just go out by the millions. They don't know your name. They don't even know if you have a paypal account. What they want you to do is click on their link taking you to a phony paypal login and when you attempt to log in, bingo, you just gave them your password. If the email says "Dear Paypal Customer" or something instead of your full name, you know you're being scammed.

I'm fully aware of all the in/outs with paypal & it had nothing to do with any of the above (besides Glass's comment on really getting screwed by them). But no phishing victim, no links, it had to do with a whole other matter entirely... and the fact that the customer service rep, and her supervisor were both complete *ahem* about the ordeal, acting very unprofessionally. So I chose to close the account (and oddly enough, the supervisor changed his tune on a dime, hmmm) & haven't looked back. It's only caused 1 minor inconvenience since. Oh well, done & over with. Anyhow, enough about that.

What Kind of Place is This?!?!

The first taste is free...

And the last. For the last few days I've only been smoking that get out of bed cig... and I just put my last one out. When I got down to 2 per day I decided ready or not that when the pack was gone, that was it, no more. And lucky enough it worked out until this morning, the day of It's arrival. 7 hours, 18 minutes til I go to the post office. Not that I'm counting. Until then I'm going to have to get me one of those fancy, counter, calculator, spend your money on a milestone sig graphics. And hopefully I get the other email today that says 'Your order has shipped from VaporForce'.
