What made you decide to switch to an e cig?

Sereral reasons...

1 ) Lost and aunt and uncle to lung cancer, almost lost a second uncle as well, so hit pretty well close to home
2 ) Expense and stench
3 ) All the dang taxes imposed on tobaccos
4 ) A little more convenience, if I was going to stay addicted to nic, tried all the pharma and hypnotism crap, and have to get up every time to have to go outside for a cig when I had a craving almost every 45 minutes to an hour

My doctor, after several heart attacks, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, A Fib, and much much much more, and thats only after 2 packs a day for 21-22 years of smoking, ever see the commercial on TV where the guy lost his leg due to smoking???? Im right there, i wont let them take it, but one day there will be no choice, and the other leg isn't too far behind, the damage is done and theres nothing that can fix it all... Unless i could get a hold on a time Machine...

I was tired of waking up and coughing for 20 min. I was tired of going to hotels and having to go outside at 3am in whatever weather to smoke. I was tired of spending 250$ a month on smokes and tasting like an ashtray for my effort. So vaping may be like methadone for the time being but it has turned out to be a pretty nice crutch no matter how much money I dump into new toys and tastes.

I had a coworker get her girlfriend to switch to vaping and asked her about her stuff after watching a Blu commercial and really thinking about how much I spent on smoking vs how much I hate how smoking smells and tastes. Yes I still need my nic fix but at least now it tastes a thousand times better to me, I don't repel people with my smoke smell, and I actually do manage to spend quite a bit less money each month.

I'm just a lucky exception - I wasn't trying to quit cigarettes.

Bought a disposable to get me through a forced couple days in a no-smoking facility.
Figured, "that's not too bad, let me try something that might taste better," and ordered a 510 starter kit (wanted something ciglike and super-portable - I still use em while driving about). Within a week, I found that I wanted to vape rather than smoke - cigs just tasted nasty in comparison, so I stopped smoking. Just like that, after 30 years.

I spend hours every weekend in a RIDICULOUSLY smoky place - and have found no "urge" to burn tobacco.

Rather, I am on a quest to find a perfect every-day vape, and may be doomed to continually fiddle with new gizmos.
I haven't tried to cut back nicotine - maybe one day, but then again, maybe not. See, I just switched to vaping because I PREFERRED IT, not as a way to kick a cig habit!

Somebody shared their e cig with me and explained a bunch of stuff. I'd been chewing Nicorette for 10 years. His claim was DIY and save money plus I liked it and was very ready for something different. I took to it even though I had to learn things that normally don't interest me one bit. I do like to learn things though but I'm still just an average vaper with too many devices and all the accoutrements of the scene. I will save money finally after I catch up in 4 years which allows me $40 a month for atty or whatever is needed to top of my plentiful stash of stuff. And I will slow down. I already have actually. Why I guesstimate $40 a month. It's becoming routine, desirable but not callin to me to try everything anymore because I really have tried a lot. A whole lot! I'm in to variety
