Wanting something safer. I didn't want to give up smoking, I just didn't want cancer. I switched from Newport 100s to the supposedly safer American Spirits. Everything was dandy until I was poking around Youtube and saw that a video game reviewer that I enjoy did a vid on e-cigs. I ordered one and here I am, tobacco free for a month.

Now I sit with my passthrough plugged into my 360 while I play videogames, can't get much nerdier than that :p

I was a 15 year smoker who never thought about quitting or ever tried. I'd occasionally heard about E-Cigs off and on for a year or more but never thought of it as anything more than the latest fad that would go as quick as it came. About 6 weeks ago a co-worker came in with a Blu telling everyone how great it was and trying to get us to buy one. This was on a Friday, I came home and basically spent the whole weekend doing noting but researching the subject. Within a week I had a Riva Kit in my mail box and smoked my last analog 3 days after that, haven't looked back since. Now I wish I'd researched it much earlier. I enjoy it more, can already tell a difference in my breathing, sense of smell, taste and my house, car or clothes no longer reek or getting discolored from smoke.

Saw a TV ad by smoking everywhere while on vacation and thought it was a neat invention, wondered if it worked. Id been thinking baout trying to cut down on smoking so the timing was right. Had NO intention of quitting - just wanted to smoke LESS
I came back home, did my research (I'm a net junkie so no way I was buying anything without researching it first), found this place, asked some questions, got a basic 510 from cignot - rest is history.

I got tired of the wife _ithching about my smoking. A friend told me she had quit using e-cigs so I promptly got ripped off at the local mall. Other factors were the cost, convenience and health reasons. The cost savings turned out to be a joke as I now have like 50 bottles of juice and 6 complete e-cig's as well as a 2 year supply of spare parts. But I can vape in the house and I can breathe again.

Four things made me try vaping:

1. I'm a techie. I love amazing inventions, and the PV is definitely an amazing invention. Had to have it.
2. Rush Limbaugh (another rebel...I, too, love doing things just to piss off the self-righteous)
3. The cost of smokes...and not wanting to give the gov't ONE MORE DIME of my hard-earned money than necessary.
4. Health - I had my second Upper Respiratory Infection within five months

When I first heard about a "cigarette" that was reportedly much better for you than smoking but would be very similar to smoking in the way it was used, I was, like, "WTF, really? Obviously, too good to be true." I didn't do too much more research on it. Then, after finding a vendor at the mall, I did more research and (while I would not recommend buying one from a mall kiosk) I discovered they were absolutely NOT too good to be true. There's just no way I couldn't try it. I just wish I got one a lot sooner and found this website before making my first purchase. :)

I'd never really heard of them until a coworker came in with one. It's all he could talk about! I was really needing a cig anyway so he let me try his. OMG it really hit the spot! I couldn't beleive it. lol I kept after him and his wife for about a week or two. Asking them if they haven't smoked cigs yet. Nope they were in love. I kept going online and found this site, read and read and read some more. I decided to give it a try. I didn't think it would work for me. I wanted to quit smoking, but have tried EVERYTHING to quit. I got my kit, 501, in the mail Friday (9/10) evening. Had my last cig 6:30 am Saturday (9/11)!!!! I'm in love! I was a 30 yr, 1 - 2 pack a day smoker. I'm sooooo happy! :):)

For me it was a matter of money and health but the health thing was pretty severe.....I actually have a tube in my throat that i have to breathe out of while im sleeping (a trach) due to EXTREMELY severe sleep apnea (i would stop breathing 127 times an hour in my sleep, putting an insane ammount of stress on my heart). Only way i'll ever get to sleep normal again is if i lose weight which is difficult to do while smoking....Plus since smoking irritates the throat as bad as it does (especially at a pack and a half a day) smoking makes it even worse!

The only way to get this tube outta my throat is to lose weight....altho i gotta say the most excerise i used to get was walking to the store every day for ciggs lol. But now i've quit smoking (2 weeks now....can't wait to tell my doctor!!!)and im slowly working on getting myself to the point where i can excercise and eat better (that's gonna be an uphill battle as it is due to money issues and location....I live in a pretty bad ghetto can't just go running or jogging thru the neighborhood any time of the night). it also didn't help that my mother secretly taught my 3 year old to yell at me and wifey to quit smoking when we would light a cigg....

I had heard about e-cigs but never saw much of an in depth article on them. I've been smoking 30 years and really just resigned myself to the habit after some unsuccessful quit attempts, besides just really enjoying smoking. Then about a month ago I read the WSJ article and thought it might be a great way to cut back at least. After a couple days of Google frenzy, I ordered an eGo and accomplished that.

I was watching a poker show (I like poker), and a commercial with some dude with glasses came on. He had a e-cig with a blue led tip that lit up and it resembled a cigarette. He mentioned it's just water vapor (still up for debate), and they showed people using them. He mentioned no smell, blah blah blah, don't remember it all. I already was aware of e-cigs, as I was shocked seeing a mall vendor blow out a cloud one time and thought it was a real cigarette at first.

But I blew em off, thinking no way they were as good as analogs. But my wife recently expressed the smell of my cigarettes seemed to have gotten stronger since I switched to stuffing my own. So, a week later I see the commercial and think to myself I think I want to give it a try. Well, being me, I always know with any product, it can be had much cheaper on the internet.

I did a search for e-cig and I came across a TON of information. I watched youtube videos, I watched reviews, I came to this site. I ended up getting an Ego (way cheaper and better than the crap on TV), and I had my last analog on August 18th. Ahhhhhhhhh, SUCCESS!

Wanted to live long enough to see my daughter graduate college, which required that I be able to breath. Something I wasn't doing too well. Best friend mentioned that her boyfriend had bought her an e-cig. It was a cheap one and she wasn't doing well with it, but it made me do some research. Found this forum right after I bought a Smoke 51 disposable and rechargable. Not a great set up, I still smoked analogs with it, but a week later I had a sidesho and at least the Smoke 51 got me started before I had a chance to change my mind. Once I had the sidesho, I quit in 6 days.

I quit a long long time ago, but could not stop thinking about it. The knowledge that I'd restart sometime was always looming over me, especially when I was under any stress at all, which is often when you have bipolar disorder. My husband went away for a couple weeks so rather than buying analogs, I tried an inhaler. My mood went way up, so I decided to try vaping, and it's all been good since. I always figured that when I could access nicotine without having to worry about health and the smell issue that I'd be right on it. I love not having to worry that I'll start again.

I ordered 2 (1 for Hubby) sets from Smoking Everywhere several yrs ago; bought them mostly for convenience especially for cruising. Neither of us could figure out how to use them correctly & hated the prefilled flavor (this wonderful forum either hadn't been formed yet or I didn't know to look for one). So we both kept smoking. I was on cruisecritic (the largest cruising forum) one day recently when there appeared a thread concerning e-cigs...one of the members here & there posted about ECF & I & many of those smoking members came over here for e-cig education.

I spent days researching & finally bought 2 KR8 starter kits. I'm still working on finding my "sweet spot" altho several liquid flavors & nic levels are getting me off of those nasty analogs pretty fast; down to about 2/day & I can see the end of the tunnel. Hubby is having a little more trouble quitting but he is catching on...he was driving to Dallas (about 5 hrs from here) yesterday for a business meeting & actually asked me to charge up his batts & fill some carts for the drive; he said he vaped about 75% of the drive so he, hopefully, is making some progress.

Was out in smoking area carrying on chit-chat. After we finished and were walking in we kept talking. At the elevators one of the people i was talking too puffed on her cig inside the building. I tried to politely carry on the conversation while steering her to the outside door to continue the chat. Kept pushing her out, and finally she said OH you think i'm smoking.. How sweet of you to care, but....

2 hrs later I was at the mall buying a smoking everywhere (yech) after finishing the last ciggerette in my pack of marl reds.

a lot of money/time learning later still analog free.

I started at smoking at 13 years old. I smoked until 2 weeks ago at the ripe old age of 44. So for 31 years I paid big tobacco brother a small fortune to destroy my body and try to kill me slowly. For the first year or so, I was an idiot kid trying to look cool and grown up. For the next 30 years I was an addict who could not kick the habit with gum, patches, chantix, hypnotism or anything else. My Tornado (510 EGO) arrived in the mail 2 weeks ago. I have not smoked an analog cigarette since I first opened the package and started using it. I am not craving regular cigarettes in any way. E-cigarettes are a life saving device. They are a means to a better quality of life.

I started using e-cigarettes because I was open minded enough and intelligent enough to know a good idea when I saw it on youtube.

I've been smoking a PAD for over twenty years, and really have never tried to quit. I stopped while I was pregnant and breast feeding, but started again as soon as that was over with. The problem for me is that, in addition to a nicotine / ritual addiction, I really enjoy smoking.

I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder this past spring, and knew that I needed to quit, just to spare myself from some of the trouble that the disorder causes with the lungs. One night shortly after diagnosis, I saw an American Blue Tip commercial (the guy with the glasses mentioned earlier) and it caught my attention.

I did some research and first ended up with a Blu, which didn't impress me in the slightest. I then found ECF and read for hours. I promptly returned the Blu and bought an M601/602 and an eGo. It took me a couple of weeks before I kicked the analogs to the curb, but I finally managed to do it. I've been tobacco free since 8/19 and am so happy! I'm now a juice fiend, but I figure that will slow down once I find my all-day, go-to vape.

Eventually, I hope to convert my husband...although that is going to take some serious work. :)

I love smoking, it's one of the most relaxing ways to do anything for me. However, I hated the way analogs made me feel. I saw the Smoking Everywhere kiosk in the mall, but I just knew that wasn't a good deal. So I went out and bought one and never looked back since. I loved this alternative because it gave me the nicotine I love and crave (and not just because of addiction), as well as being healthy.
