I saw the Blu cig commercial over several months. Each time I told myself that I needed to check those out. I finally did (very little) research and bought a one of the Kr8 starter kits from another vendor. I had pretty much given up on the idea of quitting and figured that either what I was hearing from the reviews was for real or it was a bunch of bull. All I knew for sure was that my health was not getting any better from smoking. And, if I could even just cut my habit by a small amount, I'd be doing better.

I still am amazed by them. I haven't completely given up the cancer sticks, but I'm getting closer everyday. My eGo is suppose to arrive in the mail this afternoon. It will be the fourth different kit I've ordered since July. Each time I upgrade, I find myself cutting back more. Maybe this one will be it :)

I love smoking, it's one of the most relaxing ways to do anything for me. However, I hated the way analogs made me feel. I saw the Smoking Everywhere kiosk in the mall, but I just knew that wasn't a good deal. So I went out and bought one and never looked back since. I loved this alternative because it gave me the nicotine I love and crave (and not just because of addiction), as well as being healthy.

Hear, hear. I am right with you there. I really, really... really like smoking. =) And now I like vaping! I don't think I could smoke if I tried now!

I love smoking. But it's getting harder and harder to enjoy it in today's society. Can't smoke here, can't smoke there.. smoke free buildings.. and omg.. no smoke areas in a freakin airport anymore. Good gawd after a 5 hour flight all I wanted to do was light up, but usually there wasn't enough time because of a connecting flight. Plus it was affecting my health. I would have never known about these ecigs if a classmate of mine hadn't of brought one to class one day.

I hope your eGo helps you make the final transition!

Several months ago I made the decision to finally do something about my health. I had been smoking more and gaining weight and had reached a point where even going to the grocery store was painful or I'd run out of breath. It wasn't the type of life I wanted to live. So I started seeing a doctor about my weight and was able to drop about 50 lbs in 6 months. This gave me the courage to try and tackle some of the other problem areas in my life, namely smoking.

I had seen e-cigs off and on and kept saying I wanted to try them, but with my new found determination and courage I took the jump and bought one of the 7-11 models to try out. I love it and have now decided to quit analogs completely and use vaping to get me there!

PS - I also enjoyed lighting up everytime I saw a truth ad or heard an anti-smoking commercial on the radio.

I had smoked analogs for 34 years and had tried to quit many times, I'd tried cold turkey, patches, gum, but I would keep going back when the stress got to be to much. I had followed e-cigs on line for about a year and then finally took the plunge about 8 months ago. It was hard for me to justify the cost of my first starter kit, but even harder to justify what I was spending to kill myself. I liked the KR808 right from the start, but it took about a week of using both analogs and e-cigs before I was able to give up analogs all together and I haven’t had one since then.

The people on this form have been a great deal of help and encouragement. Thanks to all. My only drawback to the whole thing is I have put on 20 pounds because everything now smells and taste sooooo much better. But now that I can breathe better I may have to give up my excuse to start an exercise program ;D

I was a 2 PAD smoker who became interested in ecigs after reading success stories. So, I delved into researching but became discouraged with too much information. Long story short, my son spotted an ecig kiosk in a nearby mall and suggested we go there together to have a look. I ended up buying an overpriced kit that worked well enough to cut my smoking down by 70% from the first day. That was June 11th. Since then, I've bought the Joye 510 and Ego and with those two devices have managed to quit analogs altogether since July 23rd.

Funny, it was a news story talking about some of the issues with e-cigs (by the FDA) on fox news. I started researching e-cigs and ran into this site and a few others. I had been a 1.5 PAD and trying to quit for a while, even tried the plastic inhalers (didn't work, no flavor, no throat hit). Decided to give this a try last week. Got my EGO yesterday, and so far, no analogues.

Me? Smoked over a pack a day for over 30 years. Spent several years trying to quit. I spent the better part of a year wearing a patch (damn things are expensive). Didn't stop me from smoking though. Smoking is so much more than just maintaining nicotine levels - at least for me. There's a whole ritual surrounding it.
Then one day in Jan of '09, I saw a news story (a Canadian channel) on e-cigs. Jumped on the internet, found this site, and I was hooked. Even before receiving my first 901. Been through M401's, and 501's since then. My current favorite is 808D-1 style. Love 'em. Ordered a Riva 901 recently from Eastmall. Looking forward to that as well.

Kept telling mysself I needed to quit but really had no desire to, Saw E-Cigs online somewhere, started researching, ended up here.
Decided I would save up and get a 510 kit, then a refund check from a cancelled Verizon account showed up unexpectedly. Dropped it in the bank and immediately made an order.
Stopped smoking the day the kit arrived, haven't looked back. Not saying it was an easy ride the first month, but glad I stuck with it.

I got tired of killing myself slowly with regular cigarettes. The FDA said these things are poison so i figured it would be quicker. Now after a month and a half i can smell again breathe again taste again. I feel better then i have in 15 years. Which kinda pisses me off , i think the FDA was lying to me. :(

By trade, I'm a respiratory therapist. I've seen everything a cig could do to you and , of course, my coworkers preaching. But yet, I just couldn't quit. I tried cold turkey, gum, patches, nasal inhalers, all except chantix (don't need more problems)to no avail. Then the worst almost happened, my hubby needed a cardiac catherization. He also is (was) a heavy smoker. He got through the cath. with no additional need for cardiac intervention. It was time for major life changes. In my search I came upon this forum, a Godsend indeed. Thanks to many people here and youtube, I was guided in the right direction. We both are now down to 2/3 cigs a day, instead of 3 cartons or more per week. We've been vaping for about 4 weeks now. HOORAY!
