I plan on asking for a REO woodvil for my birthday in a couple of months. I've noticed that most of them aren't in stock when I look - I take it they're available as he makes them. Is there a way to find out what's coming up, or do I just have to keep checking the website?

He makes them in batches. Last batch was announced in Oct, he made about 300 and they went on sale late Feb. He sold out in about an hour, with most being gone in 15 minutes.
He held a few back for people who missed the sale and will be posting them next week. If you want one jump on that or hope you can find a used one for sale, they don't last more than a few minutes after being posted either. He will be building some mechanical wood mods later this year, no timing announced on those.

Thanks for the info! A mechanical is what I want. What's the best way to keep tabs on when a new batch might be on the way?
Great thread. I too have an MVP2 and am interested in getting a REO soon. I already came to the conclusion that I'm getting one, I just need to wait a few months and I can have it. This thread provided some answers to questions I also had and things I was wondering about.

im interested in reos. i have been since i can remember. now im even more interested in one since i had the chance to play with a friend of mine's reo. one thing that struck me as problematic however is the door. every time i fired it, the door would slide.
i realized that the device is a right-handed device. my 'problem' is that im left-handed. are there any left-handed reos?

my right hand no longer works well, so i've only ever used my Reos with my left hand. not a problem. i imagine a lot of righties use their right hand for other stuff and vape with the left.
thanks. so i take it the door doesnt slide off of yours when you fire with your left. for me it does.
are there any reos with the door on the other side? or maybe a reo with a different type of closure rather than magnets?
None of the three metals I have has any problem with the door sliding. When you get yours if it does slide you can put a slight bend in the door and case closed.

maybe mine wont slide. maybe my buddy's was an exception to the rule, rather than typical. it was a used unit, so maybe the previous owner dropped it or did something to make the door not perform how it was intended.

Though I am right handed, I vape my Reos ambidextrously.
I also hold and vape them "detonator style" as in my thumb is on the button.
When I go to squonk it left handed, I just flip it like I'm holding/answering an iphone and let my opposable thumb do it's thing. Easy.
I trying to figure out how you'd make the door slide by vaping it... hmmm...
Well, regardless, there's an easy fix if that's happening. Slide the door down about two inches, and apply some pressure down to the left hand bottom corner near the squonk window to bend the door ever so slightly. No more sliding.
Kemo, I am right handed but also vape mine left handed mostly. I have had the door slide upwards while taking a vape off of it and it was due to the way it hit the bottom of my hand. I have recently figured out how to make it stop. I simply vape it with my pinkie folded under the device and therefore I'm not applying any pressure on the door. It is what has worked for a few days now and is getting to be the norm. Every now and then I hold it wrong and the door will move, but not as often. Of course, the idea of bending the corner of the door is also a very simple fix also....
I own a variety of devices, provaris and Reos included. I wouldn't want to be without either of them. I do have to give the Reo/rm2 the edge for simplicity and flavor. Sometimes I just don't feel like squonking though..the provari/kayfun comes in handy for those times

I have an MVP2 and loved it. Got my REO last week and the MVP2 sets in my box as a backup begging to be used. Just mothballed my KF3.1. It was a sad affair but for now, I am having a love affair with my REO. Before I bought mine, I posted my shopping list on here. 70 posts later, I got a totally different one because the reonauts helped me dial in what I was looking for. I don't regret it one bit. Before you buy, if you want some more confidence, do what I did. No one pressured me, just offered up suggestions. Good luck saving! Can't wait to see your pic of a shiny new REO (If that is the route you choose)
