Mad Vapes tanks have just been delivered. Phew they do come with drip tips, was getting concerned about that.

What ever possessed me into thinking that Key Lime Freeze would be an interesting flavour ! It is making me miss the tobacco juice I was whining about yesterday.

Update on leaking tank. I think I know what the issue is for all us noobs and Ego tanks.

We are cigarette smokers not vapors. When we light a cig we need a nic fix so really go at it. I was reading another thread and this was mentioned.

So the last tank re-fill I went with a restricted steady draw rather than sucking it to an inch of it's life. Guess what. No leaks so far.

Another tip is if you are buying from a store, you know emergency, juice run make certain you shake that bottle before vaping as you have no idea how long it has been sitting there. Unless of course it is a high turn over place then you will be good to go.

Now to give these cardo and tanks a puff or 50.

I never had my eGo-T leak... not once.

But I always drew like you describe, long, slow, steady... This IS vaping, not smoking ;)

Interesting little fact... the CE2 Clearomizers... you don't even really draw on them, I mean you just barely pull... it's almost like the vapor is being pushed into your mouth... If you do draw you either flood them or they can't wick fast enough. Crazy huge plumes of vapor when you get it right though :D

One more piece of advice... and this is critical

I have noticed that in my years of smoking analogs my brain got wired to them(duh! but follow along)...
I will be driving, or like you mentioned having my morning coffee. The routine things that used to mean, "Time to smoke" and that's when my brain fires up and says "Hey I need a Cigarette", to the point that I have reached for a pack that isn't there anymore, before I even realize it...

BUT my brain is wrong, it just knows that a cigarette is what USED happens... It has years of conditioning telling it that these cues mean "smoke em if you got em".

When I get this urge, I pick up my PV and vape... and my brain shuts the hell up.

So the advice....

DO NOT confuse a need for nicotine and routine with a need to smoke. ;)
Make a new routine.

---After posting I noticed---

WOW, I've gone over 1 month analog free... that's just insane!!!

Even more insane is that a month came and went without me noticing ;)

and even with all my fidlding and crap, new carts, more batteries, new juice... according to my sig, I've now more than broke even... VAPING is saving my life!... and my money!

YAY VAPING!!!

Well done you.

So far I have spent about $120 but not bought a pack or more likely a carton of cigs today and as I have 6 in the pack in my pocket and have no intention to.

Little steps.

So yesterday I wrote that I went to a local store and bought some e-juice. I hated it. 2 bottles for $25.

Compared to Key Lime Freeze I am liking them but who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Heading off to work in a few and got a busy day. Apologies for turning this thread into more of a blog than a thread but somehow I needed to.

Quick word of thanks to everybody that has contributed. A forum is just a blank page unless you have a community willing to contribute and you all have.

Will pop in later to see if I missed any of the hints but before I leave.....

Just because you have a nice new 3ml tank and a limited supply of juice it doesn't mean you have to use it with the new juice it came with ! Think it is going to take 3 days to use that up but by then I will have 8 or so other options.

I have another tank to remake that mistake !

There are three main things:

1. Finding a juice.
2. Finding a device.
3. Finding the new routine.

These are all what it takes to quit smoking. Sometimes the 'finding a device' part can take several tries. If it does, you may lament over the expense. The startup costs will fade, compare it to the cost of smoking. Once you find juice that you like, buy larger bottles (much cheaper). Stick with samples until you get a feel for what you like.

I second the samples idea. Most juice vendors offer 5 or 3 ml sample packs. This is a great way to try a bunch of stuff without hurting the wallet too much and getting to try some different stuff. You will find that out of 10 bottles, sometimes only 2-3 taste good. Hold onto what you did not like and when you go to a meet up they will probably have a toss and take bin for these juices. We are doing that at our event in a couple of weeks, should be interesting to see how it works. I have enough to fill half a box. Also, don't try a juice just once and dismiss it, put it in a try again in a week stash. Its amazing how the taste of a juice changes after a week or so, or your taste buds change. There have been a couple of bottles that I was not crazy about initially and now they are frequent vapes.

Just slipped into the path of unrighteousness for the 4th time since I loaded my Ego so thought I would pop in here and see what I missed.

I maybe about to make one of the least popular statements since posting here but so far, now I got the Ego tank under control. I am preferring the Ego tank to the cardomiser/tank. I got the 1.6 ohm dual cores which should be hunky dory with 1000 mAh batts. This is likely to change of course.

Upside is that my order of liquids will be with me tomorrow per USPS, they are in Orlando, so really looking forward to trying some new flavours. The next order is being prepared already.

I did say I reserved the right to make all the mistakes mentioned and I think I have !

Just checked this thread and it seems I have had e-cig's 11 days not the 9 I thought I did.

My Ego C lasted 4 - 5 days, no new buyers don't panic it didn't die, I needed more battery life due to the wife swiping one of the batteries. So bought a couple of Ego 18650 battery mods. No more batteries dying at work.

Still use the Ego C tanks regularly but also using Smoktec Ego Dual Core cardo's and a cardo tank. Have some more cardo's coming.

The reason I brought this thread back is to re-affirm some words written here.

When you are starting on this road the hardware while important is not vital. The right e juice is vital.

I am still on a cig a day. Just can't get rid of it but I have a plan. My mistake was just buying one nic strength rather than a range. I bought 12mg and I should have covered 12 - 24mg just to make certain. A bottle of each is hardly cost prohibitive if you have invested in the hardware so just make sure you have the bases covered.

Playing with the signature thing and I had to laugh when it said I had saved $58.60, OK it is true as I haven't bought any. Wife still has a pack on her so that is where I steal my 1 a day. That is balanced though by the fact I have spent $579.67 in 11 days.

I know this will turn around in time as I am now covered for most consumables for the next couple of months. You will read about overspending in this thread !

So I am going to continue with my cig a day until my 18mg juice comes in. I think that will be enough to get me over that last hurdle.

One last word of warning. Although significantly better for you than smoking vaping is an addiction. I now find myself looking at mods all over the place and looking at bits and pieces that I can eBay to buy a mod or 4. Quite why I feel I need to have these is really beyond me but seems I am heading that way lol

Again thanks to everyone here. I have been using forums, moderating, admin'ing them for over 12 years and this has to be the friendliest and most giving I have come across. If you are reading this you have found THE vaping place to be and if you wish smoking will be in your past.

I don't miss the squeeling and squelching of the modem as it connected, but I do miss having time to make a sandwich!!! I of course also remember having to learn unix to get onto the internet, before the web was born, good old days of muds and pine and telnet. Back then, just being able to telnet into a computer in New Zealand to look at their city council meeting notes was exciting!!! Good old days...

Not so old for me lol Well the modem part is.

I work in Network Ops and have done for 15 years and counting. Still using Unix on a daily basis but have lost C and C++ but guess I could still manage my way though them.

Remember that thrill of getting somewhere that you shouldn't be. Did make me laugh when I was sent on an Ethical Hacking course for work.

And the work you had to do to get certain files back then, routing ftp all over the place.. good old days. I was in the beginning of my professional student days. Not missing much with losing c++ too prone to memory programming errors. Everything now days has moved to managed code, namely .net and some java for the heavy lifting. Heck, .Net has a library for c++ with garbage collection!!!
