I've been vaping for over three years, and purchased a dozen or so mods over that time. I started out with a cigalike starter kit, but within a month or so I bought my first mod.

I guess I did my research pretty good, as the first two mods I purchased I continue to use on a daily basis. The others are collecting dust in a drawer because they either broke easily/stopped working or they had a design flaw which somehow impaired their use on a daily basis.

I've gone from solo cartomizers, to clearomizers, to cartotanks, and now use rebuildables exclusively for my juice delivery attachments.

I would have purchased a reliable replaceable battery mod (i.e. Provari or Kbox) and a kayfun lite. Although I occasionally try new stuff, the good mod, good batteries, good charger and a kayfun is all I really need. In retrospect, I waited far too long to get into rebuilding.

I started on cig-sized batteries and cartos. Perhaps my biggest hangup was I had trouble getting used to a bigger 18650 sized device. Heck, even an ego seemed huge to me.

My biggest "mistake" in my first year and a half was trying to sample all of those liquids. If I had just gone the "unflavored" route, I would have been much happier and would have saved a boatload of $$.

Me again
Am so enchanted by this site and all the amazing people on here, thanks for having me :)

I know I'm still only at the very beginning of the vaping quest. But I have saved enough money in 6 weeks to acquire a new toy, as a form of backup. I have an istick 20w with an Kangertech Aerotank V2. Which I love. But I was given an iStick 50w by a friend, with a subohm Delta II tank, that I simply cannot handle (yet), even after reading my way through how-tos and quite a few reviews on here.

So, what would you buy if you had to start again, but knowing what you know now? I only need 6 mg of nicotine, like fruity tastes and lots of vapor, if that helps.

If I had to start again, I would get myself an rda and some 30 or 32 gauge kanthal and run that on common ego batteries. I'd keep a tank too, or some sort, but when a tank is having some problem I'd rather just pick up my rda and continue doing what I am doing in real life, not stop what I am doing to see what's wrong with a tank.

How about "what I wouldn't buy" if I had known then what I know now! Avoid the egrip!

that was my first thought too when I saw this thread title.

there's lots of stuff I did buy, that turns out I've never used, mostly stuff I ordered from china that by the time it arrived i'd already moved on in my journey.

this is very easy for me to answer ... a Provari topped with a Kayfun Lite V2+

this setup has been the perfect vape for over a year for me ... I have no interest in buying anything else :vapor:

Forgive me if this is a stupid question.

Does the Kayfun Lite work like the KangerTech Subtank mini?

I googled it, and by the pictures - it's hard to tell.

It seems to have more "parts"

This....so much this, though it took me 2.5 years to realize. I would only add "DIY" in front of unflavored.

If I was starting now, I would buy an iStick 30w/Nautilus mini. They weren't around when I started. I didn't make many bad choices buying devices but spent lots of money on juices trying to find something I liked. I wish I would've started DIY juice sooner but I did start and it has saved me lots of money.

Cool vapenado Bad! I am really liking that Silver Bullet Mech. with the "pitted" finish. Ive never owned a sidebutton mech before, but this has activated my shinyitis!!

If I had to start from scratch, and use what I know now in today's market, I'd probably go with the Snowwolf 200W limited edition and the TFV4 by SMOK. I could work my way up as I became more accustomed to higher wattages. Of course I would still invest in tube mechanicals because they are so good looking (most). I couldn't live without my Sigelei Little White 26650 mech. It was my first mech and I still use it on the reg. I would also invest in authentic mods, over clones, but couldn't say this had I not bought the clones:) I would, however, keep purchasing the cheap RDA and RTA clones to find the ones I really like to make sure I wanted to drop the $ on the real deal.

Would have started building RDAs & RTAs immediately after flushing the GreenSmoke and BluCigs.
Would have bought either a Innokin Disrupter or a SubBox as the Mod.
Right after those a dual 18650 Mech.
Then a quality TC/VW Variable.

wait,,, that's exactly what I have now. Go figure.
Ask me again in 6 months.
Then again a year after that.

I am actually very happy with both of my regulated mods, a Snow Wolf and an SX Mini M. If I were going to do something else-- I probably will, I have shinyitis-- I'd try a squonk box like a Reo and maybe something with a DNA board in it, like a Hanamodz V4. And then I've always wanted a Poldiac...

In that small country of yours there is Jwell, with quite a good range of their own products, do you know them?
Des cigarettes électroniques haut de gamme à prix raisonables. - J Well Luxembourg

Maybe it is fun to visit them and have a look?

Thanks for that, but as it's right next to where I work, I had given it a try a few weeks ago and was disappointed
[Edit: gave j well another chance and....different day, way better experience. Got myself a nice duplx tank, loving this little thing!! ]
