I am gutted I missed this thread.

Apollo? a bit too expensive... unnecessarily so. (Sorry)
18mg - should be perfect.
fasttech liquid? Not great. You might get lucky and find one you like, but it's needles and haystacks. The clearomisers are not recommended unless you order the genuine brand items.

I didn't do too bad on the Apollo really.

Got 2x 900mah batteries
2 clearomizers (got a few more from another site for backup and going to get a protank mini 2)
10ml of juice free. Got 10ml of Classic Tobacco, 10 ml of RY4 and 10 ml of Razzle

Used the 25% off code so got it all for £38, don't think I did too bad really.

Probably could of got it for a tad cheaper if I shopped around but not by much, and that was before I discovered this site

In hindsight knowing what I know now I could have gone for the Vamo and been done with it but I've never even tried an E-Cig after all so didn't want to outlay too much. I'm happy enough, the Ego will serve me well enough for a while. I'd love a mod but it's unnecessary just to kick the cancer sticks to begin with.

I'll look into the Fasttech juice, will get some samples to start off with and see how it goes. At that price it would be silly not too. I'm trying to keep the cost down. Only spend about £28 a month on baccy so don't want to go much over break even to start off with. Then again I'm doing this for health so don't mind too much, you can't put a price on that.

I'll look into the clearos, even the genuine brands are much much cheaper. So are the heads etc.

I don't do fastech (that's just me)

but many many people do and other than slow shipping times
seem to have fairly good results

NOT REALLY SURE, but it seems their juice does-I THINK- ok
from ECF'ers comments...

I just don't know enuff to steer you, sorry

No problem. I'll give them a go. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

What is the juice that tastes most like tobacco to you?

I wrote a long post, but lost it, so I will say good luck, and welcome.

I smoked appx15 lights a day, and 12mg is working for me.
I just started on dec. 28th. My nephew came to visit, quit analogs in late August, and brought his e-cig gear with him. I asked him a lot of questions. He let me use one of his mods to see if I liked it, and the rest is history, albeit very recent history. LOL

I smoked analogs for many years, and can't believe how easy it was to switch to vaping. (For me)

I have an ego twist and an iTaste vv. I like both, but the iTaste is my fave.

I suppose the right answer is only you will be able to tell.
This.

It really depends on just how much you used to smoke, what your kit is and what preference you have in terms of throat hit etc.

So to the OP I would suggest you actually buy liquids from the whole range i.e. 0mg, 6mg, 12mg, 18mg and then just play around with those until you find what works for you.

Also, different flavours tend to taste better or worse with more or less nicotine. It's really a journey.
Me personally for example... I never use 18mg liquids cause I get a raspy throat and it messes up the flavour.

Thank you to everyone for the advice.

Got my ego this morning and from the first toot I could instantly tell this is for me. Such a nice and clean flavour. Loads of vapour too. I tried the Classic Tobacco juice in 18mg first and found the throat hit a little harsh. Then tried it in 12mg and find it just about right. Then tried the RY4 in 12mg and that was just right too, although I find the Caramel flavour a little overpowering and sickly. Will probably use the 18mg for the first vape in the morning and when I'm stressed but use the 12 for an all day vape.

I woke up at 7AM and forced myself not to smoke an analog until I got the ego. First used it at 8.30AM and it's now just gone 3PM and haven't had the urge for an analog in the slightest. It's like normal cigarettes never existed. I am SO happy. Will soon be able to get my stamina for football back to where it used to be. I'm sitting here vapping as I speak and the clean flavour is just heavenly.

My Dad tried it and loved it too. A 50 a day smoker who ordered a kit immediately after trying it and will hopefully kick the analogs too.

These things are a godsend. A bit early days I know but I see no reason why I will ever smoke analogs again. I've thrown my baccy in the bin, some may say that's too premature but I'm so content with the nictone hit I get from this I don't see the need for a cancer stick.

Would like to thank everyone for the kind welcome and advice. Such a fabulous forum. Rest assured you'll be seeing so much more of me, this is just the beginning of my wonderful trip into vapeland.

Cheers :toast:

the ego twist and the itaste are just batteries; what's the real thing you vape with? an iclear? a CE4 disposable? a protank? an evod?

I used to smoke 40 cigarettes a day. I got some 48mg nicotine from Indigo Vapor (which was recommended to me by my local vendor) and then mixed my e-liquids to 24mg strength. After a couple of days I was able to cut back to 3 or 4 cigarettes day and about 10 days later I quit all together.

I am looking at dropping down to 18mg next time I order and hope to quit all together within the next 6 months. I already feel better in the mornings and things that would cause me to be out of breath in the past are easy. Defiantly a big improvement!

Get yourself a second tank, and use a low strength tank while keeping the higher strength option tank available.

Its easy to get carried away chain vaping; you dont have to light anything.

but you dont have to stick to one strength either.

yeahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! double whammy!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's sooo good.

I cannot believe how effective these things are. I tried to give up once before cold turkey and made it about three days and relapsed. A lot of it is the Nicotine and also the hand action. This caters to both. The flavour and cleanliness of the vapour is just wonderful. No stained fingers, teeth, smelly clothes, damaged lungs amongst many other things. They are just so good.

There has been a lot of doubt to their effectiveness and safety in the papers etc. here in the UK. They are even considering banning them for bars etc. and maybe all together. I would fight and fight to see these things get the praise and respect they deserve.

Think of the number of lives and healthcare costs saved if these really took off. It's disgusting that their so inaccurately viewed.

Thank you guys.

I think I'll get 18 and 12mg then. Going to get a normal tobacco flavour and thought I'd try the RY4 as that's supposed to be very good.

Very exited to try vaping for the first time I must say. Love the idea of getting so many different flavours, clearomizers etc. Wanted to get a more advanced E-Cig so I can top up with E Liquid as well as a better battery life. Any of you had experience with the Apollo Ego?

Here's to hopefully many years of vaping, a life without analogs and better health. :)

GOOD suggestions by several folks. I did 18 ... went up to 24 ... and stayed there ... but I am only in this game since 11-18-2013. THROAT HIT can be good and it can be bad. I find drawing into my mouth first and then inhaling or simply letting it out slowly helps a lot. You have to experiment with these new "tools".

I also suggest sticking with the HARDWARE you bought unless you find it failing miserably. You'll get many suggestions about things you know nothing about. You won't know what a "RBA" is or a "MOD" or any of the dozens of other things folks suggest. In time you can learn. Right now - forget about the "new stuff" ........... EVERYTHING is "new" so why get confused, waste money and risk giving up?

WELCOME and GOOD LUCK!

I've only been vaping for 7 weeks now ...

I was a pack-a-day smoker myself .. and I have a very addictive personality lol .. considering/knowing that, I envisioned that I would be chain vaping for a while when I start, just to atleast get over the idea of analogs and to try and prevent from cravings to happen ..

So I actually started at 6mg and was going to go higher if somehow my body told me to ... but so far so good, I'm still at 6mg til this day and I haven't had one craving whatsoever ..

My latest test was going without a vape for 8 hours at work, it was out of my control due to my line of work ... and I surprised myself because I didn't get anxious or nervous or anything and that was just last week ..

I have tried 12 and 18mg nicotine juices and to be honest with you, the THROAT hit was the biggest difference for me, obviously stronger throat hits as you go higher in nicotine .. but for me, personally, I found I don't need a throat hit for satisfaction, just a good flavour lol ...

Congratulations once again !

Trust me, just stay mentally strong about this, you don't need the analogs anymore ... and some may say too premature to toss out your analogs, but I say otherwise even though it's personal .. I was a pack a day and the day I decided to give it up I had 2 cigs left in my pack ..

the pack still sits where I keep my keys and wallet in the kitchen as a reminder to myself that I will never go back to it.. it's been 7 weeks.. I see the pack every day, and not once has looking at it appealed to me !

I guess one of the reasons I kept my pack was at the beginning incase I needed a cigarette they would be there instead of not having a pack and feeling the urge to buy one .. but it worked out in my favour ...

after all the amazing juices I have discovered, I will NEVER go back to analogs no matter what .. I have lost a lot of my stamina over the 15 years I smoked and I miss playing basketball properly like I did before .. and I have a 16-month old son that, indirectly, pushed me over the edge to finally give up the analogs ...

we all have a story, and each story is unique and amazing in its own way, and we can all learn from each other ..

I read through this forum lots of times to mentally prepare me, so everyone's stories and advice are actually helping people before they ever join this forum ...

Oh man, come on. I'm only just starting, trying to exercise a little restraint here lol. This vaping is worse than fishing :D

I think I'm set on a Vamo though for an upgrade in the future. Will look more into the MVP though.

Don't listen to me. :)

I was linking to it because it's cheaper there than almost anywhere (just in case... !>" )

I have both (see sig) and the Vamo is sat unused in the box.
