I went to a bar with two friends, all three of us armed with our ecigs. One of the friends asked if we could vape inside. He wanted to show the bartender that it had no odor, so he took a puff and blew in the bartender's face. Unfortunately, he didn't press the button hard enough and ended up just blowing his breath in the poor guys face. :p

This friend has successfully vaped in three bars. I don't feel comfortable asking if I can do it inside. Like MorbidJeff, I just vape outside. Friends and family have let me vape in their houses and cars though. So that's been nice since it's still cold here, most days.

When I first started there wasn't much heard about vaping. It used to blow people's minds. Now I walk around in work vaping all the time. Everyone is just used to it at this point. I love vaping in bars. Everyone looks at me like I'm breaking the bar rules or simply ask me about it and if it really works. Last night I was asked why I was sucking on a lightsaber.

In locations where smoking is prohibited, I don't bother vaping.

Not sure why not...

I'm in Los Angeles, and have vapped in restaurants all over town, including Beverly Hills, Brentwood, etc.

I've vapped at Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland, and numerous other amusement parks...

I vape in theaters! LOVE not having to go two, two and a half hours during a movie without my nic fix... I do it respectfully, I blow the vape towards the floor, and I like sitting very close, like second row, so I usually don't have many people around me, or sometimes nobody is around where I'm sitting in the theater.

The worst that happens when I vape in public is, people come over and ask about vapping! Nearly every time, they have a friend or relative that they're dieing to tell about vapping, and they are very intrigued... I generally send them here, to ECF, to learn more about it, after explaining the basics.

If we spread the word, it'll be that much more difficult for local governments to restrict or ban eCigs! There is power in numbers!

Besides.... why restrict yourself to laws set up for something that you're not doing?

I'm not into pushing the envelope or doing something to get a reaction.

When I first started vaping I kept it to myself and where smoking was allowed. As I got more comfortable with it I started using my pv in places, just to say I did; WalMart, High School basketball game, etc. Now, after 3 months I am very comfortable vaping in public and in the bar (after asking if it is OK). I still don't openly blow big clouds of vapor where smoking isn't allowed, but I carry my pv in the open and will use it if I want to.

No one has given me a hard time about it. The only people that ask me about it seem genuinely interested and a few of my friends have started vaping after getting information from me.

The most "public" place I vaped so far was at the airport last week. I had an un-scheduled 3-hour layover so spent my time sitting by the window in a bar/restaurant. I vaped discreetly while working on my Ipad and talking on the phone. No mean glares or comments.

A couple of my friends have commented that I look like I'm doing drugs or something. ??? And I'm vaping with a SI Volt 808. Go figure. Not sure how or why it looks that way.

And today makes 1 week with no analogs for me. Woot!!! :toast:

We haven't been too forward with our vaping, we go to outside Craft Fairs and we vape a bit, other than that we follow the rules of not smoking where it is prohibited just to avoid undue attention, but I do have to admit, we were at Walmart and they had only three registers open and lines stretching back to infinity, I started to vape and didn't care what people thought, if they can keep you waiting half an hour to check out they can watch me vape in the meantime.

Did get some looks but I felt much calmer and enjoyed my time in line instead of getting more frustrated. Of course we didn't produce large amounts of vapor and kept it down to a sip here and there, but I must say, it was the first time I didn't get upset about the wait!

We live in a 55+ community in Florida so we get stared at a lot, but we made sure we let management know what we were doing and actually converted a member or two of the staff, that way when people run to the office to "report" our activity, management is ready to explain what we are really doing. Now we get stopped and asked about vaping a lot, there are many here who still smoke and at our age we are all looking for ways to quit, vaping has been a Godsend for us.

I live in a pretty "lawless" town and honestly I vape everywhere except in restaurants. Walmart, gas station , wherever and whenever I need a vape really. No one has ever said anything to me or even asked what it was. Sometimes I wish they would so I could give my vaping spiel.

I take my Provari (and now my K-100 as well) literally everywhere I go. I get mostly strange looks, but a few people have asked me about my PV, and I happily explain vaping and give them a business card with a QR code and contact info for our local vapers group. I figure, if I can convert just one smoker a week, then they do the same, we can raise awareness / acceptance and grow our numbers as vapers in general. The only problems I've had is when I'm vaping in large chain stores like Wal-Mart and get hassled by security, but I have a feeling that's just because they sell the disposables... Keep vaping and spread the word!

If you're worried about people wanting to try your PV, you can always keep a spare cheap d.t. and some alcohol wipes with you as well.
