The answer to this question is: be dropped or take a fall on concrete or tile............. I own both, Provari and evic, and while the evic has some cute-see lil features, its power limitations keep it from performing what the provari can. Variable wattage is just automatic variable voltage in a nutshell. Plus a provari is built like a tank compared to the evic.

Well yes, variable wattage is just automatic variable voltage

But when I grabbed a 1.8 ohm stardust and screwed it on my vamo, it performed just the same as the 2.8 ohm I had on there earlier, without me trying to squint to have to read the numbers, without thinking or adjusting. If I had thrown that thing on any other device besides my kicked telescope it would have blown my head off. I'm honestly and legitimately confused why you or anyone else wouldn't think that was an attractive feature to a large segment of the vaping community?

By the end of Jan...? NICE! Iv seen 1.2 beta (YouTube) and i like it, Im also one of those people who LIKE the puff counter (am i really the minority?) Im having a hard time finding bad things about it (price is high/ BUT LOOK AT THAT SCREEN!) I love the fact it refuses to output a dangerous amount of power (scaling down) Good odds i will get it. I mean heck, worse thing i toss it in the classified section and get a decent amount of $ back and try something else, right?
It is a historic part of the vaping community being the first of its kind for firmware updates.

Even if the new firmware does not make the puff counter display switchable you'll still be able to get that data when you go to the software. I kinda like the puffs too. I was amazed at how many toots I take throughout the day.

The only thing that keeps me from a provari is that I don't want the 'ultimate' right now.. I want to enjoy things like the evic or the cvi and not turn around after one tank and go.. Eh my provari is better and never touch the other apv again..

Between the VAMO (aka night stick , Vision VV VW) and EVIC I hardly touch my ZMAX V1 or ProVari anymore unless I am doing some kinda comparison.

the question that was asked "was what does a provari do that an evic doesn't?" I never said it was'nt an attractive feature. This is a portion of my APV/mod collection. since the pic Ive added a CVI, a home-built DNA20 mod, a Vapros V1(DANGER!), a home built nivel chip mod, and a few more. So, as you can see I find them all attractive. My point was I believe the provari is a sturdier mod then the evic. After the comment I realized this is a GV thread. opps 184462_4615691745233_966214029_n.jpg

Agree rdsok. I posted a nice one to that effect at ProV's forum. stirred up allot or ruckus, and thought. I hope they pay attention.

I won't say the name of the "competition" here..but I will say one individual by the name of David is fixing to blow everything that is considered "great", right out of the water..and I am a proud owner of one of his earlier pieces...

Ah, then I simply misinterpreted what you said/meant. It read to me like you were denigrating vw to a "cute-see little feature". My bad :)

For $100 I would go for it. VV/VW control heads, they have build in charging, ego t mod tubes fir it for upgrading, and finally for $99.95 it comes all that you'll need. The software and firmware updates are nice but the price is the real selling point. If you really want to mess with the firmware you could download it to your mac edit it there and simply upload it from a public or friends computer. It says it doesn't support windows 8 but I still want it.

My question is: Should I get the eVic?
Bought 2 eVics when they first came out about 1 month ago or so.

Although limited to 5 volts, they perform as expected, battery goes all day on standby, no voltage drops, remaining battery power indicator dead-flawless, 510/ego threads trouble-free.

Used daily 16 - 18 hours (500 hours on them already - each), good workhorses even under freezing temps, no regrets.

My Stash after to years LOL... you be doing good, keep it up.

2 years and still No provari (sad really) with that one for me it's the steller 2 warranty.
However they really need to get on the OLED/VW (no scrolling) thing now so I'm waiting and hoping for a V3 from them. (IMO)

nice setup! but alas i dont see a skeeter in there anywhere lol

I realize my unrefined Neanderthal viewpoint on this is probably laughable around here ... lol ... and that's all OK.

If those pictured above were mine, I'd throw them all in a drawer, but use one. When it breaks down, I'd grab another one, same deal ... until they were all gone

How many fine folks here vape over 4.2 volts/8 watts?..lets see a show of hands...
Yeah, 4.2 through 4.6 is mine, but most of the time at 4.3. Below that point the taste turns heavily acidic, and above 4.6 it gets tasteless and is harsh on the throat.

For me it's about juice rotation and color coordination of my wardrobe... :D but I'm funny that way.
