Spent too much money on my bad vape habit but I'm excited about it and being smoke free and feeling so much better. Hopefully after a few more months my vape buying spree and addiction will taper off a bit and will level out to just smooth easy vaping to relax.

That's why I keep my little signature counter: it tells me how much I'm allowed to spend on vaping. Right now, I'm still over what I would have spent on cigs, but I'm getting to the stage where the hardware is beginning to stabilize to a happy place (still have to sort out some tank stuff...) and I completely fell for the newbie flavor rampage, so I should be set for liquid for a while...

I no longer cough,, my sense of smell and taste are better and overall I feel good.

My only quibble is that I am putting on weight. I follow the 5:2 and exercise every day - as I did before changing to ecigs on Jaunaru 4th this year - and about 2 weeks later I noticed my weight creeping up. I don't want to stop vaping - has anyone else expereinced this?

Just a little bit, and I think it's because everything tastes so much better, although I've read somewhere that the metabolic rate changes when you quit smoking, though I have no idea how that affects things when you're replacing nicotine.

Actually at first I continued losing weight (I was still on my post-holiday diet), mainly because instead of sitting around noshing when I was craving a smoke, I could just sit around and vape. But now, it does seem to be creeping back up; not sure how much is change in my metabolic rate, and how much is just because everything tastes better. But it's not a drastic gain, just a slight reversal of the losses I had from my post-holiday diet.

Hahaha I did a dud one the other night (im not sure how to actually put it in my signature) but ive not spent near of what I usually spend on smokes and I've nearly got two of everything :p apparently I've avoided 1007 analogs and saved $830 in the last 33 days.... a rough estimate of what ive spent on vape gear is around $500 so im winning :D

Gum/teeth sensitivity were BIG deals for me during the first couple of months.

Got to make sure to vape less at night, man I had some late nights when 1st starting out.

I get winded much less, no hacking, coughing in the morning. I'm still waiting to cough up the accumulated crud from my lungs, I know it is there.

Othern' that, it is ALL good.

I had wondered why my gums were hurting the last week or so I've had alot of blood when brushing to. I dont know if its got anything to do with it but I had a tooth thats been cracked for awhile and it fell apart yesterday.....
Its great to see all the good that vapings doing for everyone

As soon as I noticed I was putting weight on I adjusted my diet. Nothing seems to be working. Despite continuing the 5:2 my weight is going up and I'm at a loss. I don't want to go back to analogs, but am wondering if my metabolic rate would kick back up if I smoked them every so often.

I never knew gum sensitivity was associated with giving up smoking as I knew smoking was bad for dental health. Mine have been a bit sore for a few days now and I hadn't made the connection. Nothing serious though, and I assume it will pass. I was couging up black stuff for the first couple of weeks, but that has stopped now.

I did have quite strong cigarette cravings at about 7-10 days, but that has passed now.

I'm noticing my sense of smell and taste improving. I've never been able to tolerate very spicy foods, but I've just tried to eat a curry that used to be at the top end of my spice-tolerance and it turns out I can't eat that one any more. But mostly it's a good thing and I am enjoying my food more, but without craving food all the time like I have on previous (failed) attempts to give up smoking.

I have Raynaud's, which is supposed to be made worse by smoking. I haven't noticed an improvement with that yet. But who knows, there are many other things that can cause it too. To be honest it's the health risks (cancer) that I'm now avoiding that are more important to me, but maybe soon I will also be able to use my hands in the mornings.

I have Raynaud's too, and it actually got worse for a while - about two months into vaping. At 3-4 weeks, I had the coughing/sinus thing, and that went away, then the Raynaud's kicked up. Went back to normal, and now seems better than it's been in years.

Even after 37 years of heavy smoking, I never had shortness of breath, but I do note I have a lot less chronic fatigue. I have some health issues, and that is my worst symptom, so for that to improve is huge for me!

Is it really worth it, to breathe in cancer, just to be slimmer? Seems like biting off your nose...

You could try increasing the nicotine; it's a stimulant after all, and if I get a bit too much, I feel a little hyper. Or maybe even the WTA might help. But I can't see that weight loss or gain is any reason to go back to cancer sticks, if you've already gotten rid of them. It would seem to me that if anything in your head is telling you that it's a good idea, it's the old addiction talking, trying to give you a good reason to do something so health-destructive.

BTW, what is the "5:2" ?

I have a new side-effect of giving up the coffin nails. This evening we had to drive out to Lowes, so we're sitting there in traffic, listening to the radio, and Stairway to Heaven comes on, which in this family is the DJ's way of telling us to turn it up. :D At the end, when Plant is basically screeching... 25 yrs ago I lost the ability to hit those high notes without my voice cracking and just refusing to go there... BUT NOW I CAN HIT THEM AGAIN!!!

Being able to sing along with Stairway to Heaven... PRICELESS!!!

I don't have a cough in the morning, my hair and fingernails grow at an alarming rate and things just taste and smell better. Except cigarettes of course. Those I cannot tolerate even for a second.
Seems like I'm always needing to trim my nails now. Didn't occur to me there might be a connection to stopping smoking...hmmmmmm.
Can't really tell if all three of my hairs are growing more or not.

There is other ways to increase your metabolic rate rather than smoking... there is plenty of natural tablets that you can take even some pharmaceutical ones that work quicker. Even certain eating programs that increase it. Id suggest if u dont want to take tablets then a good eating program for you to have a go of would be Body Trim.

Up you water intake, Sometimes we are thirsty not actually hungry. Also i decided to drink same caffeinated coffee to help suppress my hunger. I usually drink decaf. I put on a eight pounds but now i seem to be getting it under control.

I use to huff and puff bringing the laundry upstairs. I use to get heaviness in my chest. I also use to wheeze and use my inhaler alot. Now i can get up those basement stairs with no problems with my breathing, the heaviness in my chest is gone and i use my inhaler maybe once a month if that. My newest improvement is i have lots of energy now! It took almost 4 months to really notice it.

Bad experiences....collecting e-cigs Good experiences: I smell better, can taste again, smell again, notice that my allergies are worse (you ask how this is a good thing well it made me go to the doctor lol and I found out a lot more was wrong than just allergies too much to list here just through some skin tests and blood tests!) I don't get migraines as often, I use to get migraines at least 3 a week now I get them 2 times a month. HUGE IMPROVEMENT there!

I love that song! I never could hit those high notes either while smoking so maybe now that I am vaping I should give it a try you think?
