What is an evod. I am sorry if I am sounding crazy. Just trying to figure out what everything means. I like my ego but I do want to get a second one as a "backup". I just don't want to spend a lot of money. I can justify the first purchase to the wife. Not sure about the second one. I bought a 10ml juice with it and I have only had to add to it once since yesterday. Of course I was home all weekend and I am sure a work day will be different. The guy that sold me the juice said it was equivalent to a carton of cigs which should last me more than a week.

Another of those fluid terms, Ray. Use to be an Evod was a brand and type of small topper - the tube, mouthpiece, coil and wick that holds the juice. Now, they also put out a line of batteries with the same name.

You really do need at least two of, well, everything. In case of failure, you don't want an excuse to go back to smokes. You need 2 batteries so you can use one while the other charges. Two toppers to at least have one to use while the other gets cleaned.

About 10 ml being a carton and lasting a week... Pretty bold assertions, as there's a lot of variation in how much people vape. I vape about 2 - 3 ml a day. Can['t really say where that might fall in the "average", and don't particularly care :) I vape for my enjoyment, not for Mr. Average. But you need to have a decent supply on hand, and until you know your consumption, and maybe after, more is better.

I went to another local vape shop looking for a backup to my ego-t. They were trying to sell me on the mechanical ones. While the idea of a better throat hit and more smoke grabbed my attention, the price did not. $185 at a minimum. I am asking everyone here where can I find one that has the bigger throat hit and maybe a little more smoke. I work in construction so this is always in my pocket. I like the size of my ego and wouldn't mind one being a little bigger for a lot less of a price.

An EGO C Twist or Vision Spinner with a Kanger Protank is a great way to get started!

I agree completely. I've been vaping for 1 month today. I started with the cheapie copies & cheap tanks, and now I have 3 Spinners and a dozen Kanger tanks & juices I rotate thru. I think once you find the right juices & setup, you'll be fine. There are lots of variables, and we are all different, so just pick something & get started is the best advise I can give you.

That model Kamry is a VV/VW mod, not a mechanical. Haven't heard a lot about it, but the VW mode only allows 1 watt steps, most others go in 0.5 watt increments.

If looking at mid-range VV/VW, I'm pretty happy with my Innokin SVD, and while it seems to run hotter than set, my KSD KMax is also pretty decent. And then there's the Vamo and the Zmax as well, in that middle ground.

Mechs can be had a LOT less than that 185, but you do need to look into proper and safe use before going that way.

With any replaceable battery mod, you'll also need - up front - to get at least two batteries and the charger for them, upping the cost to start, but potentially saving money in the long run.

You might also consider something like a Spinner, a VV ego style, that lets you adjust the voltage to the coil and thus adjust the vape. Cheaper initially, but of course when the battery eventually will no longer take or hold a good charge, you toss the whole thing (please recycle!) In general, upping the voltage to a given coil will increase the amount of vapor since it boils off more liquid.

Lots of places online have the SVD, Gotvapes has the Kmax. And Spinners (Twists and other names as well) are all around, too. So check some of the vendors (Forum Suppliers tab at the top of the page is a good place to start) and see what the best prices are at the moment.

You'll need a topper for any battery type you get. It could be a tank, a carto, a clearo, a dripper...

But the toppers you already have will probably work. 510 and eGo threads are the most common these days, and most batteries will have either 510 or both.

And it's worth trying several different types. Clearos, maybe the easiest to get used to, come in top coil and bottom coil varieties, and vape different. Some like cartos and/or carto tanks. Some like dripping. Nice to try several types and decide what you like.

whatever battery you opt for they essentially do the same thing - heat up the coil/s at a certain voltage/wattage, a variable wattage device is a must if i were you

so given they all do the same thing its more about what it looks like, feels like in your hand, and what tanks will fit seamlessly on it

there are far too many and its a case of trial and error

personally the itaste range are my favorites, the vv v3 is a particular good start up kit, you also can get mini tanks that are just as good as their big brother
