Hello. I'm trying to make my own 15mg nic with a 18mg and 12mg bottle of liquid. I was wondering what everyone uses to measure their juice? I was thinking of getting a reusable glass syringe since I can reuse it but not sure if I needed to also get the needle with it. Any suggestions? This is the type I'm referring to. http://www.ebay.com/itm/331254264232

4 different sizes of syringes, Precision scale, Some graduated cylinders. The reason for more sizes is that with a 10ml syringe you would have a problem measuring .2ml. I have a 1ml glass and plastic, 3ml plastic, 5ml plastic and 10ml plastic and glass. 3 diff sizes of graduated cylinders and a precision scale or ones you can get in powder form like EM and Menthol and some flavors.

I'm just starting out at DIY, so I am just making small batches so far (biggest one so far was 45 ml). I have one 3 ml syringe, which is kind of a pain because as steved5600 pointed out, very small amounts of flavor are hard to measure, and I have to use several syringe loads of the nic base and VG. So I will get a 1 ml and 10 ml next time I shop for supplies.

You will want a blunt tip needle to reach the bottom of the bottles you are drawing from. Larger and smaller needles to match the syringe sizes would probably be good. Glass is probably nice, but will break if you drop it, and I have been reusing the plastic one I have by just running hot water through it a few times.

Other than the one syringe, all I have is the reused empty juice bottles from prior juice purchases. But when I get to where i want to make bigger batches, graduated cylinders would be really helpful. And if you want really good precision or will use powders, a scale is nice. But I think I would invest in a UC cleaner to speed up steeping before that.

You need several size syringes and needles. What you have to understand is a 10ml syringe is good for measuring your base liquid but not good for measuring small amounts of flavoring. Such as a half a ml (.5ml) or a tenth of a ml (.1ml). This is very important when making small test batches. So for that you need a smaller 1ml syringe that can measure from a 10th of a ml to a ml. The different size needles will compensate for the thickness of the liquid. For instance you will not be able to draw up VG with an 18 or 20ga needle because the liquid is to thick. But you will be able to draw it up with a 14ga needle or no needles attached at all.

So my recommendation is

syringes:
1ml
3ml
10ml

Beaker or cylinder:
50 ml measuring cylinder

Needles:
14ga
18ga
