Those of you willing to share your doctor's input when you told him/her her quit tobacco cigs and substituted it with the electronic cigarette.

Positive or negative feedback from your physician is welcome.

Anything besides cigarettes was considered good news. Also lost 80 lbs so I could have told him I was vaping cow patties and he'd been pleased. lol

It's been almost a year since my last exam, but I had stopped smoking for a few months when I went in. I told my MD that I was no longer smoking, and what I was using instead. She had never heard of e-cigarettes, but seemed impressed after checking me out, considering my history of smoking. She said she would have to look into it to see if she might recomend it to other patients. I'll be seeing her again in a little while for my yearly visit, so I'll see what she has to say. And , in case you are wondering, I really do see my MD once a year.

Annual check-up last November. Doc asked if I was still smoking. I told him I hadn't had a cigarette since July, but that I am using an electronic cigarette.

He was glad that I had quit cigarettes, but really had no opinion about E-cigs one way or the other. He said he didn't know much about them and that at least I wasn't inhaling 4000 different chemicals.

He seemed to think that the nicotine is not necessarily harmful, just addictive.

I recently went in for a complete physical, I just turned 43 and decided it had been about 8 years since the last one, so time. The doctor seemed pleased about it, made a note in my chart that I had quit smoking, and asked me if I'd picked it up from watching "The Tourist", which had just come out about then.

I told him no, I don't normally watch movies in a public theater. Too many rude people.
