What would be the top 2 or 3 units straight off the shelf?

I am new to vaping, started at the first of the year as a new years resolution to give up analogs. I started with a kangertech evod setup and have since upgraded to a evod twist 2 and protank 2 setup.

My question is, if I were doing some shopping for a completely new setup, what would be my top options.

I am not interested at the moment in having to have a physics and engineering degree to vape. I want something that is pretty much as simple as the screw in screw out replace atty i am using, and something that would last me most the day battery wise.

I am sure I am leaving out info that you need to make a suggestion so please feel free to probe me for more info.

juice wise I am mixing my own and will probably be in the 60/40 vg/pg range if that makes a difference.

Thanks

I would go with a MVP box mod the 20 watt version (38.00 dollars) its is native 510 thread but has an adapter to use ego thread stuff like yours. I like this because you can use 510 RDA's , 510 Tanks, or with the (Small) adaptor I can use my Iclear16 or kanget tech pro tank Mini, and cheap tanks ect . It offers me the best of both worlds. I also like that it is super simple to use there is an ohm meter,, a meter for voltage and an meter for wattage. the power indicator is super simple green for full charge to half charge , yellow for half charge to low charge and red for its time to recharge. It is a size thats super comfortable in the hand as well. Oh yea it charges other things like cell phones and yes I have had to do it and it work wonderfully the unit the MVP 20 W has plenty of power for my needs I use my tanks from 7-13 watts and my RDA's from 9-15 watts so far I have not had much need to go above 15 watts. I am a moderately heavy user and I get 2 days out of a full charge it does not quick charge at all it take 4-5 hours to charge a dead battery . I often charge this when Im sleeping and yes it takes that long. The plug in for charging is a mini usb so all of the chords you already own will fit with it. You can also charge this off a solar panel and another battery banks super convienet for camping or travel . I put a 5n Volt double usb port in my car's cigarette lighter plug it charges there as well. It allows you to pass through meaning you can vape it when its charging i use this all the time. So Far its satisfied all my needs and then some especially at 38.00 bucks my MVP 2.0 cost ,me 68 bucks you get almost double the power for practically half the cost. As for other gear I have a magma RDA which has huge flavor and moderate cloud production, I have Doge Compition RDA totally built for cloud chasing, and some other stuff this has been all that I needed for the price you should definitely consider one of these I have read they are great for newbies and know many veteran vapors who have used the MVP2.0 for years and the newer MVP20 W as well . Just so you know they are coming out with a MVP30 it can do 30 watts and has a much bigger battery maybe you might wanna wait till that comes out its a big step up . dealers are listing it but are not selling it yet might be the mod to get remember its a 3800 mah battery instead of a 2600 mah battery it will be bigger I like the small size of the MVP 20 W. But I have no intentions of getting one I am totally happy with my MVP20 W . If I were to get something else it would probably be a 50 or 100 war box mod but thats way down in the future best of luck to you Remi Love

Heh, "not having to have a physics and engineering degree to vape" and " I am mixing my own" is kind of a strange combination! However, I'll take it you're implying you don't want to rebuild or play with non-integrated batteries.

Istick or MVP 20 watt is about as easy as it gets. Both will have enough battery life to get you through the day, and work great with your current tanks. Personally, I prefer the Istick...smaller, longer battery life, and my MVP seems vastly underpowered by comparison (or maybe the Istick is overpowered, whatever).

I suppose you could also upgrade tanks "a little bit" by replacing the EVODs with MOWs and Protank with an Aerotank, for what difference adjustable airflow will make, but I'd actually recommend skipping that (and the Nautilus-es) and saving the money for your first rebuildable. That is, once you're convinced it isn't even close to rocket science.

Have fun.

I agree with the positives Remi pointed out about the MVP. I have only had the MVP 2, but the things I really like about it should also be in the 20W and soon to be released (at least I keep hearing so) MVP 3. I picked up a 3' mini usb cable and that gives me comfortable access for vaping/charging while at my computer or in the car. I never have to plug it in just for charging.

For tanks, I run some Kanger T3D tanks for trying new juices and a couple Kanger Aerotank Mega's for regular vapes. For me, they work well and look good.

And that is my K.I.S.S. principle gear. :vapor:

MVP 20 watt and a nautilus tank would be my second choice

MVP 30 watt, or any 30-50 watt well reviewed box mod and the Atlanis tank would be my top pick if you like a huge vape... the CF SUB battery for the Atlantis is actually my daily driver just because its durable and not much to break, but playing with wattage is good to dial in a great vape.

I'm with him, it's wrapping a wire around a 22 mm drill bit 7-10 times, probably cost about 5 cents to make and your new box mod Eleaf iStick 30W or DNA 30 will show you the ohms but if you want to keep stabbing at coil heads the aspire mini 1.6 ohm BVC is not too bad.

I would skip the nautilus and similar tanks and a least jump to a Aspire Atlantis along with a box mod that'll give you at least 30w and fire something at least down to .3 or .4 ohms. It's one thing not to want to jump into advanced rebuilding (I get that) but don't make the mistake of taking the tiniest baby steps possible. Everyone I know that's tried that regretted blowing all the money they did on each little step. The Atlantis is a reasonable step with great vapor/flavor with no need to rebuild. Thus no need for an engineering degree. Weaving your way through the works of vaping can be an expensive trip if you don't take some bigger steps.

If you're interested in rebuilding try a Lemo.

Thanks for the replies.

Chemistry I can handle and I am putting most of my research into the juice mixing at the moment. Once I have that science down is when I will jump into the rebuildables and other such hardware sciences.

The MVP 20 seems like it may be right up my ally but I will do some research on all the suggestions here and do some more digging in the forums for ideas and hopefully find something that works well.

Thanks again, its good to have others to go to for advice.

Brushy,

I dont intend to take a baby step, thats why I asked for the top few options. Price is not a huge concern I just have other parts of this hobby/ smoking cessation project that I am focusing on and would like the best experience with the knowledge I have now. I agree this can get expensive and I am trying to avoid having 13 mods and 11 tanks laying around that I used to decide I needed the X/Y setup....great advice.

I just ordered an istick 30w. But I will get the 50w (4400 mah battery) and a Joyetech Delta ll when they come out at the end of the month.

Right behind you...
After a very short research period I am considering an Aspire Atlantis, IPV Mini combo. Think that would suffice me for a while?

Yep, it will, but you'll also open the rabbit hole once you see what high wattage and high airflow can do for you. It's up to you whether or not you go down that hole. :)

You're also going to find that you'll probably prefer higher VG blends, and you'll be needing a LOT less nic..12mg juice in the setups you vape with now will knock you on your backside with the Atlantis, you'll want to step down to 6mg or 3mg if you chain vape.

The IPV Mini 30 may not be powerful enough for you with the Atlantis. Most prefer the Atlantis at 30 to 35 watts.

If your fresh into vaping and not 100% sure yet if it's for you, you really can't go wrong with a $65 purchase:
1. Eleaf Istick 20w or 30w.
2. Aspire Nautilus Mini w/BVC coils.

If you already know that you enjoy vaping, and it's something you want to continue doing, skip the PWM devices for $210-$300:
1. Vaporshark rDNA40 or a Hana Modz DNA40.
2. Aspire Nautilus Mini or Nautilus w/BVC coils.
Option: If you want some extra batteries to swap in and out, an Efest LUC V4 battery charger and some Sony 18650 VTC5 batteries ($33).
Option: You can pop on an Aspire Atlantis, sub ohm, or try almost everything with the hana or vaporshark mods.
