I mean realistic improvements, something the manufacturers might want to put in practice on the next models coming out. Let me start:

- Anti-roll design. Buttons don't always achieve that and sometimes it's just better to lay you e cig on the side to prevent it from getting tipped over.

- Water resistance. Sure vents are reassuring on a device you bring to your mouth every minute, but water resistance doesn't mean they should blow towards your face. Looking at my Provari in details, they included a space around the tail cap and extension threads for an o-ring. All that would be needed is some plug that can easily let the pressure out from the cap's hole in the case of battery venting. Anything over IPX 4 rating would be nice for someone who likes to be outdoors like me. Dunk proof would mean that you could eventually drop your e cig in the sink and not worry about more than drying your tank and the top contacts.

- Lanyard attachment. It is a law of biology: anything you hold in your hand you will drop sooner or later. Having a lanyard attachment point would make it feel much safer for vaping while walking, boating, whatever you might want to do outdoors.

- Anti scratch coating or stickers for displays

- Battery cap lock-out feature. That's easy to achieve: coat the threads on the main tube and it's so much simpler than going through menu options. It also means your battery won't suffer from parasitic draining when storing it for a little while (if you have multiple mods...)

There, I said it... I want something that includes all the extra features of a high quality flashlight! It shouldn't bring the price up by that much since I don't propose anything that didn't exist before.

Here's one more:
- Quick release system to change tanks really fast :D

I bet you guys have fancier ideas than I do...

Don't care how quick or slow the release is but a connector that is more suited for a power connection than the 510 or 808. Screwing it in to make two flat surfaces meet for the positive pin is just poor engineering. The center pin should have a pin and socket connection, not relying of lousy insulators to keep from shorting out, more like a BNC connector or RCA plug..

I can see a 2 pin quarter turn connection like on a fluorescent tube would make things a lot better.

Better connection system seems to be the dominant consensus so far!

Coil "replacements" that last forever. IOW, no mo replacing them. They could call them eternal coils.

Sounds great, but I wonder what the coils would be made of. Stainless steel is already extremely hard to kill. How about pre-made coils that can be installed in a more standard atomizer form? Pre-made coils for an atomizer halfway between a rebuiladble and disposable atomizer.. perhaps?

- wicking/flow control; the sophia has it, and so does the smoktech magoo (ithaka clone)
- hybrid adapters; skip the 510 thread and go straight from well insulated center pin to batter top.

- for a mod: optional slide on protective rubber tubes/coats in various styles; can give your mod anti-rolling, impact resilience, grip.

at 2cents a coil, we're half way there:

I wonder how the 510 became the standard when ego connections seem sturdier.
