Somewhere out there
I want an inexpensive VW box mod, about the size of an MVP, that takes 18650 or 18500 batteries. Shrink the VTR, make it from aluminum instead of steel, make the ring large enough for a kayfun and I'd be happy.

I also want a glass tank Kayfun. Something designed with glass from the start, not as an afterthought.

YEs; interchangeable control heads; between the battery tube and the topcap/tank-interface - maybe you buy a cheap PWM control head to start off with, then later on you ungrade to a better control head with big screen and more buttons.

I really meant a standard tank midsection so we could customize the tank window style, but I like what you're saying: basically all parts could be interchangeable: battery tube, regulator, tank atomizer section, tank midsection and tank top/tip. Start with a cheaper kit and end up with a Provari-Kayfun without buying 12 complete systems in the mean time. You could even switch you tank from bottom to top coil without changing the whole tank!

Yes. Interchangeable parts. Upgradeability instead of having to junk the good parts you have to get a whole new device.

We're closing in on a winner next gen e-cig. Of course, adapters should also allow us to upgrade our current setups in steps.

The implication of this is that, as technology gets better for each part, we'd all want an upgrade since it's so much cheaper than getting a whole tank or mod. (Gotta motivate the makers into this! Volume sales are always better than high prices...)
