What would you start out with knowing what you know now

Not exactly an innovative idea, but I think I'd recommend a pair of simple (nonVV) Joye eGos with some 2.0 single coils, and maybe a Vivi Nova with some extra 2.0 heads.

That's about as trouble-free as you can get without buying those (awful) pre-filled cartos, I think.

If I was a newbie and had to start over I would go with a pair of 1000 mah ego twists and a pair of the Vision Vivi Nova 2.5's.

Easy and convenient to use, good vape, and easy to maintain with no fiddling. When you done with one tank just take it apart, rinse the componets in warm water, and set them aside for the next day and fill your other tank.

Instead I tried one of the hyped ecig kits that failed: bad charger, bad atomizers, and batteries, the ego c tanks: which gave me good taste, but leaked, Apollo tanks; which gave me great taste but leaked and had wicking issues when the got below half full, CE 2 Cleros which did not give me much taste, I had to fiddle with, and did not last long, then moved on to Vivi Nova tanks, carto tanks, and VV & PV devices. Whew!

I threw out most of the stuff I bought in the first 6 months this morning. Some used some not. If I could have skipped the first four steps it would have been great, but i learned a lot.
Fortunately I found this forum and it got me on the right track.

I'd go with the Ego Twists and some kanger t2's and t3's. Simple enough to use and decent results. No need to confuse my noob self with RBA's or anything fancy.

knowing what i know now, i'd start with a vivi nova and a twist/spinner. For the money i really think it is an unbeatable combo

of course, if we're talking only what was around then, I would've gone with a riva and some of visions earlier tanks. Ce2 tanks are a bandwagon i really wish i'd jumped on earlier

I'd start out with the same eGo-T that I started out with a year and a half ago. That way I would still be able to learn how to make anything work.
I will promice you this: you can make that Provari produce the worse vape you could ever imagine any time you want it to.
If you first learn how to get the best out of anything that Provari can then provide the best vape you could ever imagine.

OP posted a provari and a few carto tanks. It's a really good starting point. I still carry them around; most versatile, imho, and least fiddly. Top up tank at night, change carto when bad, there's really nothing to it.

Very simple and does the job.. I like that

If I had the options that we have today compared to 3-4 months ago when I first started vaping, then I would start with a VAMO+ViviNova+phoenix or A7 RBA for dripping instead of 2*EgoTwist (RIP after 2 months). I would skip Boge cartos, Kanger T3, and DuD (or any other Genesis-style RBAs) because I (1)hate the inconsistencies and workmanship of made in China cartos (2)hate airy cool vape and (3)lungs can't handle vape from SS mesh (can't stand the slightest metallic taste).

I wouldn't order these ego knock-offs I got now, cheap crappy cartomizers and juices... wouldn't spent ton on tobacco flavored juices (direct cigarette brands "mocking")

I would order Vivi Nova's, VV (provari/vamo) mod and juices that are now in mail. Wick & kanthal.

Would've saved ~250$ from not buying stuff for "trial and error"

I would have gotten an Ego Twist starter kit instead of the regular Ego batteries and cartridges with filler. The cartridges were worthless, but they did force me to drip, and I am still in love with dripping. I also wouldn't have gotten the 24 mg juice thinking more nicotine for the same price mean a better value, what it mean was more dizziness and sand blasting throat hits. Finally, I wouldn't have bought all those leaky Stardusts and just get the Vivi Novas instead.

I'm still new at this. Hell this time last week I was still smoking half a pack or more to get me through work.

If I knew 2 months ago that the 901-T and a drip tip on a 1300 mAh battery was all I needed to get off cigs, I wouldn't have wasted my time with half a dozen cartos and clearos.

Now I know I have something that works reliably for me every single day, gives me a fine degree of control over every aspect of my vape in terms of flavor and throat hit and requires no more maintenance than topping off a tank twice a day.

Knowing what I know now, I would start with a ProVari V2 and a carto tank. Simple, works every time with flavor and vapor consistent on every pull.

I would have skipped ANYTHING with silica (clearos in any form) or that does not take a stand alone battery (eGo, 510's, Riva, Blu).

I certainly can't say I would start with the RBA's I use, those took some hands on time learning and wouldn't do well to start.

If you are pretty sure vaping is for you buy a Provari. Otherwise I'd suggest a Zmax and equip with Vivi Novas.

If you're a raw beginner I suggest an Ego kit (with VV twist batteries if you can find them). Clearomizers will get you started. I have a lady friend who moved from Blu disposables to Egos with clearomizers and has stuck with them happily.

I have a feeling that a lot of folks are like me and continue to experiment with new 'stuff' in the constant search for the perfect vape experience. I thought I had found it with Vivi novas but once I learned to work a ss wick and coil my Vivis became my daytime carry around vape and the genesis types are what I use when I am just sitting around in the evenings. If I have a point here - it is sensible and reasonable to find a setup that works for YOU and avoid the hobby of collecting vaping gear. This 'habit' obviates the cost savings that ex-smokers find when they first become vapers.
