Ok my fisrt and only device arrived yesterday. It was a Provari. I now realize that it might be a good idea to have a backup device. What would you all recommend? I was thinking about a Zmax telescopic flat top and I also looked at a video review of the Vamo which P Bassaro was very impressed with. Please let me know what you use for a backup. Thanks Stu

Vamos for $35 right now...check vaporjoes for the link. The only VV/VW device I have. You simply can't beat it for the money.
Agreed, mechanical backups make the most sense to me, nothing to go wrong that you can't fix yourself.
My Provari Mini is my backup device. My Atmizoo Roller is my everyday carry.
This means the ProVari Mini just sits and collects dust, or I use it as a base to rebuild my atomizers. Just not that great of a device, but it has good resale value, like a Honda, then again any decent mod does.

Vamo for sure. A good variable watt model may even become your main PV at some point.
Anyvape CVI. Costs around $50, comes in fun colors, can do 18650 or 18350 pretty cheap (the 18350 tubes are less than $20.) and honestly the Anyvape is nice enough to not be a backup, but for the price it's great.
i have multiple mods so i can't really comment on just having 1 backup but...i do have rarly used mods on hand that i think could be important if my other mods go

I'm a newer member of the mech club too. One sigelei #8 and a #19 coming soon (I hope!). I bought my first mech thinking of using it as a "backup" for my vamo but I've found I actually use the two in reverse, so another mech as a backup for my first mech! I'd be using a Provari the same way I'm sure. It's not that it isn't a good device... it's that IF you have the mech thing down it's a hard vape to beat. Simple as that.
A backup for a backup for a backup for a backup? I'd like to find a *reliable* 650+ mah VV passthrough to throw in the glove box. I have a USB cigarette lighter adapter already and figure if everything else fails I should still be able to charge and/or vape, as long as the battery in my car is still good.

I would go with something small like a go-go or spinner or twist of some sort. It's nice to have a smaller backup for when you want to pack light.
