More Clark Griswold than Clark Kent, truthfully. LMAO I'm a dork, not a superhero. A lovable dork, but a dork regardless. If you have some Xmas lights you need flubbed up - I'm your guy.

Nicknames are a big thing in Iowa where I grew up - everyone got one, and early. My dad is (also) Kent Brooks - I got dubbed Clark so he didn't think mom was yelling at him, I wager. In my teen years, part of the "fun" is being able to say "SUPERMAN, DUH" (while going full ......) when people inquire about the connection to the Super One. :) I lived in the same small Iowa town for the first 18 years of my life, graduated in a class of under 80 people, and am still "family close" with quite a few of my high school friends... they insist on continuing to spin a series of urban myths and legends about acts of stupidity I performed in my persistent but ever failing effort to live up to the "superhero" billing. Not sure if that makes any sense. Okay, some of the stories are true, but I am not going to say which ones... yet. LMAO

LMAO I had a similar story because I have the same name as my dad. People would call me little Russell but by the time I was 13 I was already bigger than my dad. Then it was shortened to just "R3," as I'm the third. Sadly, the confusion was never completely resolved and I get messages sometimes on Facebook from my dad's friends. Sorry to hijack the thread, but do you know of Okoboji, Iowa?

I have mine because I'm a HUGE Star Trek fan.

Ok ok, so I could be wrong about that.

I have a longtime student who is in her late 60's and her first name really is Darth. She said it made little kids either cry in fear or follow her around waiting to see her "use the force" after the Star Wars movies came out.

I was always a big boy and in my youth I was a bit of a scrapper. Not that I went looking for it but, at the same time I wouldn't walk away from it either. If you were nice, I was nice. I was given the name by a great friend of mine one night at a large party with a group of my friends. An inebriated gentleman was harassing the ladies and being very disrespectful. When I confronted him about it, he took a shot. OK, my turn. After he was laid out on the floor, my boy said to him " You just got knocked out by Distortoblotto!" The name stuck. I am a peaceful fun loving Kat today, just don't do any thing to harm women, children, old folks or animals. That and thieves are about the only things that may cause the old Distorto to come out. At one time I was also listed under Distortoblotto in the phone book.

Was she german? That's an odd name for someone that age and being female. LOL.

When my wife was pregnant I tried to convince her that Anakin would be a good name for our son.....I lost that fight.

I'll admit that I am not on to mince words nor do I believe in blowing smoke up ones backside. When you admitted to cruising down the highway in your Prius at 45mph, My first thought was "Yep, pretty dorky! ;) With that being said lets define dork.

Dork; Someone who has odd interest's and is often silly at times. A Dork is also someone who can be themselves and not care what anyone thinks.

Not such a bad thing is it? I'd like to think that we're all Dorks.

And while you may not be Superman in the super hero sense, you certainly are the super hero of the juice. You can take that to the bank my brother. We can all attest to that. :)

Clark Griswald? An awesome dude! :p

O.K, Group vape now!! :vapor:

Mine came about from 40 minutes of seeing "user name not available" I got frustrated and put my first name and the state I'm in and thought if this one was taken I give up lol. Have yet to see PurpleVaper :glare:

LOL...exactly this. All my usual plays on emily (Typed capital e's aren't pretty) were taken, and I wasn't feeling particularly creative or willing to use my last name.
Side note, I don't actually live in Portland. But most people have no idea where Lake Oswego is, so unless you're from Portland metro, I claim Portland as home.
