Speaking of old. My first car had one of these.

I still have a nice box full of 8-tracks (and no player). I have an awesome collection of KISS, Willy Nelson, The Cars, ZZ Top, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones

PG tips is just fine in a pinch but it can be had here. Typhoo is another one of my favorites. I have the digestives out and the kettle on the boil. I'm going to spread a little bit of Vela Cheese "Bear Flag" brand butter ( made just north of here in Sonoma CA and simply the best!) on them and have myself my own little tea party.
Megan and Big John - this sounds WONDERFUL to a little hillbilly girl like me!
Me and my "kin" drink our tea Southern Sweet Tea style - lots of sugar, maybe a little lemon if you want to get fancy, LOL. There's no digestives or Vela Cheese involved - we go for buttered cornbread or a cobbler or perhaps pecan pie. We need to have a Nicoticket meet up and compare teas sometime!

Oh I would love that! We could have a nice tea and compare all of our goodies and teas. I have great teapots being a potter and all  And HUGE mugs...I can put a full pot in one then milk tops it off. Gave up sugar along with my black tea as too much caffein is bad for me now...but still so yummy!!! Oh and we'll need some clotted cream and scones! I had a student originally from Yorkshire who made awesome scones and brought extra for me and clotted cream. I think I gained 20 pounds just from that!

Yep! Bags! I am a traditionalist and when ever anyone comes to visit from the auld sod, they know to bring me two things. Bewley's or Lyons tea and Jammie Dodgers and or Digestives.( tea and bickies) When my MIL comes, the order is double! When I go there , I always make sure there is a little extra room in the suitcase. Its just too bad that the sausages wont make it through customs. That's it, time to go make a wee sop of tea!

Enabled again!

Carter Baby - on the very cusp of the whole Generation X/Millennial divide. Too young to be apathetic, too old to be optimistic. I can remember life before computers and mobile phones, but I graduated high school in 1995 right when windows 95 became widely available... so I had the benefit of having a PC in college and am more than competent. It seems like the folks 5 years older than me are significantly less saavy when it comes to technology (as a group), and the folks 5 years younger can't fathom life without technology... so, I guess I am "lucky" - competent enough to use it, but more than capable of functioning with out it. LMAO

Very true. Though I was raised by an engineer who was working on computers in 1974 when a 32k computer took up a full floor of an office building and it was programmed with punch cards. We always had the latest and best at home for everything but Apples, dad hated Macs. I didn't quite get the computer fun since running around outside was always better. So we are kind of on a similar theme here.

Man, I loved those punch card machines....

I am a big fan of late-model cars and ladies. LMAO

Oh... my...

Clark, I had a degree in Computer Science and working in a computer room before you graduated high school.

Megan, I remember being excited to move from punch cards to reels. We would have tons of output from a simple computer job. One hundred pounds of printed output just to come to the conclusion "Program Failure"

Wait! What forum am I on???

No suffering here! We have a couple of great Irish food stores here in San Francisco but, none have Doherty's sausages from Donegal. Rashers and pudding in the freezer.....;)

Thanks for the pro-tip. LMAO

If I have any gray, it's because I have a daughter who is 12 going on 30.

You too?? It's bad enough that she has been taller than me since she was 10 (she's 5'9!!), but she really thinks she is an adult. I can't even imagine what she has in store for me during her teen years!!! I think I'm in for it!!
