Egos are definitely great starters but with the several mods I have accumulated during the last three months, egos, zmax, billet box, MVP, k100....for the money and availability the MVP itaste is pretty awesome and super user friendly. For someone starting out I would not hesitate to recommend it. Very easy menu for VV and hits like a champ not to mention battery life and comes with a tank....all for under $60.00. I would also recommend maybe an ego as a back up. From there they can test the waters with other mods.

I have to say the best Ecig is the one that works the best for you, size, shape, looks, features, its all up to the user, one might like X while others say their nothing but problems. If your not smoking cancer sticks, then whatever you have that keeps you off them is the best, and of course as people grow with more knowledge and want the cooler stuff, things change and the industry grows. But always remember that you get what you pay for, cheaper isn't always better, but thats just my opinion.......

The best ecig to start on for me would have been an ego twist or spinner or whatever, but I started on v2, which I got on a groupon, so it wasn't as ridiculously overpriced as it usually is, then moved on to a V4L VV small and XL, which were fine, but I think I was just hopelessly hanging on to the 808 adapter, then I moved on to a VAMO I got cheap from china and have been quite happy ever since.... though that hasn't stopped me from spending on more mods (have an empire clone on the way).
