I have a strong feeling i might win this...

here it goes...i changed a new atomiser and used it with my old batteries. Somehow, the new atomiser does not seem to detect the batteries well enough or it could be the other way round. What happened is that sometimes when i inhale, the batteries do not light up and naturally, no power to heat the atomiser. This probably happens 2-3 times in every 10 puffs. When i change atomisers and new batteries, no problems.

I was rather fed up and with my very limited technical knowledge, i diagnosed the problem as the battery and the atomiser not touching each other well enough.

I had the same problem with a TV remote control where i dropped it and the battery compartment became loose and batteries could not touch the respective ends of the compartment. I stuffed in some aluminium foil into the remote control battery compartment to make the batteries touch each other and each end of the compartment. This worked for the remote control and i thought i would try it with the e-cig.

I placed a small aluminium foil into the atomiser and pricked a hole to allow airflow. I then screwed the battery in hoping that this will make them touch each other much better and solve my problem. How wrong I was! The first puff heated up the battery and i inhaled smoke that had leaking battery smell. I had never felt a battery so hot. It was as hot as an atomiser when being abused. I was scared. I took the battery out and it smelled awful. The atomiser still worked but it smelled bad. This was a new atomiser and i had no choice but to wash it with hot water.

Conclusion:
I killed a battery. Made my brand new atomiser smell bad. Had to wash the atomiser and it affected its performance. Now, it performs like it is 2 weeks old. And i STILL don't know what happened!!!!!!!

I think you shorted out your battery with that foil! Lithium batteries sometimes like to heat up and burst into flames when shorted! As both the positive and negative terminals to the atomiser are right there on the end of the battery, its easily done if you leave something metallic in your pocket with the battery!

A few years back, I had the lasik surgery on my eyes and ever since, I put eye drops in my eyes every morning....first thing, like clockwork. The bottle sits right next to my computer.

The day after I got my ecig, I went to put in my eyedrops as usual. It was still dark out but I've done it so many times that I could do it with my eyes closed (so to speak :D). I picked up the bottle, tilted my head back, squeezed, but nothing came out. I thought "Geez, this bottle is awful hard to squeeze" and then I looked at it. Yep....I had the bottle of nic juice. I really shudder to think what might have happened had a drop escaped. God was watching me that day!

Dumb, dumb, dumb

Wow, I've always wondered what would happen if someone mistook a bottle of e-liquid for a bottle of eye-drops. We almost found out, but it's probably a good thing that we didn't x)

I haven't really done anything dumb with mine yet.. But that will probably change soon.

I started cleaning my equipment (no, not THAT equipment) with pure grain alcohol. That stuff is highly flammable. I shorted a couple batteries while doing so and burned down the barn. I also set myself on fire twice. The plastic surgeon says they are making great strides in growing human skin in the lab in petri dishes. Soon they will able able to grow complete noses and ears. I'm really looking forward to that day. Anyway, I got tired of charging batteries, keeping carts filled and cleaning out atomizers. So, I just started mainlining 36mg juice instead. It's a great nic rush! The seizures are a drag but some of the hallucinations are pretty cool. However, I can't say I've done anything really dumb yet.
Excuse me, the lemons in the fridge are crying again and I have to go feed them.

Hate to be a cynical here.

I think it is pretty stupid that people vape 24 mgs nicotine. Even stupider on the people that vape 36. I know there are some studies on absorption rates and blah blah blah, but consider this.

Nicorette gum is dosed at 2 MG nicotine. On average the most available nicotine dosage from vendors is a 12. Nicorette is abosrbed in you mouth. E-juice is absorbed in your lungs! That is really risky and another thing. If you chew 2 mg nicorette it will irritate you throat a little bit. Put a drop of ejuice in your mouth and it BURNS.

I really don't feel safe vaping anymore, I have cut my nicotine dosage to 4 mgs and I just emailed a supplier and asked them if all future orders can be lowered to 2 mgs and eventually 0. I really don't believe it is safe to do 12 mgs, 18 mgs and especially 36 mgs! I care about you guys and don't want you to become the case study for electronic cigarettes because something bad happens to you. I know that a post like this is uncommon on this website because everybody who comes here talks about the benefit of e-cigs. I have been using them for a long time and they most definietely are a miracle product. However I can tell you that since I have switched from 12 to 4 mgs. I have felt better than when I switched from cigs to e cigs.

I started at 18 and am now down to 2 or 3. Definitely feel better. I think nicotine is raising my blood pressure now that I've become old and fat.

I was under the impression vaping delivers nicotine via mucous membranes of the mouth rather than the lungs like analogs.

Some folks just need higher levels of nic. I think most people will automatically cut back on their nicotine if they start to experience problems.

Now I have to work on becoming unfat and knock off the caffeine as well. :vapor:

And second place goes to Jacobs for resurrecting the oldest thread so far.
