I have a strong feeling i might win this...
here it goes...i changed a new atomiser and used it with my old batteries. Somehow, the new atomiser does not seem to detect the batteries well enough or it could be the other way round. What happened is that sometimes when i inhale, the batteries do not light up and naturally, no power to heat the atomiser. This probably happens 2-3 times in every 10 puffs. When i change atomisers and new batteries, no problems.
I was rather fed up and with my very limited technical knowledge, i diagnosed the problem as the battery and the atomiser not touching each other well enough.
I had the same problem with a TV remote control where i dropped it and the battery compartment became loose and batteries could not touch the respective ends of the compartment. I stuffed in some aluminium foil into the remote control battery compartment to make the batteries touch each other and each end of the compartment. This worked for the remote control and i thought i would try it with the e-cig.
I placed a small aluminium foil into the atomiser and pricked a hole to allow airflow. I then screwed the battery in hoping that this will make them touch each other much better and solve my problem. How wrong I was! The first puff heated up the battery and i inhaled smoke that had leaking battery smell. I had never felt a battery so hot. It was as hot as an atomiser when being abused. I was scared. I took the battery out and it smelled awful. The atomiser still worked but it smelled bad. This was a new atomiser and i had no choice but to wash it with hot water.
Conclusion:
I killed a battery. Made my brand new atomiser smell bad. Had to wash the atomiser and it affected its performance. Now, it performs like it is 2 weeks old. And i STILL don't know what happened!!!!!!!
