Nope, I havn't tried the Onyx, too spendy for me. when I want the sterk I'm staying with the N&J Black. My main thought about the 01 is the comments that it is a mild flavor. Thought it might be a good candidate for custom flavoring.

getsnus has a sampler ("black on black") of General Onyx and Grovsnus Black. Ends up a little under $3 a can.

So initial impressions:

• Urge to smoke went away almost immediately.
• Does not solve issues with "triggers".
• No idea how to tell when it's "done" (left first one in for 2.5 hours).
• Had an almost immediate (~20 minutes) and violent bowel reaction, but I'm unsure if this is related to the snus or not.
• juice production wasn't too bad at first (lower right side of mouth).
• Significantly more juice when talking.

All in all I think this will be a good addition in the ever increasing battle against cigarettes, but will take some time to master. I'm gonna put in another order tonight or tomorrow and include some of the mint flavors, see how I like those.

Next on the docket to test is the General Mini White.

Tasty snus. 8mg original portion. About halfway between Ettan and General. Straight tobacco, low salt, slight hint of pepper. And the tobacco is really a clean, robust taste. Like it.

I got this order from a new, to me, vendor Clubsnus.com. Run by Jonathon out of San Francisco, his prices beat most of those at getsnus and shipping is comparable. This is my second order from him, both had loads of the 2 portion General sample packets included as freebies.

His selection is somewhat limited, but he says it will be expanding soon, opening a new, revamped site later this month.

My first order was for 10 cans of General Wintergreen. They were past the "best by" date, I paid a buck a can and they taste just fine to me. And got the SM calendar!

Jonathon saw a post of mine on the snuson forum complaining about the Mocca Macchiato no longer being sold. He had 1 can left in stock and sent it to me in this order today. NO CHARGE!

Ya'll want to check him out. He'll get more business from me!

Use the snus in the upper lip, not in the lower. this will reduce the drip tremendously!

I had a similar gut reaction on my first snus. My first was a General Ekstra Sterk... not a good choice for first time outta the gate. 15mg and heavy salt had me sweating fast!

With the Onyx at 11mg and the grovsnus Black at 12mg that might have been a bit much for ya?

Happy to hear that drgnfang. Amazing how the snus is able to trample a craving. I normally leave a 02 portion in for 90 minutes or so, sometimes over 2 hours, though. Until it starts to get a little bitter I figure it's still got some nic to give up. Congratulations on the bowel reaction. I went for over 3 months not being able to poo without a handful of prunes, just because I wasn't smoking cigarettes. The snus cured that, too. Glad to see you take to the snus, it's even helped OTD fain sanity .

General Mini Mint
Wow is this sweet! Well, as I've just finished dinner I s'pose this will serve well as an, after dinner mint..

This evening I've had my first General Mini Mint and Thunder Frosted Mini.

Between the two I'd have to say the Thunder would be the one for repeat orders for me. I'll use up the General but I'm thinking they are too sweet to use on a regular basis.

Dholakia Orange/Chocolate for dessert
And calling it a day with Toque Menthol

All that accompanied with 18mg Menthol(and a Placebo 0 nic menthol just for kicks!)
