Good morning. I'm not sure why but I've not been waking up as early and its been a bit of a struggle to get up for work lately. I normally would have been up an hour or more already but just woke up a little bit ago. Even on weekends I don't usually sleep in. Oh well, I guess my body must need some extra rest right now.

Helen, is that chair fitting you ok? If TV shows up then you might have to scooter over a little. It's time for me to get the morning nic supply flowing but I'll be back later.

Just got off the phone with my mother. Thank God the new medication is finally taking hold (and also ending her other problem with a catheter the same day as the med. change seems to help end some of her anxiety too). She is way less anxious and agitated and she said she slept good last night. She hadn't slept for 3 nights and was tearing off her clothes every night and rolling out of the bed (which was lowered to the floor because she'd try to get up and walk at night) and crab crawling across the floor!. Arghhhhh!

Dementia (probably Lewy Body due to her Parkinson's Disease) on top of a badly broken hip is the sh**z. This is the 2nd time she has broken the hip and had surgery in just a few months. The 2nd time she broke the top of the femur bone in 4 chunks and assorted pieces and ruined the first hip replacement. Each surgery (and narcotics that should have never been given to her because of Parkinsons) brought out the Lewy Body/Dementia/Delusions to a nightmare level. Then they'd just release her from the hospital or skilled nursing center! Crazy. Now she's in a private group home and I have Hospice involved in her care and they're actually listening to me about her drugs and what I think will work for her (so far, so good!).

I'll finally go see her tomorrow (haven't seen her since the day after we moved her into the group home because she was set off by having family around). You wouldn't believe some of the phone calls and conversations I've had with her in the last couple of weeks. Whew!

Ouch. I hope I never have to experience that. My mother had both hip sockets replaced years ago. Old age sucks.

Hey gang. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I've managed to no do much of anything other than tending to a few odds and ends around the house. I guess I'm a hermit at heart, as once I get home from Friday happy hour, the less time I can spend away from the house, the happier I am!

just sitting here. its sunday afternoon and we have moved into my wifes parents house. its definately an adjustment , but the wife is sleeping (works midnights) , and her parents have taken our son to his mamaw's to go swimming. worried a little bit cause her parents are not the most ... aware people , but they raised two kids of their own and havent messed up my brother in law's two kids...so....

Allco, that sounds like a fine weekend to me. I am a bit of a homebody myself. I did a short bit of side work yesterday and just got back from taking the kids shopping for some school stuff. School starts tomorrow. I thought it would be nice if I took them and gave my wife a bit of time to herself. She usually takes them to do all of that stuff.

hova, sorry you had to move in with the inlaws. Hopefully you will heal well and get back on your feet soon.

well , its not so bad. even for the father in law being a pastor , and all , they have done nothing but treated me well. i just worry that they are scatter brained , and if something was to happen to my kid , i wouldnt bear it well...

that being said , they are not charging us rent or utilities , they only request that my wife get out of doing midnight home-care , and that i get better. the other one is that we save money so when im better we can get a house.

needless to say , if you know anyone in ohio that needs a car worked on , im your man. ..as long as its not something i actually have to walk around to do...lol..

Good morning. Hova, it sounds like the situation is not too bad then. It sounds like they just want the two of you to do well for yourselves.

Our kids start school today. My wife seemed to be awful cheery about that this morning. I think she might have gotten a little burnt out with them over the summer and is most likely looking forward to some time by herself. Not much else going on here today so far. Just another beautiful Monday at work.

I think that's kinda how the wife felt about them going back. Our kids really don't mind going back. The 13 year old actually likes school and the 9 year old is starting to like it more. She actually told me yesterday that she was excited to go. She got a good teacher that the older one had before so that's a plus. She has had some attention problems in the past but I am hoping that is better this year. For a little while we thought that she might have ADD and were considering taking to her to a doctor but it seems more like it was a phase and I think she is coming out of it now.

I found out this morning that our boss had to let an employee go on Friday. Everyone saw it coming but it still makes me cringe a little bit with the job market and economy being what it is.

'evening all. Another day at the salt mines. Came home and immediately fell asleep on the couch. The dogs weren't happy to miss their usual afternoon fetch session, but I was dead tired for Somme reason. I'm not sure hova's giant coffee mug would even have helped. It's going to be an early night tonight.

I thought I'd take a nap when I got home in the PM, but my GF had other ideas. Couldn't balance her finances if her life depended on it, so that was my first task. Then I decided to get on the net and she saw the snake that has taken up residence in my pond.

Darn, I'd like to do the live and let live thing, but..... Number of fish seems to be decreasing, I'm not seeing the frogs and I'm worried about the turtles. I though I might be able to net it and deliver it down at the creek about a mile from here, but so far, the minute I get close he's disappeared.

Good Morning all. A fairly quiet day in Ms. Mayhem's house (well, it's early still). LOL

Getting hubby ready for a biz trip (to Vegas, wish I was going!). Will have a very quiet couple of days until he gets back on Thursday evening. This means I can have cereal for dinner and not have the TV flopping around every time a commercial comes on in the evening (gotta send him to Remote Control Enders for his addiction). Ahhh Heaven! Heheheheeee
