I got a provari v2 1.5 years ago, when i stepped up from ego-c batts
It's never ever failed me
I bought a SS Vamo for some $45, worse device I have ever gotten
Nowadays I mostly use Mech mods, but as I have been learning and playing with micro-
coils my provari has been seeing some renewed loved lately.
After the VAMO, the provari is the device I use the least (the vamo is pretty much just an ohm reader for me)
I feel I wasted $45 on the VAMO, have never regretted buying the Provari
Why? well, the deal breaker is that the vamo uses what, for my use, is a very bad / weak pulse-width-modulation signal, it does not give you a constant power output but a sig-saw one
This makes it worthless for RBAs / low ohms / micro-
coils, at least after using the same device on top of a provari where the signal is completely flat
also, at least using 18650 batteries (all I use) the power goes down as the battery drains. try it, put your vamo at 15W on a fresh battery, measure the volts, use it one or two hours, measure again, by the time the battery is at 3.7 or 3.6 volts the power output is VERY weak
the provari will give you the voltage you set it at until it dies
another negative, the FREAKING SIZE
As for price, well, chinese labour and QC ain't american labour and QC (and I am not american nor I live in the USA)
finally, customer service, call / email provape, they will take care of you, FAST
Who are you going to call if your vamo fails? it's more of a disposable device (the seller? good luck after 30 days, at best)
Again, I'm not a fanboy of the provari, I much more enjoy my mechs these days (MKB-TS,
smok Natural, K100, etc), but when it comes to regulated power the provari is the best I have tried (have never used a Darwin ~wonky looking, $240~, Buzz Pro etc)
