I'm glad you will not be a fanboi. I bristle every time a nimrod insinuates that a product, any product, is the best thing on the market for every person; especially, when the OP didn't ask for the information and it may be beyond their budget and comfort level. To suggest to a new vaper that unless they buy XXX they will be throwing their money away, since they won't have a good vaping experience and may start smoking again, borderlines on cruel. People often forget how stressful it is to quit smoking and most new vapers have tried numerous times without success. Vaping may be the last option for them and they are understandably afraid it won't work. They may also be hesitant to spend a lot of money for something they don't have confidence in.

I quit smoking using a 650mAh standard eGo kit. I didn't even get a Twist for several months. If all of my cool toys were taken away and I only had the 650s left, that is still enough to keep me from smoking.

In some ways I was lucky not to have found ECF right away, since I would have been barraged with information I didn't understand. It's true not all new members are new to vaping, and even some that are have been reading the threads for awhile and are tech savvy. Great! They can use more advanced suggestions, but for others we need to listen to what they feel most comfortable with and will use, even if it's a cig-a-like. Having cig-a-likes or eGos in your arsenal is good for back-up - I still use mine in certain situations. If you notice, the majority of people who piss and moan about how much money they wasted before getting XXX are the ones who have bought mod after mod after mod, not the people who have gone from a Twist/Spinner to a better set-up. I would much rather have someone vaping while reading the threads and deciding what they want to get next, than be so overwhelmed they get even more stressed and not even start.

You made a great point here! My tastes do change, and I don't want to spend a small fortune every time that happens! I don't want to spend a crapload of money on one thing and feel chained to it just because of the money I spent on it. Me and my little raccoon paws are very happily vaping on a Smoktech pipe right now :vapor:
I would love to own a Coach purse, but I am happier with my funky plastic pink glitter Betsey Johnson recreation vehicle on straps! I even have a vape pocket in it! And if I get tired of it, oh well, it didn't cost much.

Ok.. Here you go. I really did order one cause I wanted to see for myself because Ive been happy with my current Mod. Heres my thoughts

I just received in the mail, one Provari 2.5 Mini, One Tatroe Base, two Tatroe ext rings, Two AW 18500's and a Kanger Protank 2 (which is going in the drawer since Batitude turned me on to IBTanked and Ikenvape cartos)

My current "go to" mod is an SVD. (I have others, egos out the wazoo, MVP, Vamo, Spinners/twisters etc, Segeili mech)

My first impression of the Provari Ive been vaping on for two hours:

Its lighter than the SVD to my suprise (until I add the tatroe extension and expecially the base) (thats good) (base is not needed and shouldnt compare)

Its a tad shorter than the SVD, about an inch (thats good)

Its a higher grade of fit and finish as far as how the display is built inside the unit and is flush, SVD is screwed to the outside. The display is a better grade/pixel screen, the fire button is not a mechanical and I can tell. (This is good)

Does it vape better ? I cant tell yet, at this time I will say NO. I will keep you informed if I change my mind as I try Atomizers, and other delivery Tank ( I know, Its an 800MHZ processor VS China 33Mhz)

Is it more heavy duty as far as dropping and vibration, falls ? I would really have to say NO. The SVD is a built like a tank also. (opinion based on dropping SVD many times and riding in an open metal cup holder on Harley bouncing/vibrating on edge of metal holder for extended periods of time.

Do I think I will have any problems with the buttons ? Purely opinion, but I think the SVD mechanical buttons will go bad before the Provari goes bad. Its just the difference in the way they are built. Time will tell.

Does the SVD do more? Yes. The biggest thing the SVD has over the Provari is being able to read your OHMs and the teloscoping feature is a big plus (to me) just convenient.

Batteries..They should make it to use Flat top batteries. Big plus for SVD.

VV/VW... I mean.... really .... who cares. Use one or the other. If measurements were in a new form called Galutzaks, I would figure out how many Galutzaks I need to vape my 3 ohm or 1.5 Ohm coils.

BLIND TASTE TEST

I just let three different vapers that dont know what a Provari is and that DO NOT read the forum look at and vape the Provari, switched the Tank over to the SVD and back (twice each) and asked for opinions. All three thought they vaped the same, no difference. Two liked the look of the Provari better, one liked the look of the SVD better. (all three women if that mattered) The youngest , 21, liked the look of the SVD better, the other two that like the look of the provari are 30 and 53.

When unpacking, My first thought was: This Provari is a bit over priced but is nice and well made. I didnt like that I had to spend 30.00 more dollars to make it fit all three batteries ( these extensions should be included IMHO )....smart marketing, I know, I didnt spend an extra 15.00 for a blue LED. This still chaps my ... because they certainly dont pay an more for the screen color. The extensions and Color LED reminds me of crooked or high end car dealers charging extra for floor mats.

A bit of a personal gripe: They sent no Email saying thanks for the order or letting me know the order went through. After two days and no email, I finally went to the site and signed in just to make sure they got the order and it went through. It was shipped on the 5th day of ordering and I finally got an email yesterday letting me know they shiped my order. Even fasttech is promp on emails letting you know your order went through as does any other place I order from. OK, Gripe over.

So......bottom line. At this time, will I push people to get a Provari because its the best thing there is ? NO
Will I get on to people for telling noobs it is? YES
Is it the best made mode Ive used ? Yes
Will I send it back? NO
Will I use it instead the SVD? Yes
Which is a better value? The SVD
Which will I recomend to friends with no money concerns? Provari and some Egos
Would I buy another? I dont know, will get back to you on that.

Ive been as honest as I can be here. Sorry If I rambled too long, just trying to be thourough and really did want to give you my "out of the box" thoughts. Im not rich or anything but I am the guy that has spent over 12K in Chrome on my bike and it has done absolutely nothing for the performance nor has it made it any better. I just like it, so, 150 to 200 on a mod is just nothing to me.

Some one earlier said if both of these mods were 100 bucks each, which would you take ? It would be the Provari for me.

Oh boy! These sound an awful lot like my first Provari posts. The Provari grows on you Mr. Bond. It does have an Ohm meter by the way, and since you're using carto tanks now, there's nothing better, imho. When I got my Provari, I was using a lot of clearos, loved the EVOD, Protank was a bit too airy (I got used to it, then discovered an AFC), and I used a lot of different toppers, different juices, etc. and variable wattage was super important. I use a carto tank all day long and rarely adjust anything anymore. Hits perfectly right up to the last drop. Not afraid of killing it on a trip outa the house either. Well, I've come a long way. Not a fan boy, but not far off either. It's now my usual ADV. No muss, no fuss. Give it time, Mr. Bond. Vaping is an evolutionary process. Your post was so reminiscent of my first after-purchase Provari post, that I just had to laugh, and give you my two cents!

As soon As I get a good ohm checker my mini is going bye bye. It might have 2 or 3 hours on it.

I run a licensed ProVari disposal company and will take care of it for you! We are so dedicated to our mission of making sure these inferior devices don't fall into the hands of unsuspecting new vapers that we pay postage.

We also save whales and support our troops. God bless.
