@HBcorpse Thank you SO MUCH for posting the MC issue! And the petition as well.
I signed and left this comment;
This is yet another example of the FDA's attempts to destroy an industry that is saving lives and the credit card companies are colluding with them to drive people back to traditional tobacco products, thus condemning them to a litany of tobacco related illnesses and death. UNCONCIONABLE!

This is exactly the kind of thing this thread is for and I sincerely appreciate your participation. I encourage everyone to sign the petition as well. Hopefully we can save some of our younger brother's and sister's lives (and save our suppliers a few $$$ in the process). ;) :) I also encourage everyone to post similar issues here so we can all unite and fight the good fight together.

I've seen Sen. Ron Johnson on TV a lot lately but not because of his investigation into the D.D. I suspect his plate is full with "The Russian Hack", ISIS, Syria and the like. [Interesting that the FDA dropped that bomb just prior to a national election, huh? Timing is everything.] I'll be forwarding HB's link to him, just to remind him we've got some pretty serious life threatening and social terrorism issues right here at home.

In other news, I haven't been watching much local NBC over the holidays but last night we did catch the new "Celebrity Apprentice" and "The Wall" and guess what, no anti vaping/"save the children" commercials! I just submitted this month's article, "Half Truths and Innuendo" and will post the link after the 15th. of the month.

A resounding  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! to ALL!

Hi All!

I hope your New Year is off to a great start!

The battle rages on "up here". Here's a "Press Release" from the local ANTZ:
http://www.makeasceneak.com/midjanu...-e-cigarette-use-poses-a-public-health-threat

And, ironically my article from the same issue:
http://www.makeasceneak.com/midjanuary-2017/2017/1/15/half-truths-and-innuendo

It's getting a little spooky that I seem to be foreseeing the articles and ads "they" are going to run! I honestly have NO insight into any of this information but it keeps happening and I see by the cover photo of the paper on the home page of The People's Paper that they are continuing to run the "Myth vs. Fact" ad format. I'm already in the process of composing next month's article, "Perception, Prejudice and Persecution". It will primarily focus on not only the demonization of vaping but the way the anti SMOKING crowd is being used to further the anti vaping cause. It will also address the ad from the previous issue in regard to second hand smoke affecting over 12,000 Alaskan children. Not from the SHS argument itself, we already covered that in a previous article (Refuting the Irrefutable) but from the fact that vaping is the cure for SHS. The solution already exists but rather than embracing it, they are desperately trying to maintain the status quo and ban anything they perceive to be "smoke".

I've found the President Elect's comments on "Big Pharma having far too many lobbyists and influence" and the need to "reign them in" a hopeful sign. I've also noticed in the Cabinet Hearing process that Congress, through their mutual fund programs, is heavily invested in Big Tobacco! It was hilarious when Al Franken tried to nail Sen. Sessions on his holdings in P.M. and then another Sen. noted that Franken holds stock in P.M. too, thanks to the same mutual fund! Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

That's all for now, I need to get writing! Thanks again for all of your support. As always, please post your local issues here too. If we all work together we might just turn this tide. I do have to add that I saw in another thread, "I'm done writing letters and making calls. It's just a waste of time." and many of the comments that followed echoed the same sentiment. IMHO, that's a defeatist attitude and does no good. The reason the liberals lost this election is because the "forgotten man & woman" finally took a stand against having rules and regulations being crammed down our throats, being told not how to think but what to think. If we don't all keep pushing back, the ANTZ will win and vaping will be decimated. Why do you think "they" are continually bashing vaping, obviously to influence the general public WHAT to think. Keep up the good fight! Give the millions of smokers the real truth, the whole truth and allow them the opportunity to think for themselves. I personally believe it's our responsibility. Not only to save our "solution" but to share it with our brothers and sisters. (okay, soap box stepped off of  )

Have run into the same defeatist attitude regarding petition....

Like calls and letters, do petitions work? Sometimes.

Does doing nothing work? Never.

Nice to see ya Von! Keep up the good fight, your articles and rebuttals are fantastic.

I'm still writing - new representatives need to know what we are fighting for and why. Sometimes it seems in vain, but as David said, doing nothing will, well, do nothing.

Hi all!

It turns out that I may be at the end of my run at The People's Paper. Last month's article went direct to the on line blog. After calling the editor and being assured it would run in print this month, I don't see it in the on line "read the current issue" on the home site. Hmmmmm? I did however see that Ms. Crowly Bell's article (Ya, she's back!) in regard to the Surgeon General's Press Release was published (at least on line). I'll have to pick up a hard copy to see what's really in print. If it's not there, I'll have to call the editor AGAIN and see if "they've" gotten to him or what. It will be tragic if true!

A summary of the Bell article would be, "Microscopic particles inhaled deeply into the lungs, Heavy Metals such as lead, diacytil linked to severe lung disease and, of course, highly addictive and extremely poisonous NICOTINE, not only for the user but the second hand AEROSOL to bystanders!" (Gotta love that word, AEROSOL! It's just so much scarier than vapor.)

I can't express how devastated I am by the relentless push of the bureaucratic machine, spreading these fear mongering lies. Few in government will listen and even fewer have any control over it anyway. There is also the "Bigger Fish To Fry" argument and by the time those who could do something get to our cause, it will be too late not only for the industry but for tens of thousands of smokers that could have been saved. I'm also very disappointed that in the seven months I've been doing this, not another single vaper, locally, has taken the time to write a single word of advocacy or support for my efforts. I didn't realize that there was such a thing as less than thankless! Thankfully, I still have the support of my ECF family.

C'MON PEOPLE!!!

We just have to keep at it, VV, in spite of the odds. Yeah, it does get discouraging... and as you say, the benefit of the harm reduction may be taken away from many who could benefit from vaping but who haven't made the switch - or, worse, who just found vaping and haven't had time to prepare... since they could see benefits in a short time vaping, only to have it taken away...

And in the meantime, PMI is rolling out their "heated tobacco" system and will, no doubt, have the resources both in $$ and in paid off politicians to get it approved...

Ahhhhhhgh!!! If we could just get the RCP report, ABL, Sen. Johnson, A.G. Miller, Provari's demise and ECF member's personal experiences in front of the prez, I honestly believe that he would say, WTH??? I am COMPLETELY stymied as to why NO press will cover the pro side of vaping. Not even FOX! As I said, yes, there are "bigger fish to fry" but are there really? Millions of American lives, American jobs, entrepreneurism and American industry all falling by the way side because of the anti tobacco/anti smoking crowd's perception and prejudice. The FDA and HHS' have very effectively tapped into this and exploited it. To hell with the truth, just paint vaping as high tech smoking and it's all about hating AGAIN!

It is tragic that the sheepeople are so easily distracted. Is it possible that one could hold a computer more powerful than the Apollo missions in their hands, surf the web, email, text, snap chat and tweet? NO FREAKIN' WAY! But develop a means to enjoy nicotine without harm to ANYONE and it's the devil come to Earth! That was the whole "tobacco harm reduction" principal, wasn't it??? I'm sorry if you have a personal problem with perception and prejudice. GET OVER IT!!! And quit encouraging "Other youth influencers" to indoctrinate your ideology and politics on our children!!! That's a responsible parent's job!!!

Oh my, have I ever fallen behind! Life you know...................

I'm still kickin', just barely. The good news is that the "Half Truths" article did get printed in the mid Feb. - mid March edition and the most recent article, "Perception, Prejudice and Persecution got printed in the March - April issue. It can be seen here: http: //www.makeasceneak.com/midmarch-2017/2017/2/27/t8u8en1ae75th9jfto12j32s0lpptj
It's nice to see that the graphs made it into the on line edition, something that didn't happen in print and (I feel) would have helped drive the points home. I also requested that they remove my typo on (CO2) as that is the symbol for carbon DI oxide, not Monoxide but they seem to have missed that altogether. At least it got printed in both formats and that's a win in my book.

My latest submission is titled "Shhhhhh" and is based on the two most recent articles brought to my attention by our very own Les Leung, @Lessifer . His tireless efforts through ChangedotOrg are to be applauded. Consider this my personal standing "O", Les!!! Those U of B articles provided some excellent fodder, blasting holes in the local health org's claims and hopefully shamed them at least a bit.

Now on to a bit of confusion on my part. On 3/14 I got an email from Regulatory Watch in regard to Sen. Ron Johnson and Rep. Duncan Hunter's new "Repeal and Replace" bill of the FDA Deeming Regulations.
( Link: Trump Card | FDA Deeming Regs On Chopping Block | RegulatorWatch.com ) Needless to say I was thrilled to hear this news and contacted both Sen. Johnson and Rep. Hunter immediately to thank and encourage them. Then on March 26th. I received an invitation to participate in the EVC phone conference regarding that Repeal and Replace bill. I was out of town enjoying my one and only snowmobiling outing this season and didn't get back until Tuesday so I missed that. Then, yesterday I got an email from CASAA encouraging me to support the new Cole Bishop amendment, which of course I did! Then I saw it again here when I signed in today. My confusion is; What the heck is going on? I "thought" that the EVC was created to join all of the different vaping advocacy groups together so that we could all "row in the same direction". I also get it that one doesn't want to put all of their eggs in one basket, so to speak and I suspect I have answered my own question with this catch phrase but just to be absolutely clear, would someone please confirm this. Personally, I feel that a UNIFIED approach is best but that's just MHO. Nothing wrong with using more than one approach. However, it does send a bit of a mixed message when different approaches are coming from different organizations, as if one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. It all comes back to my "battle cry"...............

P.S. - Consistently calling the ANTZ out does seem to be working, at least here. The TV commercials are GONE, the print ads are getting tamer and tamer and the surreptitious "concerned citizen" (health org employees) articles are disappearing. I'll be back to post a link to "Shhhhhh" mid month. My best to all. Keep up the good fight!

I would like to thank you for providing fact based information and taking the time to frame it in such a fashion that it can be easily understood. You are a rare example of clear concise thought in this ever regressing country of ours.
