What's your plan with vaping?

I'm pretty new to vaping and I'm happy to see a thriving community online! Hello from Florida!

I smoked for 16 years and at the turn of the year, I decided I was going to quit, no matter what it took. I had tried nicorette gum, cold turkey, and chantex, but nothing seemed to work till I found e-cigs. Now cigarettes taste like ashes in my mouth in comparison. Why would I want burning tar when I can vape on fruit and chocolate? I still smoke a cigarette from time to time, especially when I'm around friends I used to smoke with ritually, but it's gotten easier and easier not to smoke any cigarettes at all.

I have to say though, I'm probably more addicted to nicotine than I've ever been, since it's so easy to chain vape, but I feel pretty confident that I'll be able to stairstep down and quit this habit within time.

My question to you is, what is your plan with vaping? Are you going to continue indefinitely? Are you using it as an in-between to quit smoking/vaping altogether?

i dont have any plans on quitting i did lower my nic intake a tiny bit since starting to vape but mostly because i wanted to be able to vape more without getting over Nic'd, now should it happen that some day they can find some valid health risks with it then i will consider quitting but as it stands now its no worst then drinking coffee and i defiantly wont be quitting that any time soon:)

Funny you ask this question.....was telling my wife this morning that if I had to quit vaping and started smoking analogs again I would miss vaping more than I did smoking analogs. This may be due to (as the OP mentioned) your able to chain vape all day long. I started with 24mg and now am down to 18mg.....will continue to step down until no nic at all. But I think (as Jazon mentioned) I will vape until some health risks develop! I have no plans on quitting......I enjoy it way to much!

I'd really like to just breathe air someday. I think I vape less than I smoked. I don't start until about 8:30am when I get to work. I'm up at 6 and I always had a cigarette first thing. When I go outside to have a smoke, er...vape, I only take a couple of three toots. I feel like I'm just standing around. Apparently I thought being outside smoking tobacco was doing something :p

If I go somewhere for an hour or so I leave the PV at home (well today anyway, I'm not that confident yet :) Otherwise I keep the PV fully charged and close by.

The evening when I am relaxing is when I chain vape tank after tank.

Borednl, I quit analogs 3 months ago. I smoked them all my life. I have acquaintances (all non-smokers) who ask me how long I think I'll "need" to vape. Simple answer? I neither know nor care. Each day, one day at a time, finds me walking a cleaner, better road than the one I spent my life on. Should one day I find that I forget to vape, fine. Should someday paramedics pry my aged, mangled body out of a vehicle, priest standing by and I whisper, "Please! The ProVari with the Mountain Dew"... that's fine, too. We take it one day at a time and if we're lucky, there will be those that celebrate with us.

Welcome to ECF, Boredni and congrats to you for having made the switch.

Initially, my plan was to find a way to quit smoking, which I have done with ease, since I started vaping. Now, it's a matter of slowly lower my nic level. Today, I have been vaping with 18mg in lieu of the normal 24mg. As I type this, I have the urge to take a hit of the 24mg juice, which I have at arms length. I think I will make it to bed on the 18mg. Tomorrow morning, if needed, I will start with the 24mg and drop back to 18mg and see how the day goes.

In a months time, I hope to drop down to 12mg. Ultimately, I would like to get down to 0mg. That will take some time. I am looking forward to the journey. The important thing is that I am off of the nasty analogs. Whether or not I am able to reach my goal, I plan to continue vaping for a long time to come. I enjoy vaping too much to quit.

After I quit analogs, my first ejuice was 12 mg, gave me a headache so I switched to 6 mg. So basically from the beginning I go between 0 - 6 mg. People ask why vape then? Because I get relaxation from it, the act itself... The tinkering with my mods & accessories, or just plain vaping while watching a movie/reading a book/whatever I may be doing. Until I can find something that can gives me equal amount of relaxation, I don't plan to stop. I don't drink, I'm not overweight, I quit going to Vegas all the time :p so I don't have too many vices. Of all vices, I think vaping ranks up there as one of the least destructive vices to have. Just my opinion, and I may be wrong. ^^

Vegas misses you.

After smoking for 22 years I made an initial order for e-cig supplies and hoped it would work. Having been a virtual chimney I didn't want to overdo it with the nicotine and started off as low as possible. So I suppose my only plan was to start and maintain a low strength (mostly 6 mg). The first week of vaping I found myself lighting up less and less everyday, while smoking I was thinking about how much better my juice tasted. Day 7 with an e-cig was my first day without an analog.

I don't see myself giving up vaping, at least not anytime soon. It is quite the "hobby" with lots of equipment to try not to mention all the flavors.

I have no plan. I'm ok with vaping until I die, but if I get tired of it at some point and just quit, so be it. I don't think I'll be quitting, though, or at least not any time soon. I might lower my nicotine level at some point (I vape 12mg right now), but I'm not very concerned about that, either. My only plan was to stop smoking and I did.

My plan was to stop smoking. Did that the first day starting with 18mg nic. A week ago I dropped down to 12. Who knows if I'll quit vaping or drop the nic down some more. I know I'm using less nic now than when I smoked and I'm not sucking all the other crap into my body. Like VapnWitch I'm not too concerned about it at this point unless someone can prove to me vaping is more harmfull than smoking (which I seriously don't see happening).

I smoked a couple packs a day for almost 40 years. I started vaping at 36mg and got more than I did from regular smokes. That allowed me to walk away from that habit in a day. I'm doing 24mg now and will cut down to 12 or so as soon as I need to buy more juice. Will I vape till I die? I think probably not, but it's possible. There's no pressure as it's so much cheaper than smoking and isn't hurting me, I'll just keep on stepping down the nicotine and play it by ear but I have a feeling I'll be smoke and vape less within 10 years.
