Hmmmm, tough question! My plan now is that I will quit vaping within the year. That of course is tentative!

Originally, I just wanted something to help me quit smoking analogs. vaping has accomplished that for me. Even so, when I started vaping, it was with the intent of also quitting vaping as some point. However, as I got more and more into vaping, I started investing more and more money on devices, juices, etc. For me, vaping has gotten to be very expensive indeed! At least, I haven't seen the need to get into the high-dollar-all-at-once devices like the Provari, or Z-ATTY lines. I think I'm immune to those items. However, head turner mechanical mods like the Caravela and Mankos are hard to discount totally! Then again, my brother is a machinist, so perhaps I'll hit him up with a project some day!:)

When I first started vaping back in 2009 my goal was to quit cigarettes, gone back and forth over the years, mainly due to life situations. Current goal is to eventually lower the nicotine content of the fluid to 0 and then maybe only use the PV for the flavor vise, or just give it up entirely. I still enjoy a shisha now and then (but do not crave it), and vaping kind of reminds me of the shisha experience in alot of ways.

Prior to the past New Years, I jotted down a resolution to "check out what these ecigarettes are all about..." Not much "resolve" in that, huh? I didn't actually try them until late January and then I finished up my last carton 2 months ago. I started out by just buying pre filled cartos and now I am ordering ejuices galore...so, no plans to quit vaping just yet. I have lowered my nic to 6mg and am enjoying these flavors and not smoking.

I was only a part time smoker before I tried vaping.
Usually when I'd hit stress, I'd smoke.

I had already looked up info on vaping when I was finishing my last CD (released early Dec 2012). I have a tendency to want a ciggie when I'm working on final mixes.

CD released, I cut down the smoking (I just toss a nic patch on for a few days in a row and go for more cardio and I'm usually good - not too aggro).

Well, hit the stress again (elderly mother experiencing most like undiagnosed dementia) and instead of hitting the liquor store for a pack of Dunhills, I walked the other direction to a local vape store (was in San Diego at the time) and started vaping.

Now I'm hooked on the full-on nerdgasm of balancing voltage and resistance and trying different flavours. nom nom nom

I'm doing the nic flavours, so I'm probably doing LOTS more than I did when I was 'kinda' smoking, but the other half lets me vape indoors because the flavours 'smell pleasant'. LOL

So, not planning on quitting the vape thing.
But I fear that now that I"m addicted to nic again, if I have issues again flying to different countries and find my liquids & carts pilfered by unscrupulous baggage handlers, I might pick up an analog again.

At least I'll have my vape to fall back on.

But, to answer your question, not a smoker, but lovin the vape & hope to vape as long as I can, until they outlaw it, or find something horribly, horribly wrong with it.

Wow. I'm really taken back by all the responses here. I'm glad to be a part of such a community. Thank you all for your responses!

Your response hit me the most though KickAshKen. I'm glad to see you off of cigarettes. Keep up the good work! You'll have to let us know how you're doing as time goes on. :)
My plan was to quit smoking. I did:toast:! I started smoking at the age of 9. One pack every two weeks. By 12, I was up to PAD. For many years, I was 3 PAD, until I had my first heart attack at 26:shock:. Then I cut down to PAD and stayed there, (except when I drank, or got over stressed). At 43, I had over a dozen heart attacks, in one year. I was in the hospital having stints put in, with 3 nicotine patches on, and still sneaked out for a smoke:evil:. Often I would have to take a nitro tablet when I lit up. :danger:My cardiologist informed me that nicotine constricts the blood vessels. I hated my morning ritual. Every day, I would cough, hack, and spit repeatedly for about an hour, with a couple of nose blows, and a couple of cigarettes in between. I had an aunt, and a step-mother, who smoked 3-5 PAD. Both died of lung cancer. Like them, I knew smoking was killing me, but I could not stop:smokie:. I tried everything. Or so I thought. My sister got a cheap gas station analog look alike, and let me try it. I was underwhelmed. A friend with a similar nicotine addiction, also tried them. He couldn't get through an 8 hr. day at work, with only a few cigarette breaks. He got an ego kit to use at work, all day. He assured me that it was better. I went to a local B&M store, where I was allowed to sit in a comfortable environment, and try out different flavors, for over an hour:vapor:. I bought my last pack of cigarettes on 1 Mar., 2013. That same day, I got an ego starter kit, with several bottles of juice, and a spare tank. The staff recommended I start with 24 mg. of nicotine. I wanted to be sure to satisfy the urge, so I got 36 mg. of nicotine. Big mistake! I came very close to taking a nitro tablet. I immediately got some 18 mg. juice to dilute my 36 mgs. down to 24. After one week, I bought 18 mgs. and 24 mgs. to get a 21 mg. mix. I may or may not lower it to 18. Right now I'm happy with 21. It's only been one month, but WOW! What a difference. I still cough, hack, and spit, once or twice in the morning, but not for an hour. I can breath! I can taste food! My B&M store is on the second floor. I run up the stairs to get my juice. Who knew I could still run.:rickroll:
Smoking was bad for my heart and lungs. One of those is no longer an issue. So what about the other? All of my heart attacks where related to one or more of the following: Over exertion, Stress, Smoking too much, (when drinking or over stressed), and/or depression. (I corrected my diet over a decade ago). The over exertion was closely tied to shortness of breath. (This included sex, the lack of which added to depression:cry:, and didn't help with the stress either:-x). The only real concern, is the amount of nicotine I use, in a short period of time. I was a chain smoker, and now I am a chain vaper. It never occurred to me before, to count the number of puffs on a cigarette. It's 20+ for a 100. I smoked more than one cigarette per hour. I vape 2 or 3 puffs every 10 or 15 min. I don't know how they compare, in the amount of nicotine consumed in a 24 hr. period. I do know I feel better every day. I quit smoking! I don't care if I never quit vaping.:vapor::headbang: I can live with that. Let me re-phrase that. With that...I can live!

No plan, just see where it goes. I also quit "by accident" just about a week ago. Started vaping a good juice and stopped smoking analogs the next day. I had no plan to quit, and I have no plans for vaping. I ended up smoking for 30 years, and I may just vape for the rest of my life--which will be a much healthier one now!

I've been vaping for about 4 months now and have I love it. I have slipped up a few times and have had an analog but I always go back to my PV. I started out with an off brand cartridge system similar to Blu ecigs, then to an e-go t, an e-go twist with a clearomizer and now an eVic with a carto/tank system. I plan to drop down from 12mg to 6mg and then eventually to 0, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm not sure when I'll stop vaping. I'm working on getting my nic content down to zero (actually planned it all out and purchased all the juices ahead of time so I should be at zero in 3 months). After that I'll see where I am. Likely I'll continue to vape but hope that it will be more of an occasional thing instead of a steady habit. However, if I never give it up... that's ok too!

I have to say though, I'm probably more addicted to nicotine than I've ever been, since it's so easy to chain vape

I totally there with you on that, I'm pretty sure I'm vaping stronger nico' than I was getting from cigarettes. Honestly, my plan was to use vaping as a step towards giving up completely but, well, I don't know now. If nicotine turns out to be safe by itself I don't see why I'd stop, and I know that finally I definitely won't go back to smoking combustables.

Im new to this vaping. I started doing it coz a friend of mine have a cool e-cig compared to my Blu ( which failed me so many times, i still got my packs ) . Then one friday he lent me his ecig...from then on i prefer to vape that to smoke.. It's only been 13 days since. And as the general consensus goes....I enjoy it way too much. I dont think ill stop. I plan on lowering my nic intakes but till then .... Im a very happy vaper. :)

I also have a lot of friends that smoke analogs, i go out with them but i prefer to use my PV while they use analogs..

Grats on vaping, 13 days and i feel the changes... goodluck !

I am really enjoying vaping! I have not wanted an analog at all until today....(bad day at work) but even today, my eGo got me through! And my all day vape (Vanilla Cream) was a friend to me just like my former menthol analogs were during tough times. I have only planned to go down on nicotine slowly, and if I get to 0 nic and still enjoy the flavor and vapor, I don't see any reason to give up something I enjoy so much. I love the vaping community!! I can't wait to find other vapers in my area!

My main and primary goal is being a non smoker. I'd like to get my nicotine level down to 12 or 6 but I don't think I want to go to 0. I started self medicating with nicotine for reasons that as far as I can tell have not gone away. The same is true of caffeine and sugar. Vaping has helped me cut back on both of those as well by the way but I don't see myself ever giving them up all together either.
